i like how the commentator says that beating the Nazis would be overwelming odds. when Britian had the oil fields of the middle East, and control of most of Africa which provides raw materails, and India which provides tons of raw materials as well. at the start of the war Germany only had Czech sloakia and Austria. so who should have been overwelmed. the Germans.

This is interesting. Some history lately has shone a completely different light on Menzies, to what we learnt as kids and at school. We were always taught that Menzies was a puppet to Churchill, who grovelled at his feet, and wanted to sell Australia to Japan. This version looks more credible. After John Howard, I can see that Menzies was the statesman and nation builder that conservatives claimed he was. He even worked in Chiffly's war cabinet after his political defeat to Labor.
