  • that locks not like a real kart

why have you done the frame not like an original kart ?

    but its not bad

  • What kind off brakes are you using?

And how are you mounting them? I'm building an electric go-kart and I'm having trouble finding the right brake and mounting system.

    Thanks

  • .....artwork

  • why u have the the air inlet on the inside of the cart like that it going make puting air in the tires a lot hard

  • Do you have single piston floating caliper brakes on there?

  • where did you get the spindles and tie rods from and are they expensive???

  • can u use any type of clutch on a engine

  • it depends on wat u want if u want a cheapy it wont cost mutch but it will wear out really fast or u can buy a heavy duty one that will work better and wont wear out for a long time but will cost more

  • i'll buy it for 100

  • thats cool.......I'm test driving my batmobile TUMBLER GO-KART

  • what is the measurement of your go kart frame? thank you

  • That's really nice for home built almost looks store bought

  • No problem mate, Anytime.

  • @slalomflex28

I want to make a go kart aand electric too and I am unsure about some things. You look like you know what your doing, professional. Can you help me? I just have a few questions. Thanks.

  • Are those bearings I see that are securing your steering shaft to the frame?? If not, what components did you use and did you get them from?

    Thanks

  • They are called pillow blocks, A bearing in a housing basically. I got them from RS(radio spares. The steering ones are 16mm ID and the axle ones are 25mm ID. You can get them on ebay as well. Should be under a tenner for the axle ones, Under a fiver for the steering ones.

You could get proper kart ones if you wanted from somewhere like spellfame karting.

    John.

  • Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

  • nice, did you fabricate your front axle steering mechanism yourself?

  • where did u get ur supplies from?

  • Zoom karts, Spellfame, Ebay.

  • Wow that looks really good.

  • Check part 6

  • friend as it is called those arms that it has in the direction? I need them

  • ????????????

  • friend as it is called the red arms that the direction has? those that go from the direction column spear the axis ends if it understands to me

  • very nice i like

  • a bicycle brakes thats cool

  • Its not! The rotor was to thin and suffered severe heat distortion under braking. Check the brake on part 5!

  • i like it, you have put alot of work into it and it is very neat. good job

  • Thanks

  • hey did any one notice at the beginning theres no seat and in the end there is?

  • yeah, I put it on.

  • where did u get the disc brakes

  • Got the disk brakes from a bike shop. But dont, they were s**t. I got rid of them(look at go kart- part 5). If you want a go kart disk brake look for the real thing.

They come pretty cheap on ebay.

  • were do u get the steering systems?

  • i made them by hand.

  • not to bother you but i want to build a go kart this summer and i need to know where you got your welder and how much it has costed so far?

  • Welder was from screwfix for £90. My go kart has cost alot to make mainly because of mistakes and having to inport certain parts from usa. You could probably do the whole go kart for around 400. It all depends on what parts you use and how much you get them for. I found that the main things which are crucial to success is a strong frame and decent wheel set. Hope this helps.

  • Wow - you came in on the cheap. My first one cost me US$1200 (US$1500 if you count mistakes), and the second more than triple that.

I guess I could have saved some money by fabricating more of the parts, rather than buying them, but some things couldn't be avoided, like tires/wheels and bearings.

The other big struggle was not going into "hurry up" mode as completion neared. A couple of times, I caught myself considering shortcuts. That's when I'd knock off for the night. -M

  • That's looking real good. I like the steering setup - I may change mine over like that. Mine has the pittman arms to the back, which puts the tie rods at your achilles. I also like that triangular control arm on the steering shaft - probably easier to assemble and disassemble.

  • Mark. May i ask where you got the foot pedals for the neurotikart 2. I really like them.

  • I dreamed them up and built them. I used 1" metal strap, and bent them on an overloaded sheet metal bender. It seemed like the best thing to do. I can get you a drawing if you'd like - it's just some bent metal strap and some 1/2" bolts.
