Whales are more valuable to this world alive, since many of the whale species help us fight global warming. Some whale species even have an increasing affect on fish stocks,contrary to belief. The difference here is that mankind raises those chicken and cows in farms and takes care of them, supposedly, feeds them, provides them with shelter, etc, and when the time for them to become what they were raised for, which is burgers, comes the death is quick. Most of them are clones and can be easily reproduced. All this is the exact opposite of the case with the whales, each one of which is a unique wild creature.

I've been on those farms. And those chickens are not clones they are just normal chickens. There are few different chickens. I agree that animals deserve the same rights and that one way to preserve them is by not eating them. However people still want to eat whales allthough they could be extinct within 25 years (some species). If you want to preserve them then start helping nature or stop eating threatened species.
