On PC the end is impossible. Not only are the movement instructions the same as on a Console controller (which makes no sense) but when you figure that one out the reaction timing is insane. I've literally tried everything. From bashing the buttons like a insane person to gently timed taps. It's impossible. The rest of the game was playable if not enjoyable, but I do not get how they can leave in such a major gameplay issue.

@mariusvanrhijn, only this crappy reboot of a game. In the original NES and gameboy versions he is good. Also, his whole reason for being evil is just so stupid. Not only do we get that lame grunge rocker look they forced on Rad Spencer, we turn one of the main supporting characters into a Snidely Whiplash-lite villain. They did Joe how they did Hal Jordan in the 90's when they turned him into Parallax over at DC-maybe they should reveal that Joe was possessed by Parallax after Hal as well.

@mariusvanrhijn, regardless of that, it never stated he was evil at all. Joe in most of his incarnations was always a good guy until the crappy remake. Also, like I said, his reasons for going rogue are full of contradictions. In this game, it said he sold the FSA out to the Imperials in the first BC Rearmed game but then in BC rearmed 2, it is indicated he went bad after the backlash the FSA experienced after Brubaker's betrayal. Whatever premise for Joe going bad has so many plotholes.

@CowboyYojimbo, they explained it in Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 that Joe went bad when the public turned on the Bionics after two of their own went rogue, namely a guy called Col. Brubaker and Private Sean McNamara. Even though Rad saved the day, people got fearful of Bionics and Super Joe took the heat for it-which caused him to go rogue. What's lame about all of this is that reasons why they went bad is so weak. This game and the Rearmed ones made me appreciate the NES game even more.

The ending kinda reminds me of this PC game, Pariah, released in 2005. It, too, had an unhappy ending preceded by a rather unsatisfactory boss fight. Both games could otherwise have been brilliant had they some more cool stuff... like boss fights... or nukes... or nicer endings allowing for a - hopefully better - sequel. I mean, in Pariah the protagonist goes kablooie and here Spencer goes splat (although it is only implied, he could theoretically regain consciousness and swing his way out)...

A spin-cocking lever-action grenade launcher. That is one of the most unique weapons I've ever seen in any game EVER!! Only things I don't like about Spencer's character design are the hair and the suspenders. He should have a military haircut and if he's going to wear suspenders, they should be worn properly. Having them hanging like that creates major snag points.

A sad ending indeed for two legendary war heroes. Joe gone traitor and Nathan dishonored and embittered. Well, at least he didn,t have to rot in his cell. And the realisation of what happened to Emily was a punch in the chest! But many things were unanswered, for example we never got a clue to who that mysterious, cloaked snipper was.

Will we ever se a sequel to this one? My heart says yes but my mind says no. Perhaps it,s best for Nathan if he truly dies so he will be reunited with Emily.

When I first saw the "final boss" I thought there will be a final battle similar to Lost Planet's final battle. I know you don't have a nice flying mech suit but still, no boss fight at all, not even the "press the right button" type action sequence... :S

I like the game's story and all, but making Super Joe who was the hero in Commando, and in this case was mixed into the story from Mercs aswell, into a villian, seems veeeeeery wrooooong...

He saves the world 2 times (not counting his kidnapping in Bionic Commando) and helps the heroes in Bionic Commando on the GBC, why the hell would he just think: Oh poopy, let's got destroy the world. :D

the game is good but it could have been better it had to potential to be really great but it felt rushed. Your doing the same thing a lot and there's never anything that changes the pace and the game is very short 2-3hrs game play. Over all I'd say at least rent it.

I agree. Instead of working on three games simultaneously, GRIN should have paced themselves... because all three games, Bionic Commando, Wanted: WoF and Terminator Salvation ended up ranging from mediocre to crap.

As you said, though, BC had so much potential... and some things really were cool, but so much more felt either rushed or broken, leaving the game with more cons than pros.

Definitely a rental.
