I need to know if the million karats, devil trigger, then teleport is viable in the vita version of the game? I've been trying it for two weeks now and it still doesn't work.
@ManNotAgain nope, it's actually slightly easier. One of my match videos actually has me doing it in UMVC3, but can't remember which one. You can definitely do it though.

@JfRazael surprisingly, everything in this video carries over into ultimate. It's very possible it seems easier because you have just had some practice. The only things that have changed are now you HAVE to use jumping H after a bold cancel volcano into airplay instead of a jumping M. Also, Acid rain brings them to the ground faster reducing the length of the loop. As for what's easier, just practice each way and do whatever feels comfortable. No easy ways, just practice.
basically, if you know how to bold cancel, you're pretty much good with dante. cause i've seen so many Dante players but they go for regular combos and has little damage, i rarely see dante players online that uses bold cancel. (i'm starting to think that i'm the only one who's using it) just saying :P

this guide is really interesting. i just got the game and my current team is storm, morrigan, and phoenix. i can't decide whether i should switch storm for dante or not. obviously, i need someone who can deal damage without using too much meter. i don't think dante deals much damage but he seems to build meter without HAVING to use it. i really like storm because her whirldwind goes beats projectile/beam spammers but dante can just teleport and get a combo.

@cochisejackson You're not inputting the next move quickly enough. You have to input the move and press the button before you actually leave the ground, but after inputting bold move.
I'm just starting out with umvc3 and I haven't played vanilla. do you think it's a good idea to pick dante now or should I wait til I have gotten a little more experienced with the game?
Dante or Vergil? vanilla was my first fighting game in a long time and i found Dante too technical to be anywhere near successful (even though he was a big reason why i bought the game coz i'm a huge DMC fan). but now that 1) i've gained more experience and 2) they made his inputs easier... i might pick him up again? or should i go with Vergil?
@thumper3662 Vergil is a LOT less technical, but in my opinion a lot more fun. Dante is still on the more advanced side of playing unless you just jump S all day and do basic stuff, but that's not gonna get you far with dante.

@ethangunner I actually explained the answer previously. You can't do a wall bounce after a level 3 anyway, except MAYBE on sentinel, because not enough bullets from wild stomp connects. That's why S is really the only thing that works. Anyway, to cancel into million dollars, you need to do wildstomp, and then press both partner buttons. if you have exactly one meter, or dante is all by himself, it will do million dollars. Otherwise, you'll team super. Only way to do it.
I find it hard to do it in the ps3 controller. Is there an easier way to do this on the ps3 controller? What I find hardest to do on a ps3 controller is the cancel teleport and the acid rain loop? That i can not do.

@TheDdglover911 I actually currently do not have a copy to help you out. the S however stands for special, not strong, however I'm not quite sure I know what you're referring to. If you're talking about teleports after launchers, it's down down UP then SPECIAL at the same time. If you're talking about after the stab -> wall bounce, then it's actually bold move (which is any attack + special) and before you leave the ground, down down special.
@karateguitarkid if you do the wild stomp into stinger (3HH 6H) and try to bold cancel into the grapple, you have to alter your timing just a little bit. If you just do bold move 236H236H, the grapple will get there before the opponent falls into the grapple, so you need to do 3HH 6H Bold move 236H(Slight pause)236H

When you do Twister, it's often because you're either not truly starting at the down input, or you're starting your input for acid rain too early, and it's not recognizing that you're starting at down. So, instead of reading 236A236A it just reads 6A236A, which the game will read as a 623A, or twister.
Try waiting just a little bit longer before you start your inputs for acid rain.
That was incredible. I learned a good chunk about Dante today. So that devil trigger 623S is invincible to anything? Even say a dark phoenix's fireballs.
@killsmaster7 yes, it will go right through them, but the problem with dark phoenix's fireballs is that they track, so even if you go through them, you won't be able to complete a full combo because they'll hit you out of it. Might be able to do a quick volcano->beehive into a level three though :)

Is it not working because you're jumping? because then you're not pressing light early enough. is it not working because a different move is coming out? Then you're not starting at down. Is it not working because nothing is happening? Then you're doing it too early. Is it not working because you do a different move low to the ground? Then you're probably not doing prop shredder first.
@uranium092 If you're talking about the acid rain after the prop shredder (spinning blade launcher) I've found that if right as the launcher's about to end, if you start at holding down, do a 450 motion starting at down on the controller and press light twice (essentially 23698L741236L), it seems to work consistently.

This is just how I learned how to use it since the soul calibur 2 days, and it really is shorter and easier to write 6H than "press forward+heavy" or 236 instead of "quarter circle forward." How would you describe Magneto's air projectile without numpad notation? All I have to do is say 896+attack.

are you borderline retarded? That notation isn't "Weeaboo animu fag notation"(whatever that might be), it's very simple and efficient. Makes communicating stuck movements and combos so much easier.
@sup3rskrull The inputs are turned on during those sections for a reason. It shows you the exact inputs you need to do, as well as the timing.
If you're going to do the regular launcher into teleport, it requires a very very very specific timing in order to combo. Your best option is to do prop shredder (3HHS, the spinny swords). It has a much longer hit stun allowing you to do anything you want afterwards.

but seriously, the best way to practice some of these things is to attempt it for about 20-30 minutes, and then just come back to it a few hours later for another 20-30 minutes. Eventually your hands will be in this state that everything will be automatic. When the muscle memory kicks in, you will start to do everything much quicker. It might take a while, but you'll get it some day if you practice enough :)

@ProzacStylings the way I've tested it, it has been a cross-up... If you're testing it using the playback function of holding away from the opponent, that playback function auto-corrects to block the cross-up the instant it comes out as it doesn't read the input as *hold right* it reads the input as *hold away from opponent*.
I'll retest it and post an annotation linking to proof or disproof of the crossup...
Oh, there's no maybe about it, unfortunately. The way to properly test it, is to record the dummy doing the Million Carats crossup, and try to block it yourself. I really wish it was a crossup, but it only works on people that /think/ it's a crossup. :\
@Marko2410O You don't bold cancel into acid rain. After doing a launcher, there's no bold move inputs being done. You HAVE to jump cancel it by pressing up. Meaning your input for Acid Rain after a launcher is going to be 2369L236L.
Im a SF4 player trying to learn MVC3 Dante, Wesker, Akuma. i was wondering after pop shredder u do 228S then Hammer 236L236L my question is how do u get hammer to come out so quickly right after ur teleport? its ridiculously hard :'( ive only got it to come out maybe less then 10 times in like 30mins any shortcuts i should know? thanks for ur answer n this Vid
@yeilenf1996 The timing is ridiculously tight. not only do you need to cancel into the devil trigger at the perfect time, but you need to teleport immediately after it ends. It just takes a lot of practice and getting used to the timing. It's a very difficult tech.

@lokito919 it doesn't matter what system you have, it's the same on everything.... volcan (623M) and then immediately do another one (623M) to do beehive. The inputs are on the screen.
Hey Tapion, I saw someone cancel wildstomp (diagonal gun otg) -directly- into million dollars without going into stinger at all. This would be particularly useful to me after doing a level three, because dante is often designed to be the only character I need. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew how this is possible? I played around with it for a bit, and came up short.
@thejazzspecialist Very similar to Wesker's gunshot -> Super, you can do Dante's wildstomp and then press 2 team buttons to go directly into a TEAM super. With 1 meter only, or with only Dante left as a character, wild stomp can be canceled directly into million dollars.
nice vid man upload some more new age dante. I play him ammy and deadpool/wesker. (a perfect DHC team.) What i do with dante is a little different though. A 100 percent combo. But yours is very nice and seeing its from April and we are in September. lol.
@TheNoahv1 Dante has several 100% combos. This wasn't meant to be a 100% combo tutorial, this was just a general movement and canceling tutorial, but specifically for Dante. How you chose to mix it up to get those 100% combos (although without a level 3, some DHC's, assists,or an early devil trigger, it's damn near impossible on anyone with decent health) is where you need to experiment :-P
Good video man, but I do have a question. How do you do the back to wall combo? Meaning, dante does the stinger and he shoves his opponent to the wall and you can follow up with a teleport or whatever u want. Id appreciate it. :)
@webtoolover check out trag13's vids, hes got some skrull stuff, give skrull an otg assist which can extend BnB combos into things like Rolling Hook>meteor smash>inferno. skrull has good tools going for him if hes got good assists to cover him, or trap the opponent

@uranium092 If you're talking about the acid rain after the prop shredder (spinning blade launcher) I've found that if right as the launcher's about to end, if you start at holding down, do a 450 motion starting at down on the controller and press light twice (essentially 23698L741236L), it seems to work consistently.

This is just how I learned how to use it since the soul calibur 2 days, and it really is shorter and easier to write 6H than "press forward+heavy" or 236 instead of "quarter circle forward." How would you describe Magneto's air projectile without numpad notation? All I have to do is say 896+attack.
I also had no idea that this was my subtle attempt at trying to be japanese. I'm gonna go read manga and watch un-dubbed anime now. sayonara

when you combo the teleport do you launch then press down down up + launch?

@sup3rskrull The inputs are turned on during those sections for a reason. It shows you the exact inputs you need to do, as well as the timing.
If you're going to do the regular launcher into teleport, it requires a very very very specific timing in order to combo. Your best option is to do prop shredder (3HHS, the spinny swords). It has a much longer hit stun allowing you to do anything you want afterwards.

@MrArchibaldwitwiki after knocking an opponent to the ground, you have to do wildstomp (3HH) and then stinger (6H)

but seriously, the best way to practice some of these things is to attempt it for about 20-30 minutes, and then just come back to it a few hours later for another 20-30 minutes. Eventually your hands will be in this state that everything will be automatic. When the muscle memory kicks in, you will start to do everything much quicker. It might take a while, but you'll get it some day if you practice enough :)

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but unfortunately, Million Carats -> Teleport isn't actually a crossup.

@ProzacStylings the way I've tested it, it has been a cross-up... If you're testing it using the playback function of holding away from the opponent, that playback function auto-corrects to block the cross-up the instant it comes out as it doesn't read the input as *hold right* it reads the input as *hold away from opponent*.
I'll retest it and post an annotation linking to proof or disproof of the crossup...

Oh, there's no maybe about it, unfortunately. The way to properly test it, is to record the dummy doing the Million Carats crossup, and try to block it yourself. I really wish it was a crossup, but it only works on people that /think/ it's a crossup. :\

@Marko2410O You don't bold cancel into acid rain. After doing a launcher, there's no bold move inputs being done. You HAVE to jump cancel it by pressing up. Meaning your input for Acid Rain after a launcher is going to be 2369L236L.

Im a SF4 player trying to learn MVC3 Dante, Wesker, Akuma. i was wondering after pop shredder u do 228S then Hammer 236L236L my question is how do u get hammer to come out so quickly right after ur teleport? its ridiculously hard :'( ive only got it to come out maybe less then 10 times in like 30mins any shortcuts i should know? thanks for ur answer n this Vid

@yeilenf1996 The timing is ridiculously tight. not only do you need to cancel into the devil trigger at the perfect time, but you need to teleport immediately after it ends. It just takes a lot of practice and getting used to the timing. It's a very difficult tech.

Hey Tapion, I saw someone cancel wildstomp (diagonal gun otg) -directly- into million dollars without going into stinger at all. This would be particularly useful to me after doing a level three, because dante is often designed to be the only character I need. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew how this is possible? I played around with it for a bit, and came up short.

@thejazzspecialist Very similar to Wesker's gunshot -> Super, you can do Dante's wildstomp and then press 2 team buttons to go directly into a TEAM super. With 1 meter only, or with only Dante left as a character, wild stomp can be canceled directly into million dollars.

nice vid man upload some more new age dante. I play him ammy and deadpool/wesker. (a perfect DHC team.) What i do with dante is a little different though. A 100 percent combo. But yours is very nice and seeing its from April and we are in September. lol.

@TheNoahv1 Dante has several 100% combos. This wasn't meant to be a 100% combo tutorial, this was just a general movement and canceling tutorial, but specifically for Dante. How you chose to mix it up to get those 100% combos (although without a level 3, some DHC's, assists,or an early devil trigger, it's damn near impossible on anyone with decent health) is where you need to experiment :-P

Good video man, but I do have a question. How do you do the back to wall combo? Meaning, dante does the stinger and he shoves his opponent to the wall and you can follow up with a teleport or whatever u want. Id appreciate it. :)

@webtoolover check out trag13's vids, hes got some skrull stuff, give skrull an otg assist which can extend BnB combos into things like Rolling Hook>meteor smash>inferno. skrull has good tools going for him if hes got good assists to cover him, or trap the opponent
