When i played this mission, i kinda played it like every other mission, ever since COD4, its always been very realistic when it came to single player, so this mission didn't bother me. Actually the no russian mission was pretty damn fun, lol.

I don't get the shock over that level. The models of the bystanders were crappy compared to the main characters of the game and there was barely any blood. The animations were all just repetitive, the people were generic people with different color clothes...it was nothing special at all.

When people played Counter-Strike and shot at counter-terrorists, did anyone give a crap?

when he first brought up the two pistols, how did he reload with one hand? I love how you can hear people's screams Maybe it is because I've lived with video games longer than others, but the awfulness of this level doesn't bother me that much. It is just a game, after all.

All new media gets blamed for murders and suicides and etc., sadly its not a new phenomenon. You will always get a reactionary voice from any game you make... some that swears "too much", has graphic violence, hell even simply implying that gay people exist can make people shit their pants in rage.

If you cant tell the difference between fiction and reality then videogames are most certainly not for you but why punish people based on what the vast minority MIGHT do?

Colin's line is not genius at the end, he doesnt understand the story of the game, the first was about ultranationalists in Russia, there were sand niggers in the first one, but they captured the leader, Al-Asad, and found out he was supplied a nuke from the ultranationalists, and so this picks up after that one, the whole point of this mission is to frame the U.S. for the attack on the airport and get Russia to go to war with the U.S. in retalliation.

The first Modern Warfare cinematics tripped me out too. Mostly, the one where you see things from that president's point of view and then he gets shot. I was in a room full of friends and I am trying to be all "hard" but those scenes...just stunned me.

I actually think this is a good argument that video games don't make people cold blooded or violent. Patrice, and lots of other people who play these types of games all the time, were still very disturbed by this scene. If games desensitized people, then you'd expect people like Patrice to not have been bothered by this scene at all.

I bought the game the day it released, and when it gave a warning at the beginning, I was like, "...Really? I know there's graphic content, it's a war game, a sequel to a game that nuked 30,000 marines." So I hit yes and continued.

Then it got to this scene, and I was just like, "..............Yeah, that explains the warning."

I didn't kill anybody in that part of the board, I just shot my gun at random objects so the others would see me shooting. I think anybody that kills people in that fashion in a video game has Serious Mental Issues. I commend IW for making this so realistic & giving the option to kill the people or not. But if murdering large groups of defenseless people in cold blood is something you enjoy doing in a video game then you're a Sociopath.

@McNugget06 I think it's more the fact that you become an active participant in the game. With movies, it's more like the bystander effect; you can't look away. But in the game, not only can you not look away, but you're pushed directly into it. It'll unsettle some people.

The combat in this game is so amazing it's fucking unreal. I don't understand people having some sort of moral conflict though when i came outta the airport elevator i was thinking "holy shit this is actual terrorism in a videogame." I was excited that the developers had the balls to bring such realism into the game.
