  • "It was time for drastic action"

    -"Cyanide."

    lmao

  • "Its like lung nectar"

    brilliant.

  • does anyone know what episode and season this is from?

  • Oxygen depravation seems to have claimed 35 people. Anyway, I'm probably the 2nd, 3rd or so on to ask this-- Any ideas what the music is that plays from 6:31 to 7:29?

  • Help!! Any one?!

    @JustQ80

  • Whats is the music used from 0:18 till 1:02?

I love it. Please help me to find it... Plz

  • *i actually cracked up!

  • Haha! Lol @ the Viagra!! U actually cracked up when he said "the only thing that can help us now is.. Viagra.." hahaaa!!

  • my fav special episode so far..

  • @MrAmansyed I agree

  • Men the only thing that can help us now... Viagra

  • The way he hobbles out of the car at 6 minutes killed me hahahah

  • Late last year some friends convinced me to bring my dirt bike out to Colorado. I stepped off the plane fresh from 600ft Atlanta and we went to Taylor Park, starting at 10K ft and riding up to 12K ft on trails that were practically trials courses with bikes prepped for near sea level. In between five minute hyperventilating spells, it was fun seeing what it took to get the bikes to carry you up the mountains.

  • just the very first seconds made me laugh... they all chose an active volcano XD

  • Yes, acute mountain sickness. O2 is one option, but it promotes a dangerous cahnce for free-radical injury.

I'd recommend a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, such as Acetazolamide, which can combat the main problem of acute mountain sickness (alkalosis). Just give them boys extra water to drink ;-)

  • altitude sickness is a b*tch.

  • Stages of acute mountain sickness should have had oxygen masks which would have help also a need for acclimatization need to spend weeks to acclimatize

  • In what city are they?

  • does this looks like a city?

  • What I'd like to know is how they got all those high above shots like the one at 4:16

  • Is it me or is Captain.Slow's belly getting rounder?

  • Air is so underated!

  • that video teach us never buy a toyota......

  • do you feel sortof drunk but its not pleseant lmao

  • 2:30 Case in point.

  • 1:26 Did he say " But these niggers are over shadowed" ?

  • @AnimatedUser niggles

  • @AnimatedUser niggles...

  • They should have taken salbutamol, it is a very effective drug and doesn't cause the side effects...

  • Viagra, the cure for everything.

  • hmmm shouldve bought some oxigen masks.

  • They keep stopping to take a breather, yet there's no air.....makes no sense to me..

  • Topgear's recipe for suspense:

Camera shake, close ups, lots of editting, dramatic music.

  • They obviously had emergency gear on hand just off camera. The camera crew obviously had to be there in their own vehicles, and probably with supplemental oxygen bottles in order to get into position and establish all those long shots. The situation wasn't as dangerous as it's being made out to be.

  • @dunbar9finger That's very true. But they did do a good job of making the situation look very realistic. Of course they did lack oxygen, but as you said, it definitely was not as dangerous as it was made out to be.

  • @dunbar9finger At no point in the film do they even imply that what they're doing is dangerous. I'll never understand why pedants insist on reading so much into an entertainment show. Obviously they aren't going to die, obviously it isn't dangerous, but the effects of oxygen deprivation are real.

  • @blackvapour They do in fact imply that it was dangerous.

  • @dunbar9finger Take for example the commentary from 6:34 through 6:45.

  • @blackvapour Also, my response was in response to *other commenters on youtube* who said this was dangerous, who clearly hadn't thought about the fact that there was obviously a crew with supplies off camera.

  • "It like lung nectar" hahaha!

  • I like it when hammond says "short, short" =)

  • anything above 10000 ft you will need oxygen and they are at 16000 ft

  • Nobody built the road, it's a beaten track not a road.Hammond could have made it alone, but alone there is no point. And where are the oxgen tubes, i think this route wasnt planned

  • hhaha. broke back mountain!!!! they took the viagra and theyre about to bring out the lotion. haha jk guys

  • "Viagra, for reasons unknown, stops you having an adima in your lung."

"I thought it was more of the trouser department that it concentrated on..."

    xD

  • You shoul put some onion, yes, cut an onion and put it in the air intake, the car goes better at high altutude. its an old solution used by locals.

  • @sauronics -- Using the principle of adding moisture which helps make the incoming air more dense? Leaning the fuel to reduce over-rich fuel-air mix and retarding spark to allow piston to reach TDC before initiating detanation would also help. A water-methanol injection system would help also -- as of course would having a turbo. Wrapping open-cell foam-rubber, burlap or wool-blanket material loosely around air-filter element & wetting w/ water would accomplish same purpose as cut-onion.

  • OK, I'm impressed. That's about 2,000 feet higher than I've ever been, not counting planes, and I had less breath left than their cars do here.

  • Surely I can't be the only one to think it would've been hilarious if they had to carry on going over the volcano.. with massive hard-ons

  • "It's like lung nectar"

  • Viagra?? HAHAHAHAHAXDXDXDXDXDXDX

  • That's the Andes Mountians for ya. It's actually raw Coca Leaves the help alleviate High Altitude Sickness. Been used since the time of the Inca Empire and before the Conquistadors and Europeans starting exploiting it and changing it's concentration to very toxic levels (why it's so commonly seen as such a vile plant.) :D.

  • @sintofg Just check out Anthony Bourdains No Reservations Episode of Peru :)

  • fuckin google chrome keep on crushing

  • fuck lsd fuck meth fuck every drug ...

a lack of oxygen makes normal air a thing like lung nectar ...

  • @d3Rm0Nk -fuckin google chrome keep on crushin

  • Ever heard of Khardung La? At 18,380 feet, it is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Drove there in a Dacia Logan.

  • One of them should of gotten a Honda, cuz it lasts forever ;P

  • thas what viagra will do to ya

  • dajcie wszystkie swoje filmy na youtube

  • yea i too am quite baffled gah how the fucking hell did the fricken natives manage to build a road over that volcanic monster? i mean this is insane .

  • @FLAME4564 I've been to Guallatiri Volcano twice... those roads go all the way to the Bolivian border, so the Chilean Army and the Police use them for surveillance and military pursposes.., I don't think they made them... they probably kept on driving on the same paths with Unimog and pickup trucks until they eventually turned them into "roads"...

  • but really, why the hell they tried to pushstart that range rover?! thats bloody dangerous!!

  • ive been to tibet, driving there as well...so i know what they are feeling..

  • What's the name of the song playing at 2:00?

  • "there is just one small thing that's occured to me chaps...where the hell are we?"

    that is just nice jeremy...hahahahaha

  • shoulda brought oxgen with them, im suprised they didnt think about this.

  • I've been at that height... and I walked there. So come on...

  • WTF u doing with viagraaa ??

  • I've heard that on the very top of the volcano - 6045m there used to be a sulfur mine where people worked every day (who do you think had pushed the road that they were using) so these three clowns might look like the ultimate extreme survivor heroes only to some Yorkshire housewife that doesn't have a clue about mountains

  • Does anybody know what's the soundtrack that starts playing at 6:35?

  • the cameraman is an alien

  • HAHA love the ending xD

  • that sucks because the FAA says you need to be pressurized after 12,000 feet if your passed 12,000 feet for more than 30 minutes

  • @buddy6694 Not pressurized just oxygen intake from an oxygen tank will suffice.

  • hey allstate, FUCK YOU and your ads

  • LOOK AT MAY GIVING HIMSELF A ´MASSAGE´AT 0.05 LOL

  • If they went up and down that fast, I am surprised they did not get the "bends."

  • I love my south america, I wish everyone who visits a good time down there

  • You have to give time body to adapt such altitude. They climbed too fast.

  • The Viagra should have been given to those pieces of junk they call vehicles ...

  • HOW DID THEY SURVIVE?

  • As far as I know, Viagra opens and enlarges blood vessels, allowing blood and the oxyden in the blood flow easier.

  • @TheKingofnoob viagra lowers the blood pressure allowing it 2 b pumped around the body easier. it is used 2 treat the symtoms of altitude symtoms but asprin works mor effectively they probably used viagra 4 the comedy value of having a hard on

  • Do you feel sort of drunk but it's not pleasant.....lol.

  • IT'S LIKE BREATHING SOUP!! XD

  • this is a re posting on this video, which i rarely do. but i think if they would have converted their vehicles to run on E85 and brought a lot of extra fuel the extra HP at high altitude might have made a world of difference. I think ethanol performs better at altitude because it carries extra oxygen in it. I am looking at Aviation Grade Ethanol AGE85 which is similar to E85 except stuff added for a less chance of vapor lock. as far as i no it works better at altitude. more testing is needed.

  • @switchgrassfuel I think a turbocharger would have been a better option. they were originally designed for high altitude piston fighter planes, less O2 content, force feed the engine more air to correct the problem.

  • @PaladinXM8 i think E85 and a turbocharger would be a perfect combination. turbo is an excellent idea. it would cost more, but it would provide the extra power to get the job done. I don't no why i didn't think of that. I would like them to redo the challenge with one of the vehicles having a turbo and on E85 just to see the difference. I think all of the vehicles should be new. thanks for your comment. your idea might be even better than mine.

  • @switchgrassfuel e85 would allow you to run higher boost with a turbo as well

  • @PaladinXM8 I no makes me want to get a turbo right now.

  • How come the dramatic music kicked in AFTER they gave up?

  • What was wrong with the clutches?

  • @darkknightnine - The Toyota's clutch had already gone boom on the death road

  • odviously viagra didnt work its for jacking off and having sex

  • @fable3XD *facepalm* You clearly know very little about Viagra and all the effects on the body it can have

  • they should brought canned oxygen

  • @fable3XD You think that camera crew didnt have oxygen with them? of course they had.

  • "were the hell are w ?!" :D

  • They should have bought a hilux

  • @moellerersej yeah they should have like the time it falls of a exploding building and still survive

  • @moellerersej I'm not saying it would be a bad choice, not at all, but would it be more reliable then a landcruiser? Sure hammonds wasn't the most reliable but it may have been a dud. Did toyota invest more in parts in the hilux? they may very well have done.

  • @moellerersej the only good reason i bought hilux is reliabilty and the rest is boring, design is boring, engine is boring,off-road is boring with hilux. All Toyota cars are boring and funless to drive, they're just not die sadly

  • i would take the long way.

  • "theres one thing dat has occurred to me chaps, where da hell are we?!"

  • i just took viagra on top of the andes!

  • @GranturismoFan666 They probably had oxygen tanks.

  • And toyotas are reliable? It broke down more than the range rover!

  • @GCRCspartan

That's not really an expected enviroment.

He means overall not just there... wich is the point.

  • James My commenting on Viagra..."Is it time?" Wonder how many people caught that lol

  • 32 ppl think oxygen is over rated

  • VIAGRA!

  • @paintballingfanatic They had cars however and a medical team and backup in the ass like I said. But if it's so damn important to you that everything these two millionaire journalists and ex-local radio DJ do is real, then lap it up.

  • @arseymcpherson fuck you

  • Comment removed

  • @poke125 LOL! How eloquent.

  • @arseymcpherson thanks for being sarcastic smartass

  • what a bunch of whiners. they make it sound like they climb the bloody thing by foot.

  • @francbiss let's see you do the same thing.

  • The end is just too funny XD

  • Comment removed

  • "We are now the highest motorists in the world apart from George Michael obviously" LOL

  • Comment removed

  • "there's one thing that's just occurred to me chaps..... Where the hell are we?" Good old Clarkson

  • the clutch always goes out on his car

  • They are not made for that terrain and the altitude, they are from the UK...

The highest inland peak is Scafell Pike at 978 metres (3,209 ft)

The highest isalnd peak is Ben Nevis at 1,343 metres (4,406 ft)

  • Comment removed

  • @BLUECIFU that is true but what about the machines? even they seem to be working weirdly?

anyway 0:40 cracked me up, "highest", "in the world"?

  • @tantrikify

Sure!, if we go there hardly would be able to have a small run, and the cars are just fighting and they behave like if they were de-syncronized, the gas is not getting fully burned because of the lack of Oxygen to aid the full combustion process; as the body works harder to get enough Oxygen from the air, the cars will be lacking of strength due to the same reazon...

  • Even thou, I would love to have a Bike there...

    just to experience that challenge...

  • @BLUECIFU

This one is over 4,000 metres and this gulliatiri is over 6,000 metres.

No doubt that their cars would be dead alot so as them fighting

    over the altitude sickness.

  • Is it because of the altitude? I don't get it. My city is at 4600 meters which is about 15000 feets and the air feels ok. I think it's more to do with the terrain?

  • @tantrikify to get the modern engines work you need oxygen.because almost every car engine is based on consuming high levels of oxygen to reduse the amound of fuel consumed and to make less powerfull engines that do the same job in normal oxygen levels this is what turbo does.but even in normal cars without turbo you need oxygen to keep the engine running and because they are on a hard terrain that means increased need for torque the oxygen level are insuficient to keep the engine running

  • drastic action: cyanide...No, Viagra. HAHAHA!

  • 30 people missed the like button

  • @asbeitemu no 30 people are stupid!!!

  • If anyone wants the full length episode, PM me.

  • and imagine that they didnt take that much amount of water and viagra

  • ya at 6000 ft up a 2000 pound truck is more like 7000 8000 pounds

  • 3:17 that's pretty much space there, the dark horizon.

  • its like breathing soup

  • they all had boners

  • @420witchdoctor there not used to it

  • God, this is excruciating, I'm literally feeling their pain just watching this.

  • i think there boners were taking all the blood away from there brains

  • @Sunshockey14 Do you know what ''there'' actually means?

  • @haavar10 He can't even use full stops or capital letters.

  • they should have taken oxygen with them even if they had went the long way around at least they would have been able to breathe and taken the air cleaners off the vehicles it wouldnt have helped much but it would have opened up the intake a bit more

  • Clarkson and co, vs, the Volcano.... Volcano 1, Clarkson and co 0

  • I noticed after taking the viagra James stopped talking

  • Cyanide? No, viagra.

  • So the Range Rover performed the best? Was this one of those challenges where they have to get cars for less than a thousand quid or something?

  • @Zanshin596 read again then and watching these faggots complain for 8min+ gets old real fast pussy's

  • Lolz

  • @blue2kid3 just get a cheap freeview box from asda or summit then you get dave and lots more channels. there onloy bout £10, thats what ive got

  • @CURTixHavoKz same

  • one thing chaps, were the hell are we lol best ending of top gear i ever saw

  • 1:44 not a time to demonstrate

  • it's like lung nectar!!! lol

  • The MARSIMEK-LA is the highest at over 18000ft. These guys are showing off too much :(
