I have noted this in Europe, Georgia, Colorado, New Mexico and California. It is a very common occurence in the spring in areas with large numbers of coniferous trees.

Even if it is pollen, I suspect it is loaded with atomic fallout as well. Just because there is pollen does not mean there is not atomic fallout as well. Google returns no results about "yellow rain" in Chernobyl. I live in Japan and the pollen is roughly 10x worse this year than previous years, and it started back in February, well before the disasters.

Also, think about it: If this was nuclear material, there would be Geiger counters going off the charts right now. Skepticism about what you see and hear is all good, but in this case it's just pollen.

Furthermore, over the weekend, I have been asking farmers I know from here to IN if they've ever seen yellow rain, and not one person has, except a couple remember hearing about it during the Chernobyl incident. No one saw bright yellow-colored rain falling from the skies of Tokyo (at least not from what I've been reading). What they did find was a yellow residue the next day, which would be consistent with pollen.
