I remember this scene.I happen to see this movie when I was child. It was very impressive. Nureyev himself is legend though, this dance is so cool that I cant close my eyes.

It is really difficult to tell what a person's sexuality is by their mannerisms alone (especailly when that person is foreign and the media is not exactly clear-those old films did not pick up alot.) There are plenty of really good looking guys out there that are gay or bi, why can't you just be happy with that? It is just wrong to say this about someone that was such a beautiful person inside & out. Rudy deserved the truth, if you honestly appreciate his art, offer him the truth.

@edwardjames50 I don't care about Rudy's sexuality but he did. Please read 'Dark Lover' published a few years ago. That book has been quoted as the most researched book on Valentino. I care about Rudy the artist and kind soul.

According to research done by Emiley Leider who wrote 'Dark Lover' and Zumaya of the Valentino Society, Rudy was neither gay nor bi. I don't care, I have gay and bi friends. There were some books written stating he was, but those authors have been discredited. One was beaten with a baseball bat for publishing something about Evil Knieval (the stuntman) beat him with a bat putting him in the hospital.

your serious denials would somehow change the truth that Valentino

was a normal healthy male with a passionate sex drive common to virile

males of age 25 in the 1920s.

It may be true he wasn't gay or bi, but he wasn't 100% str8 either. I have

gay friends who can tell by watching his mannerisms that he wasn't a

pure str8 guy, (have no idea how), and probably took all the sex he could

get from whatever gender. So what?

I'm only repeating what I read based on the research of those that seriously researched Valentino's life. I felt compelled to post this info after reading about how Rudy was willing to risk his health & looks in defense of allegations. It is not fair to his memory.  As for your friends, they can dream on. People have a tendency to see what they want to believe.

Nureyev is playing Valentino. The blond dancer is playing Nijinsky. Moreover, he's Anthony Dowell, now Sir Anthony Dowell, lead male dancer and then director of the Royal Ballet.

Excelente escena de esta película de Rusell.Nijinsky murió en Buenos Aires(Argentina)y el tango en sus comienzos, se practicaba bailarlo entre varones porque habían pocas mujeres que lo hacían y se consideraba pecaminoso.Sólo en los medios prostibularios se los podía bailar con una mujer.ya que fue creado como danza de pareja para bailarlo entre hombre y mujer.5*

interesante comentario acerca de que en el comienzo el tango se bailaba entre hombres, no lo sabia pero ahora que lo mencionas tiene sentido. acerca de la pelicula es muy buena tambien, una de las pocas actuaciones de Nureyev

Очень хорошо помню, как смотрела этот фильм первый раз, и как потрясла меня эта сцена. Невероятно красиво и чувственно. Обожаю Нуриева, обожаю Нижинского... Спасибо за клип.
