  • Bravo! Applause!!!

  • Solo los asiáticos pueden hacer algo así ._.

  • @abixhv24310 No es asiático.

  • some fingers you got there.

  • The best

  • The softer part should have been slower

  • Freddy Kempf Prachtig gespeeld!!!!

  • Your vid is a favorite on Lilongwe

  • wilheim kempfs grandson??

  • @highlanderdurp yup. and much less in the way of Nazi sympathies :-)

  • He definitely played this with feeling. I don't care if someone thinks this is too fast, it's perfect to me. This song I think, is meant to have some pretty drastic changes in tempo, it just gives it so much emotion that way.

  • It took me 2 hours to reach the 3rd Mov. and I think is stupid that you can comment while listening, what a waste of time I am going to listen to this for the 6th time, tough life!!

  • i think his head moving and his hair just underline what he does on the piano

    ... i like it ...

  • so good , sound really nature even it's too fast

  • too fast...

  • @galaxion2 its out of sync cos his fingers are travelling faster then the speed of sound o.o i keed :P

  • he must be stopped!!! if his fingers go any faster hes going to make a portal into another dimension or a blackhole or smtin o.o. Brix shat , Mind blown, nuff said

  • 2:00 I whip my hair back and forth

  • Is it just me, or is the video and audio slightly out of sync? (Not sure if it should be 'is' or 'are')

  • MIND BLOWN

  • he's amazing but its jokes how he moves his head about so much. wicked playing tho.

  • My mum is a pianist too and she played this when she was 15! Never then less this man is great!!!

  • @coolasianbrian sure haha its just a really weird coincidence is it not?

  • He's not related to Wilhelm Kempff. Their last names are spelled different, and Wilhelm is German while Freddy is Russian.

  • @UncreativePerson123 i really thought that he was his grandson...man...i didn't know that thank you.

  • You are really great beethovenist! Bien sûr there is the difference between you and your grand father. And so You have also the other vertues, mais au même temps, I feel that something de your musical idea based on your grand father's en bonne part de sens

    from your grand father's pupil

  • You are really great beethovenist! Bien sûr there is the difference between you and your grand father. And so You have also the other vertues, mais au même temps, I feel that something de your musical idea based on your grand father's en bonne part de sens

  • Should be list as adult content. Beyond music itself. Beyond human convention.

  • you can tell just by looking at him that this man was born brilliant.

  • this is way too fast. I dont like his performance. But I think his skills are extremely good.

  • @bio1229 Well, it does fit in the realm of "Allegro"

  • @dragon32210 yes, sure, but hear all the other pianists like gilels or barenboim, they play it waaaay slower. And I like it more

  • This (all of it) makes my heart hurt, that a person not only felt this, but had the chops and the extreme patience to actually write it down (anyone who has tried it knows how insanely difficult it is!), and at this skill level....with everything he was going thru (which is near unthinkable), it reminds me that life is truly beautiful no matter how difficult.

  • BEETHOVEN VIRUS! OMFG!

  • I play the piano and work on the pathetique. I am not in the same league as this man. In fact, I am not in the neighboring league. But I think this may be true: this piece does not need to be played so fast! I am not critisizing him. To play it slower by less skillful artists is an acceptable intepretation.

  • Chuck norris can play this with 2 pinkies.

  • Look at those fingers. It's scary long!

  • Can anyone tell me who is this??

  • @svaellmen

I guess this is Freddy Kempf he got his own yt channel

  • @svaellmen Freddy Kempff

  • its perfectly fine to play it at this speed!!!!!!!! and i must add that i always feel extremely satisfied after i finish watching Kempf's performance. he is soooo awesome!!!!!!

  • Where's the 2nd movement?

  • @jukoboss

    there you go:

    watch?v=n2nG1bt7IBM

  • @PPJens Thanks a lot mate, I didn't see it in the related videos. Such an amazing sonata and wonderful playing, I love it.

  • wonderfull presentation even i can't get off with this piece.

  • Tampons

  • HE IS SO FUCKING GOOD. I AM DRUNK OFF MY ARSE, AND I LEFT ALL MY FRIENDS TO COME LISTEN TO THIS AND BLAST IT AS LOUD AS THE RULES IN MY STUPID FUCKING APARTMENT COMPLEX WOULD ALLOW. SECOND ONLY TO LISTENING TO BEETHOVEN HIMSELF. CONSIDER THIS MESSAGE YELLED AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS.

  • @SendInTheChickens yeah you were not drunk or you could not type properly

  • Comment removed

  • @SendInTheChickens could you comment a little quieter some people in here are trying to focus on the music with out you drowning it out.

  • @ryank8843 sorry. bit of a dionysian dontcha know.

  • @SendInTheChickens I like you the most :D

  • @heyaidkwhut haha. beethoven. devastating stuff.

  • @SendInTheChickens like a boss

  • @SendInTheChickens thanks man you made my day

  • @cecilefelix glad to hear - though, it wasn't really me, it was L. van Beetroot. only reacting to the total devastation of his sadly long gone brain.

  • @SendInTheChickens Haha so awesome.

  • middle parting like a boss

  • @canzhi sounds like a little part from tom and jerry

  • excessive speed

  • Why is everyone putting the word song in quotations?

  • @99emobunnies

because it's a piece, not a song. There's no singing.

  • @sheebshag Ohhh, that makes sense, thanks

  • This is the most lovely interpretation I've heard~ Excellent Job! I'll be looking for more ^^

  • très bien j'adore votre interprétation bravo

  • nah good playing realy good but the tempo does make it sound bad...it doesnt suit that movement it makes it sound rushed!!! my opinion but yh doesnt sound right.

  • that's right!!! Start like Beethoven Virus

  • That piano looks gorgeous, and extremely fun to play on.

  • It was perfect .. I really love it <3

  • For all of those critiquing his tempo or whatever else, there's one thing about music you should know: it's not exact. It's interpretive. In my mind, he executed this perfectly. I know I'd never be able to play it this well. I say congratulations to him for even being able to play it that fast. It's amazing

  • The song is not as fast as the video if you noticed this in 0:20

  • Is this just me, or he looks nervous?

  • I personally think its way too fast to enjoy!!!!

  • @oliviafroggie

    ..agree :-)

  • Wow, loving all the hate guys. It was an offhand comment, and a poorly phrased one at that. I've been playing Classical piano since I was 3, and just performed the complete Pathetique Sonata for my jury in college. I don't think it was a song, I apologize for neglecting to use the proper vernacular. I should have said something like "I feel this is being taken way too fast." He does a good job expressing, but it is REALLY fast. Stop with all the hate. Sorry.

  • @NiGHTSfan92 Your opinion was just as valid that of anyone else, and if hastily worded I found your use of irony funny, so don't think you're on your own with your view.

  • @NiGHTSfan92

I'm sorry ! I thought you were a guy who don't know anything about music that's why I was angry ! I agree with you it is very fast but even if it is toot fast or too slow this "song" is very beautiful and it is in my opinion the best " song" of Beethoven !

I agree with you as far as expression is concerned he is a very good player ! i think you are a good player too ! Can you play this sonata and put the video on youtube please ! :)

  • Hair goes flippy, hair goes floppy. Hair also GLOES!!! XD

  • Love this song. I was going to buy the music for it, but then I couldn't remember which Movement number it was. Now I must return to the store...

  • This music is music to my ears. :)

  • at 0:22 , is that actually a chord that he strikes at the speed of light?

  • @Schecter0011 HORY SHET, ALL HAIL FREDDY KEMPF!

  • haters are to hate. those 40 haters are just brainless creatures

  • I like this guy...he's a cut above the rest...

  • Septette for the Dead Princess!

  • I enjoyed all three movements very much. The pace was wonderful.

  • Woah, what a great play .. the speed is very awesome too

    I Love it !! QuQb

  • THIS IS ANTIVIRUS!<3

  • @NiGHTSfan92

Don't be pretentious. There is nothing wrong with this interpretation.

  • @atepope2 nicely said. music is one of many ways for man to express interpretation. personally, i like the tempo with which he played. when my piano teacher made me play this slowly, it drove me crazy. but i couldnt play as fast as this guy. whew.

  • @NiGHTSfan92 dude, it's called a "pianist". And if you had any knowledge, you would know that it´s a "piece", not a "song".

  • @NiGHTSfan92 You are just an idiot.

  • @NiGHTSfan92 Lols. WTS is a pianer. Maybe you can start playing your grade 1 songs before trying to criticize other's playing.

  • @NiGHTSfan92 The fact that you think the Sonata Pathetique is a "song" speaks volumes for your knolwedge.

  • @NiGHTSfan92

Can you play this "song" as you called it ? Can you play it as well as this interpretation ? I'd like to hear you !! :)

  • Woah, I didn't know Freddy Kemph did a "Beethoven Virus" cover! He must be an avid Diana Boncheva fan.

  • @arishegg this is the original lol idk if you knew that

  • @arishegg thia piece is a piano sonata, Diana Boncheva did a cover...

  • Well played, but a little fast

  • simply amazing!

  • Amazing! Does anyone know if Beethoven wrote this before or after he was deaf?

  • Comment removed

  • @chiliandcandy this was written around 1800, around the same time he was going deaf -- He wasn't completely deaf when he wrote this.

  • this is in grade 8, is the piece I would choose if I was doing g8!

  • Genial!!!

  • 1:27 > Problem...see,y the video got sound,but he no ply yet..

  • @EdwardLaiPY Speed of light > Speed of Sound, and Technology aren't as precise as your ears.. :) be thankful mate.. :) cheerioo

  • @xmangosaintx hehehehe....nvm~^.^

  • One of the most awesome emotional expression of this piece! Superb!

  • I can't imagine how Beethoven played this himself.

  • Perfect performance

  • I love you

  • he is playing perfect. who plays better? Gen Gloud? fast, doesn't mean good. His performance is the best!!!

  • the is a beatiful music, and performace is very good, the pianist is very good, my congratulations.

  • oh my gosh~ he looked asian when he was bowing~ I really enjoyed his playing! I think he's great!!!!! And i like how he adds his own feelings to his own playing.... i love artists who do that.... those who play with no emotion give me a feeling that they're playing for the sake of preforming and don't actually ENJOY IT <------ Does my comment make sense? haha~ kekekek... I'm starting to really like his playing.... I'm like stalking him and all of his videos~ heheheh +_=

  • It sounds really good! :)

  • toi nghi rang ong nay da thuc su chu tam vao viec danh nhung ban nhac tuyet voi tu phan 1-3 ong ay deu thuc hien rat tot voi tat ca tam huyet cua ong ay va dieu cuoi cung toi nghi la I LOVE THE WAY HE PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • how fast are his fingers going?? they're blurry??? wtf!! :D chuck norris could play this with one finger ;D x

  • Virus ????

  • @lukascMontt Its a Korean Drama about a group of musicians and a workaholic conductor.

  • @EuropeanNinja gracias

  • I would say that the more you know about music, probably the more valid your criticisms. Even better if you've tried to play the thing. But this idea that anyone with a set of ears attached to their heads has as uesful an opinion as someone who has devoted their life to something is really tiresome. How did that ever even get started?

  • Wtf i heard this in "Beethoven Virus", and now that i hear the original, i love the theme, at that speed.

  • @Laudan08 coke > pepsi

  • @highlanderdurp nope. two camels in a tiny car.

  • Septette for the dead princess~

  • Very Mozartian, but Beethoven in it's entirety.

  • Love this performance. He has a Glenn-Gould-like clarity that I like.

  • i love his entrances on the main theme, very on point.

  • Most people here doesn't really have a clue about playing piano and this kind of music but they still act like they are the grandsons of the grandsons of beethoven, i would simply disable comments

  • @lightingthesky freddy kempf

  • Who's the pianist?

  • I love the presto effect that he brings to this. The tempo is good if you're in a... "wanting to be impressed" mood.

  • @newworldodour Just shut up and listen to the music, and do a bit of research before you say anything about a master of music. Beethoven isn't capable of saying a lot with a few notes!? Two words little child: Moonlight Sonata.

  • i think its played a little bit to fast

  • @geweetwelful agree

  • Fast fingers

  • Beautiful piece. Way too fast. Hurried. He has some fast fi ge

  • He has long fingers.

  • He has

  • okay okay not me. and i didn't say i could play it any better than him. so =) im not against him you know. i watch this at least 5 times a day

  • If the camera had been any worse, his fingers would be blurred. Through nearly the entire video.

  • a few wrong notes here and there, but still wonderfully mesmerizing =) however, IMHO, he went just abit too fast. AND IT SOUNDS MUCH BETTER! =D

  • @holykows who cares about wrong notes? I still bet he can play it better than you.

  • HEY I'M PLAYING THIS PIECE TOO!!! ....and I guess i'd better go practice it some more

  • I remember when i was a little younger. I listened to this music and said "Wow! what a composition!!! One of the best of the universe!!!" Beethoven is great!!! and then said mmm but there is another musician who plays another perfect melody likes beethoven. I was talking about the moonlight sonata written by Beethoven too Jajajajajaja... But i didnt know that the other prefect music was the same JAJAJAJA

  • pazei xalia !!!! isws kai o xeiroteros pianistas ston kosmo !

  • I love the 3:40 chord...

  • stinks

  • I think that the 32 people thought it was too fast. I can understand... I think the A section is played a bit faster. Maybe he was nervous XD

  • The best music of the universe

  • Oh!! nice♪

  • The young mans fingers are indeed quite agile and nimble, but the performance suffers severely from bad taste - full of affectations. The young man hopelessly injects his overly impetuous and youthful personality into every phrase. I believe he will eventually learn to subordinate this self-consciousness to a higher musical expression.

  • @lourak the speed has affected many of the phrases within the music his runs and trills weren't as clear as it should. There were moments were the transitions seemed too rushed. However, it was nonetheless a wonderful performance with personality and flare.

  • @lourak

You cant play better. And dont pretend you know anything about music. Those "mistakes" were by far just stressed notation. The sound quality is good, his playing is wonderful.

  • @lourak you think you know everything

  • freddy kempf is so marvellus ... !!! ♥

  • @jeaness1 he is also handsome!!!

  • this is some of the hardest music in the world, not because of pure technical difficulty, but because any misplaced note or poor quality phrasing stands out like a sore thumb and that's what the audience remember!

  • how much time take to learn a piece like this? based on an advanced stage

  • Can anyone tell me how pathetique is supposed to be pronounce?

  • @weldon29 pah the ti ke

  • @weldon29 Path-eh-teek

Perhaps with some what of an accent on the "ee".

  • @weldon29 I know that you have had two replies already, but I'm pretty sure that it is pronouced with a 't' sound instead of 'th'.

  • automatic fast forward button built into his hands much?

  • @DerImperator100 he is absolutely separate man. but this so disturbs looking for his recordings at the web :-(((

  • very nice, but i think its a way too fast,

hes just playing it all down without much interpretation, i think.

and no, i cant do it better

  • @Pleetzken yeah? well lets see you do it be- oh... ok.

  • I'm learning this piece...wish I was this good... :(
