  • IT'S ME.

  • i wanna play jazz

  • Hey that's the same year the very first American muscle car came out the Pontiac GTO.

  • Who are the educated people that liked this?

  • GOD BLESS LOUIE!

  • This song and every musician in it is a-a-amazin

  • UN CAPOLAVORO!!!!

  • and there i thought the clarinet was a boring instrument.

  • what a Precious fragments~

  • This is music in its very soul! I am 17 years old, sometimes listen to regular pop but when i really listen to music i like, old pops is always my first choice!

  • on clarinet plays not Joe Darensburg only Eddie Shu!

  • He is amazing

  • I saw this version of the group at the Cleveland Sportsmans/Boat Show in the early 60's. Big Chief was something to see- I remember him. He wailed on that trombone. Met Louie back stage (we walked around a curtain) and talked during his break. Class act- seemed tired and was quiet. Hardly more than a sliver of skin for an upper lip. Danny Barcelona cut-loose on the drums while the band took another break. I've always remembered that terrific show....

  • What are the words he's saying at 1:00 lol I can't understand that part but I like his singing

  • @StarXGamerEX Its scat singing foo.

  • This is NICE!

  • And all of the other people in this band! Everyone was amazing!

  • this is now my all time favorite song. I love Louis Armstrong!!!

  • magia compadres esto es magia ¡¡

  • How about that Bassist?! 0_o

  • I love this song. Were doing this song in school.

  • The first jazz song I learned in grade school...

  • @jevonj77 Same here. I was on trombone. This is what it was made for, I think.

  • Eccesso di intelligenza e raffinatezza.

  • this is the best.

  • keep hitting 1:04

  • superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Legend !

  • best in the world:)

  • Satchmo's trumpet ,a balanced model, valves forward, could be a Emo or a Rudy Mueck?? or Selmer. the music is as strong as ever

  • I agree

  • Who is the one uneducated idiot who dislikes this?

  • The correct date of this show is February 2, 1965, not 1964.

  • Yeah, swing it Big Chief!

  • whose the trombonist?

  • @Dasummerbreez Big Chief Russell Moore. He replaced Trummy Young late 1963 shortly after recording Hello Dolly. Tyree Glenn replaced Big Chief and from what I read organized Armstrong's tours in his later years before becoming too ill to perform in the late 60's.

  • thank you for posting this! at 2:33 Armstrong's eyes look funny. although he's looking straight upward, it seems as if he looked to Darensbourg...

  • @jazzanova68 Armstrong frequently did this mannerism if you notice any of his trumpet solos. Perhaps he did it just as most people look up when trying to recall something to mind. At any rate it's a joy to listen to.

  • @jazzanova68 The clarinetist is Eddie Shu.

  • Incredible chops for ANY horn player that age...Pops pulls off another great performance!

  • great Armstrong

  • viva La New Orleans!

  • GO SATCH!

  • Louis Armstrong is BOSS

  • the chelo player got skills

  • true that. the big chief brings it in a timeless way.

  • Well that was a wonderful live performance relived here just before at one of the library computers down in Southport while it`s raining cats and dogs...oh beautiful language...well i`m gonna post it....thanks Louis Amstrong and friends...

  • Wow...if only I could play the clarinet that way. I just got one a month ago and this is definately inspiring. Love you Louie...Always!

  • BEAUTIFUL,BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL..... THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO.

  • Wow, what a band...simply amazing.

  • A true musician, from playing to singing.

  • Bring back the good ole days

  • Smokin' hot!

  • *clap*clap*awesome...loving the drums and bass

  • I loved that clarinet solo!

  • just too cool!

  • Thanks to the fucking hippies/commie scum and shit eating progressive/liberals who went out of their way to make sure to undermine Jazz music that today the true American music is now relegated to little corners of the musical spectrum.

  • rangatira e hoa e Louie

  • Simply Wonderful!!

  • fat people always play the trombone better

  • esta bueno

  • excelente, fantastico

  • This is so wonderful! What's name of the musicians? And where was this recorded?

  • "Big Chief" is sure blowing it the way I like it. Best use of a toilet plunger ever.

  • @trydreamin Russell "Big Chief" Moore was married to my elementary school teacher, Ida Powlas Moore. I'll never forget her playing his recordings and telling us about his work with Louis.

  • @BrianHamiltonTV: wow! Thanks for sharing.

  • @trydreamin I think Joe Nanton had the best plunger effect in the world :)

  • The first Native American T-bone player ever??? Go Big Chief!!!

  • where's the piano solooooo!??!!

  • Little Louis done good

  • amazing. i love this kinda music. listen to it everyday

  • Clarinet player is definetly Eddie Shu, and the year: 1965.

    Thanks!

  • Yes indeed, it was actually broadcast exactly year after, February 2, 1965

  • Maravilloso, muchas gracias.

  • Arvell Shaw.....

  • I really wish this video was longer

  • DAMMMMMMMMM

  • 1st class swing Jazz!

  • school band is playing this song =D

  • well fine ill say it ... SAME HERE.

  • god bless ya pops

  • The level of instrument play is higher than the 1959 performance of this, but the 1959 performance was my favorite Armstrong vocal.

  • Agreed Eugene! The '59 performance vocals were fantastic.....

  • que maravilla!

  • my jazz band played this song in grade school. but it was a different version. and the trombone had the beginning solo and a middle one. ours rocked anyway.

  • Louis is great, of course, but Big Chief or "that clarinetist" played very well, too. Excellent song!

  • Don't forget the bassist!!

  • I don't know the clarinetest but I don't think it's Joe Darensburgh (sp?)

  • The clarinet player is Eddie Shu.

  • Beautiful!

The most multiethnic version of the All-Stars!

    The clarinetist is Eddie Shu.

    Nicola Ardenghi

  • The correct date is 2/2/65.
