  • @meghauw Yeah there aren't really great instructions for doing henna except for online - that's partially why I made this video :) Did it turn out nice anyway?

  • Oops, just put all the henna in my hair, but didn't let it sit for more than 15 minutes. Didn't say so on the package.

Very nice cat by the way :-).

  • Hair oxidizes more when you use a liquid as acidic as lemon juice. It holds the stain better but it will darken and be a little more brown than if you used water or tea.

I've been using henna for months and I have orange/red hair.

As long as your hair is in good condition too you can stain with henna weeks after using hair color. Strand test first to make sure you like the color and only use BAQ(Body Art Quality). 100% pure BAQ henna will not make you hair fall out.

  • nice video...your hair looks great

  • this is great... i've never heard of someone using Papreka...

oh and you have a great cat!

  • Fantastic color! And great video too. Thanks for sharing.

  • wow, your hair came out out beautiful!

  • Beautiful!

  • Lemon makes the color come out lighter?

  • yeah because of the acid from the lemons sort of makes a chemical reaction thingy to the henna.

and also..u can just lighten ur hair just with lemons.

or beer and just stay out in the sun with the hair soaked in either solution.

i find beer to be the most trustworthy..

just using plain lemon on hair dries the hair

  • Great video! Thanks for educating us :-) Can't wait to try it.

  • ...is the paprika essential when ur going to add in the tea mixture?

  • your hair came out so preety

  • good video, very beautiful, thick hair as a result, really excited to dye my hair red now ^_^

  • my mom bought this persian blonde henna for me to use......

my hair is darker blonde right now... im scared what will it do???

  • uu need to go to the bueaty salon and have them bleach your hair becouse henna is a permenant Hair dye and its hard to remove.

  • no i wont do that

  • You should never dye your hair again after the Henna has been added because that will completely destroy your hair. The problem with Henna is you have to let you natural hair grow back out before dying it with commercial brand hair dye. Another tip is if you have dyed your hair with commercial brand hair dye before 2 months have gone by and you want ti dye your hair with Henna, it can also turn out bad. Oh and never use compound henna because it can end very badly and most of the time it does.

  • nooooooooo lol never bleach or colour your hair while you have henna in it for a long time or it will fall out drastically!!!!

  • I'm not so sure that actually happens - my stepmother has used henna for years and she got blonde highlights in her hair a few months ago. Her hair is fine and it looks awesome! I think if you use real top quality henna and bleach over it you won't have a problem - the chemical henna is where things could get bad. But always do a test strand first of course ^^

  • Yea but i think you should wait at least six months when you have henna and want to colour it or vice versa.. its unhealthy not to do so even if hair loss does not occur.

  • I can reccomend the Henna's from the natural fresh handmade cosmetics store Lush. They come in big cubes, and they contain lemon juice, coffee etc. all the things you will need to add!

  • quick question - is there no added benefit to mixing the cubes with any more lemon juice? I have some caca brun and caca rouge (lolol) and the instructions just say use hot water

  • I've heard some not too great things about the Lush henna but I don't know for sure because I haven't used it myself - adding lemon juice will make the red more vibrant and add natural highlights - I don't know if it will help more but it certainly couldn't hurt. Unless your hair is really really dry - lemon could dry your hair out more T_T

  • I have used the Lush henna for years, and can tell you it is great! The Lemon juice will NOT dry your hair out, because there is loads of cocoabutter added to the Lush henna

  • It will make it more brighter, like strong coffee of strong tea instead of adding watermakes it darker!

  • @Leinaah omg thanks that was helpful! =)

  • I luv henna :) i use Yemeni henna, which is the absolute best, and i mix it with red tea and yogurt. if u have dry hair, oil it with a good hair oil first then apply the henna. its also way easier to mix with ur hands, just wear rubber gloves :) for a darker color mix with Turkish coffee

  • lol

i think the powder's green bcuz henna's a plant right?

and the cat was funny in the beginning lol

..but your hair came out great! i'm def using your instructions! thx (=

  • yeah it's because it's a plant - I don't know why I said that in the video, it was like my first time dying and it kind of took me by surprise - maybe I expected it to be a red plant? :P

  • i always/have to use black hair dye henna and i have to leave it on AAAAAAAAAAALLLL night its so annoying is there another way?or am i just doing it completely wrong?

  • what color hair do you have? Are you letting the dye sit out mixed for at least 24 hours for the dye release?

  • @Domsworld86 best way to get black is to first dye it with the natural henna, go ginger. then dye ontop of it with indigo (same amounts). that always makes black and it will last long.

  • good video. interesting ! you made it seem easy.

  • hey did u add water?

  • I didn't add water but you can if you want - I just use lemon juice by itself now :)

  • Wow. That is awesome!!

  • loved the color

  • Excellent! You did a very good job. The fact you added oil to it sold me.

  • Henna is a plant that grows in Europe and the Middle East. It's completely natural but there are some companies that sell compound hennas which contain a very small amount of LOW quality henna. The rest is fillers, and harmful chemicals like metallic salts and ppd's that can drastically damage your hair making it brittle and even causing breakage. Real henna will be a green colored powder and smell like hay.

  • does any one think they can help me dye my hair

  • what do you mean help you - like physically? lol I wish I had someone helping me..

  • Hey, I didnt understand the tea part...?

    What is it for..?

  • it supposedly makes the red color more intense - I used Red Zinger tea :)

  • hey il help you with your henna if you help me with mine

  • OMG!! IM GONNA DO THAT NOW!

  • haha its pronounced

    meh-hen-dee

    lol

  • its easier to apply to your hair if you mix the henna in a sandwich bag, instead of a bowl. Then when ready to use just snip the bottom corner of the bag and apply it like a "cone"

    suggest a suggestion...

    btw, your hair looks lovely:)

  • *just a suggestion*

  • Btw, it looks so beautiful! Congrats!

  • THanks for uploading this video!

DO you know any good Henna sellers in Europe? I mean, it's really expensive to get it from the US :)

  • chk out any Indian grocery or amazon..they shud have it

  • nice color

  • Gorgeous! I henna my hair too and I love it.

  • You're an idiot. If you don't have anything constructive to add then stfu. You're the only one that thinks she talks funny anyways. Maybe you need to clean out your ears so you can hear better.

  • Do you leave the henna in or out of the refrigerator after it is mixed?

  • The proses goes faster if you leave the henna in a warm place.

  • its green because its a gound leaves...yeah...

and mehendhi is meh-n-dh-E just thought id mention...nice colour ^__^
