I have a video on my page that I uploaded back in May 2010, it shows the last 8 minutes of my attempt to break the Crazy Taxi world record in the arcade version of the game. I use different settings for different version of the game because I want to play with the settings that were used for the world records. Dreamcast's world record was 70/1/3 and Arcade world record was 65/3/6. Thank you all for the comments. :D

I bought a dreamcast back in the day prolly around 98 or 99 and bought this game i know for a fact i got over a 100k and i picked up everyone on the map i had plenty of time left over 40 seconds and i could not find anyone on the map to pick up !!! I did this several times where i had all the time in the world but couldn't find anyone to pick up to drive around !

I' know the game is cheap now because it's old. My message was for people who say "those were the times" or "games like Crazy Taxi would still be produced"...so I wouldn't pay $50 for a NEW game like this.

@Aguz25 Not everyone does, especially people with not a lot of time to play videogames (see the huge casual games market). But even when the ports came out, Crazy Taxi was criticised for not providing any progression or achievement beyond high scores. Works great for an Arcade game. For a home conversion, not so much.

Is this video has been accelerated or did you use speed hack or something? You are using this car too fast maybe pc version is different :( engine sound and transmission is too different :( maybe there is a technic for this :( my score is $ 88.102.72 with 183 customer :)

I allways play Gus before he's the toughest one :) and he's the won i allways win most cost with.

But that's soo unfair, i got this game for pc, and on the meny, i see everyone have so much more options then i have, my pc against others pc's and even playstation.

@yidarmy2007 Yes sir. The reason I used those setting it's because the world record for the consoles (Dreamcast) by Erik Mooney was done with those settings and I wanted to see how far I could get with those settings. I usually play on 65/3/6 settings on the arcade. =)

i will say this before and i will say it again this is one of the most positive games that i have ever played i love the amount of energy and feedback that the customers give the take drivers for example when the man says YEAH (2:35,3:08,3:15, 8:21, 8:23) i like when the lady laughs at 3:35 when she says okay you get a tap at 3:43 (funny and sexy at the same time) then she says ALRIGHT (3:44, 3:45, 4:07) YO DUDE (4:05) when the woman says YEAH (5:49, 7:29, 7:45, (9:34 ) when she says COOL (7:22)

I still find this interesting. Me and my brother used to play this a lot back in the day, and we noticed he seems to pick up particular individuals. Do these always want to go to the same place, or is it by chance that these customers take the driver to where he wants to go, or is there no reason behind any of it? Also, meh on the time and traffic.. i know it's done with other world records, but we played on much higher settings...I think that's what helped us get bigger scores on tip though.

This guys clearly all about the control, he's consistantly speedy so his time keeps going up. Perhaps him using drifts would lower his times by a second or so, just enough to drop his ratings and make his timer fall. Earning time is better than earning points.

@TornadoCreator Time is specially important on my final lap around the city were there are less customers and I have to go forward without any customers, pick one up, drop the customer off at the destination and go forward without any customers, so time really helps there. ^o^
