  • The person acting as Marine is a current head of Slovenian branch of Kashima Shinryu.

Enter Kunii Zen'ya, who never refused (or lost) a challenge. The details of that match are then recreated by the current soke, Seki Fumitake. Kunii had a bokken. The opposing Marine had an actual bayonet. What Seki demonstrates is how Kunii won the match. He knew the butt with the rifle was going to come, so he was already stepping out of it's range as he dodged the initial bayonet thrust. then came in with the strike to the neck, bringing the Marine down with no major damage.

  • When GHQ banned budo training in schools, Sasamori Junzo, politician and 16th soke of Ono-ha Itto-ryu, continuously tried to convince them that budo was an important cultural artifact of Japan, and that at it's highest level was meant to defeat the opponent without causing harm. The response was, "Okay, if that's the way it is, show us against a bayonet instructor."

  • why did they have a foreign guy being the jukendo uke?
