Where does Sanchin-Tensho come from? I have seen the combination before. But I am wondering if it was from Dai Sensei Yagi Meitoku or from Meitatsu Sensei's contribution. Also, I recall the last two movements being done differently - one from Shujaku and one from Genbu endings. Perhaps that was done here and I missed it? As for the gray hair, I have also not seen Meitatsu Sensei in more than 15 years...then again, I'm looking older too, haha. Many thanks for posting the vid!
Dear Aiko Sama: Sensei discredited by you are over 60 years old, and most began training before the age of 10... meaning they've been training for over 50 years... I hope your mutsubi dachi is still ok after being training for 50 or in the case of Yagi Meitoku Dai Sensei, for over 70 years... I really hope we all be performing kata before an audience at age 90... I find your critisism very harsh, especially on teachers that we are not worthy to talk about... respect and humbleness my friend...
@ArukiI Truth be told...he may have been practicing for over fifty years but if his performance on this kata is not good then their is a logical reason why. I have seen other videos of him and he looks excelent. So maybe this performance is showing some underlying health problem...
Wow, to be able to comment on the strength or weakness of the stance of a 10th degree black belt who trained with Miyagi Chojun. You must be at least, what? 15th? 20th degree black belt?
Amazing martial arts training video and I enjoyed the quality. I want to show you this style of training to you. - Wing Chun Practise Tool - just do a search for the martialarm in youtube or google.
Well...we are all entitled to our own opinions. The brothers both have their strengths and weaknesses (as do we all). In my opinion, Meitatsu sensei's stances are very weak. But, that could be do to a physical issue, not any lack of actual skill on his own part.
So, what exactly do you base your own opinion on, might I ask?
Oops. I thought Meitetsu Sensei s stances are much weaker.. There s a clip of he performing seiunchin, and i commented abt tht and got so many offences.. but, wht i told is truth.. Same abt Meitoku Yagi Sensei. Weak stances, and lean forward in shiko and nekoashi dachi.. tht s the truth..
And again, as I told you in that other post, that is the "Truth" as you see it. As individuals, we all have our own perseptions (or truths) as to what works (and what doesn't work).
Are you honestly basing your "truth" about a founder of a system on one video posted on youtube?! Give some concrete, valid, (and unbiased) facts to back up your so-called "truth" about Dai Sensei Yagi, and his supposed weak stances.
He spent a lifetime training and honing his skills...so much so, that he was recognized for his achievements and awarded the title of a Japanese National living treasure! So show some respect where it is due! He more than earned it...God rest his soul.
I havent insulted Meitoku Yagi Sensei. Wht I told is he and meitesu both has bead stances. Tht s all and I dont get bkmy words, coz wht i told is truth. and deep bow to whole Yagi family
wow, Meitatsu Yagi has gotten a lot more grey hairs the past few years. Either that or he used to dye it, because he had a full head of black hair when I saw him a few years ago, lol. Anyway, nice vid.
