  • Thanks for taking time to share your input on this locomotive. I'm just starting out in this hobby and appreciate all the hints and tips you guys give.

  • That Is one cool locomotive! I just ordered mine yesterday! Along with my MTH sd70M-2 NS. I was wondering if you could control the radio chatter with the progity express DCC system/ or with yours

  • @madbeastification Well, I can controller the chatter to a point. By hitting F4 on my Prodigy Advance I can go through a series of radio chatter sequences. Otherwise when it sits idling it will play some chatter. Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy your new units!

  • I have some BLI engines and an MTH F3 that start at 1MPH. I still prefer my MTH engines though. Good video!

  • I bought me a pair of BNSF SD70ACe's.

The only thing I don't like is that the horn is not loud enough on neither one of them. It's easy to turn the volume for all sounds in general together. But, to turn the volume up on the horn, you really have to have the DCS system?

  • @mcglock17 Yeah I noticed that too, although it sounds pretty good, in reality the horn is WAAAY loader than any other sound you'd hear on the loco. I think you are right about the DCS being able to control the level of sound on the horn. I've got 2 BNSF units, UP 8321, Rio Grande, Katy, Chicago, and the MP units. Love them all! Some of the Heritage units have some different sound effects on them. Glad MTH mixed it up a bit.

  • Nice! Iam ordering mine just as soon as my new credit card comes.

  • love mth chatter makes it super realistic feature.

  • Where did you get it from

  • is this a loud engine? and does it run smooth? I am thinking about getting the BNSF fleet

  • It CAN be loud but the volume control is very easy. F6 has 7 different levels of volume you can choose from. From very quiet to pretty loud. The sound is very crisp too, best sound I've heard yet.

  • Looks so cool

  • Do real sd70ace's have flashing ditch lights?

  • Yup.

  • @Addicted2Guitars

Not all of them. The UP nor the BNSF have flashing ditch lights.

  • @casslakechris

Isn't that a feature/switch they would turn on when they approach a level crossing? I have no idea but would assume that they can turn that function on and off.

  • Nice! its worth the wait.

  • Where did you purchase that locomotive from?

  • I just got my BNSF unit yesterday man. Great engine and detail!

  • Glad to hear it man! Enjoy it!

  • thanks! nice video 5***

  • Thanks for the overview on the details, sound, & lighting. I have only seen one in person and the sound was unreal along with superb detail. So I put in order in for 3 BNSF's and have been waiting for 3 months and no word when they are coming in. My local train shop has only seen one since the release date and they are a pretty large shop so I thought they would be getting them in a lil sooner than some smaller shops. Oh well, worth the wait. Thanks again, keep up the good work.

  • Howdy and thanks! I hear ya on the wait bro. But I have great news for ya, I just recieved my BNSF unit this past weekend and will be filming a video on it and the Rio Grande Heritage I've had a little while now. So you should be recieving your's soon.

  • Cool Unit. I have some of Mikes stuff in O gauge, Love it.

  • I got mine in October...the same UP unit as in this video. Ordered it in February, but after seeing how well this unit is done, I have to admit it was worth the wait!

  • very nice loco!

    great vid...

    :)

    peace

  • Thanks man!

  • That's probably because my camera isn't that great. The flag on this unit looks better than the one on my Genesis unit.

  • Well, to each their own I guess. I like it :-)

  • agrees very nice engine, it's comparable to tower55.

  • totaly cool! ........ Now I gotta go clean up all this drool!!!! Thanks alot!!!!

  • WOW man i wonder if MTH makes N scale stuff cause that is nice man 5*

  • Great loco and video. It doesn't support advanced consisting as the CV doesn't exist in MTH, so you will have to use Old style/Universal consisting. You will have to program it in Ops mode where you enter the loco address on the main. The MTH locos are very fast and the only locos I have found to consist through out the full speed table are Athearn Genesis or other MTH locos.

  • AHH ok, universal consisting is an option with my DCC system so any consist I do with these locos will have to be old school then. Sweet, at least a consist can be done. Thanks for the info!

  • that a really cool loco

  • awesome engine! do u knw if MTH makes SD70M-2 in NS? 5/5

  • Yes, they will come out with the SD70M-2 first with FEC, CN and NS and the NS will be in 3 road numbers

  • oh cool ill have to pick one up thanks

  • awesome dude! i was thinking about waiting for the athearn one but i think the MTH one is prob work the money. i love the coupler system the best

  • very nice machine...)

  • nice engine buddy

  • SICK!!! i love it...u should give it to me...lmao jk but it looks nice man!
