It's highly ironic this concert took place in the USA where 100% of the country was stolen from the native people. I believe in freeing Tibet, but let's also free the USA...oh wait, almost all Native Americans have been wiped out and the rest relegated to "reservations". At least the Tibetans haven't been nearly wiped out like the Native Americans. When will the UK give back Ireland to the Irish? When will the Israelis give back the land they stole to the Arabs? Free all these places!!!
Rocking to bring back the 14th century, slave-owning, feudal Theocracy under the Dalai Lama, where 95 % of Tibetans were serfs or slaves.
The Dalai Lama owned 6,000 slaves, 27 estates, and 30 ranches, 600,000 ounces of gold, and 96 Million ounces of silver. I guess he misses his slaves, land, and money back in feudal Tibet.
@banzaidawan I suppose you were opposed to the fall of the Soviet Empire, too, because of the serfdom that existed beforehand in that area historically.
I was at the show as well. U2 was a "suprise" act and even though i'm not a huge fan, they were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time. To see them share the stage and comply to the same 25 minute ( i think) set length as everyone else was a nice gesture from such a huge presence.
This show is very interesting because it's a rare opportunity to see U2 during the Pop Mart era not playing their regular spectacular gig. And without that huge screen behind them... This is very strange, almost funny.

Great performance, but "Free Tibet" is a joke. The Dalai Lama is a cheeseball, living in a palace in India and mansion in Beverly Hills playing pass the gerbil with Richard Gere while his "people" are dealing. Read about how his clique has been oppressing separate Tibetan groups in India that don't support his theologies. He's not Ghandi, he's not Mandela, just a fucking cheeseball that doesn't walk the walk.
you're a hater. Nobody cares about the opinions of haters.
U2 is the opposite.
Dalai Lama is the opposite.
CHINAZI WANT TO GROUP EVERYONE WHO IS FOR A FREE TIBET AS THE DL CLIQUE. nice try you brainwashed nationalist propaganda robot. Why dont you move to Tibet with all the other Chinese invaders and forcefully take over and set up shop there and say you've been there all along?Atrocities in Tibet aren't allowed to be reported on b/c there's no free press. Commie policy is the enemy of truth

Tibetan issue is not the first important issue that Bono is devoted to. This time Love and Peace will win again.

To be one, to be be united is a great thing, but to respect the right to be different is maybe even greater.
