I just saw this re-run on tv and they cut out the whole car bit, wtf? They went straight from Elaine saying "they call him the cleaner" to Newman saying where are they.
The cleaner scene is from the movies Point of No Return and the French film Nikita.
The cleaner comes in with bottles of acid to pour on the faces on dead bodies after a mission went bad. Both good movies, they made the TV series Nikita from both of those movies.
Sorry to disagree, but if you wanted the French movie Nikita its a scene from Nikita and Point of no return.
Where are the bottles? In the above shows there were bottles of acid, and he was called the Cleaner. I have both movies. You can search youtube and you will see the cleaner from Point of no return scene.
its a very vague reference...the acura NSX was Harvey Kietels car when Jackson and Travolta killed the guy in the back of their car in broad daylight, and they needed to hire the "cleaner".
@warrzor unoe at around 1:05 while newman takes the first bite, u can actually hear the sound of pouring milk... maybe newmans so pro that he actually pours the milk without looking.. which would also explain the spilt milk you see in the full view shot after XD
@warrzor yea lol but you can see that he clearly used the milk that was inside one of the bottles as it's not full anymore when he starts drinking. we just didn't see him pour any of it cos' it would take too much time for a scene like this and break its momentum. and as jerry says, the most important thing about comedy is timing. ;)
as a matter of fact he DOES pour milk! first of all, the remaining milk in the bottle is still shaking when he picks up the glass, and plus you can somewhat hear it when Newman takes his first bite! he just does that without looking :)))
It's a crossover joke from Pulp Fiction. The Wolf, played by Harvey Keitel, drove that car and was hired to make problems disappear. In the movies case it was a dead body...but with Newman...it can only be food.
see if tha was my shop i would buy cake icing and turn the stumps into cakes and sell them in baskets or individually that way ur still getting rid of them and make a nice bit of profit
Kramer and Wayne deserved more screen time - their partnership was hilaroious !!!

dude i saw this and mr. wolf poped out.
the way the scene is shot is the same.
Like the part where newman gets out of the car
quentin did the same shot when mr. wolf gets out
peggysue42 2 years ago
actually the cleaner from Point of No Return was played by harvey keitel.. and he played Mr. Wolf from Pulp Fiction.
So therefore they are parodying both movies.
IAmDeafSoGiveMeADola 1 year ago
@IAmDeafSoGiveMeADola In "Pulp Fiction", Mr Wolf had a silver NSX, while Newman's is black. Great parody scene, though.

The part when Newman is driving the car is missing from some part of Seinfeld on tv, anybody knows why?
jepjep07 3 years ago
I noticed that too. Maybe to shorten the episode. Also the 1 episode that is banned from sindication is the "Puerto Rican Day Parade" episode.
