Mini Humbuckers? i dont know why they build them in that les paul....i think there is enough space for normal humbuckers so where is the sense of the minis?
@socccero Mini Humbuckers give the Les Paul Deluxe a brighter sound than standard sized Humbuckers on a Les Paul Standard or Custom but only about 75% of the volume .They were designed for the player who would also favour EG Teles or similar .I have always enjoyed listening to Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson playing Deluxes on several of Thin Lizzy's classic albums. An example of the in-between option on a Deluxe that is brilliant is on a song called 'This Is The Day' by Captain Beefheart .
well mate, what i have to say about your solo is that u need speed practice, and another thing i saw is that u need to do a scale shape training ok? iam a guitarrist i know what iam saying bye bye
@3763Anthony i might be wrong, but the reason could be that the licks stratocasterbob is playing are from an album that clapton played his 1960 "beano" les paul on...that might also explain the "borrowed" bit. anyhow, nice playing!
is this an Epiphone or a Gibson i was thinking of getting an epiphone standard ultra does anyone know if its a good guitar or not? is there alot of difference between epi and Gibson?
@mtbxcfreak I own an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and its by far the best guitar i've ever had.. The most ive played on a Gibson is at the guitar showroom where i picked up my epiphone.. Gibsons have name but they are too over-priced IMO.. Sound wise there would a difference.. however if you have good pick ups on your epiphone your good to go.. but in the end it all depends on your price range.. If you can afford a Gibson don't look the other way! =)
Yeah, in certain aspects, but crikeys different axes for different applications bro. A strat don't work anywhere near as good as a say, a Les Paul for crunchy hard rock.
I used to own the Les Paul Deluxe, (cherry sunburst) but couldn't really take to the small humbuckers, and had to revert to the Les Paul Custom with the 'regular' humbuckers as I missed the more meaty tones.
You play very well man and have a fantastic guitar (someday i'll have my les paul too), but that sounds too much funk you know. It's kind a soul mixed with blues... but anyway, you're a good player!!!
Bob, I just happened on your videos today while searching for something (which I have now forgotten). You really appear to have "researched" the different music types. Your playing is excellent, and damn, I love the costuming.
sounds great Bob ,real good groove man, thats a great LP man I remember the small humbuckers I had bought a brand new LP custom In 1977 for 650 Bucks I wish i still had it,I had to sell it a few years ago to pay for a Lawyer LOL,at least I didn't have to goto jail that time LOL,peace Bro
man i dig the way you dress for all of your vids its so kool... you played this great reminds me of clapton... ive never seen mini humbuckers they sound great
