Only just seen your post relating to the Japanese lyrics - they translate to "Goodbye Forever" - it is a reference to Gary retiring from touring and saying "Goodbye" to the fans. Hope that helps!
OMG we were there two consecutive nights. That was 30 years ago. OMG that means we're OLD. The lighting show was amazing and there was rumour it alone cost a million pounds.
isn't it funny, if it really had been a farewell concert and he hadn't made anymore music, i don't think the critics' current perception of him would have been any different. the number of people on youtube who i've seen shocked to find out that he's done over twenty albums. and no one knew.
What is the phrase he sings at around 5:30? I looked up the lyrics, and it said "Japanese phrase" but didn't include it - its like "Ohhhhhh I kally - yoo..."
To be honest, I don't know either. Numan adds lyrics to a lot of his songs throughout the concert. Numan uses almost completely different lyrics when he sings I'm an Agent. He adds lyrics to other songs like Are Friends Electric.
Apparently it means 'I'm Leaving Now' in Japanese. Given that he wanted out of touring etc and Telekon is about his disdain for the music industry in general, it fits nicely.

@JackBlair2 I read in some liner notes a few years back that the Japanese translates to "I miss you" or some similar sentiment. Anyway, the original vinyl back in 1980 had the japanese characters spelled out in their proper place in the lyrics.
@Rage2552 I agree completely, one lucky Numanoid! I would kill to have seen him at this time. Of course I would have only been 6 years old but..........
Absolutely flawless; still. One of a kind - no one else even comes close.

According to his auto biography, they put bass speakers in the depths of the arena, to get the humungus bass sound...Wish i'd been there....

The intro music reminds me a lot of the Blade Runner soundtrack.
