after hating the game for several days (trying this mission), i did it with slowing towers on top plateau, with AA-turrets to destroy the overlords (otherwise they would provide vision for the lisks to shoot), masses of tanks and cruisers.

not destroying nydas though. (and no fire towers, didnt unlock them)

could not do without nova though :/

Nice. Yeah I keep getting unlucky with her Maelstrom ability, I don't mind the insta-kill because as long as she doesn't target a 3rd tier unit it's not a hassle to replace, but you cannot just sit in the Maelstrom and tank it. You die so fast.

I actually beat this using the nova once...at 3:10 am last tuesday. Battle.net came down right before multiple +90 failures so no chieves lol. Been trying for the last 2 hours and can't replicate it. I wasnt building flame turrets up there though and would repeatedly lose the last time kerrigan came.

Epic man. I only beat this on normal after 2 tries. Lots to learn that is fairly practical in this one compared to most of the other missions.

Good base defense throughout the base not just at perimiters, good smart use of paths. Setting up clear unit production goals also helped no end it seems.

Would it have been worth it to add a couple wraiths in each banshee group?

Well, after seeing that many Maelstrom rounds Kerrigan took without dying... I'm not surprised my 3-tabs handful of Mutalisks died so easily.

I liked using spell caster more. You set up like 4-5 tanks 3 bunkers and 2 of the psi disruptors at both entrances (also lotta flame turrets). Then put mass ghost/raven/bc/spectrenext to the artifact and then every time kerrigan comes mass snipe/seeker/yamato/200 damage spectre attack (i forget what it is called).

Kerrigan drops like a rock.

Same strategy I used, plus I lost all banshees towards the end. Micro gets tough in this level because you've got to keep an eye on your main base at pretty much all times, and the nydus are relentless towards the end.

He took the earlier mission that meant he had to fight nydus rather than air. Having to watch for nydus worms is alot easier than having to fight tons of broodlords and air. U can win in hard mode on this without much difficulty but it is ALOT harder to fight hard mode when u gotta fight air.

Most people don't really watch the video to its entirety (youtube hotspots tell u this btw) so they miss that epic ending sadly :)

@pandelosu His tactics are quite intuitive. When I got to choose between no nydus and no flyers, I immediately went like, no broodlords = tanks all the way.

And there are harder missions in the campaign, mainly depending on your tech level. With my respective tech levels, I found Welcome to the Jungle, The Great Train Robbery and Engine of Destruction the hardest. In Utter Darkness was challenging as well until I found some superior tactics.

Beat every brutal mission except this one... I came this far without problem and I just can't beat this >,< No matter what, my banshees get shot down when cloaked and everything gets overrun even with psi emitter.

Because you are not showing the beginning of this game (the entire game) that is making me think you are cheating, how you get so many siege tanks to survive and banshees and those flame turrets (don't remember what they are called) I can see how if you managed to build up that much you could easily do this, but thats not my problem my problem is that how you get them all to survive esp when karigen (or how ever you spell it) comes to kill you.

@huayun1234 y, sure. i just built them because i had so many minerals. if you researched the turrets for the bunkers, you could build mass bunkers for example :)

or build command centres on the platform to prevent nydoscanals from spawning.

but you don't need them at all, just keep your banshees alive especially in the later stage of the game always watch them.
