wonder if anyone can help me: whenever I try to use the hammer level editor I just get "program not responding" and have to close it. My PC is easily able to run L4D and L4D2 yet I cant make the level editor work. I use Windows 7 x64. Any help would greatly be appreciated because I've got great ideas for L4D maps... btw I also get an error about some half life 2 fonts...

@goldendisc Hammer takes like 10 mins to load the very first time, and about 3 mins every time after that. The missing half life 2 fonts are normal.

you have to create a nav mesh which you do in game on the map itself. you have to type these console commands:

sv_cheats 1 *allows you to do extra shiz*

nav_edit 1 *allows you to use nav commands and edit the nav mesh*

nav_mark_walkable *creates a marker to go off of so you can create the nav mesh*

nav_generate_incremental *pretty much sets up the nav mesh based on the marker*

through steam, you can only get it if you own L4D. Once you own L4D go to the tools tab, and find L4D authoring tools, and install it. the valve hamer editor will be inside that package
