  • Does anyone know why Hooded Claw wants to kill her and what is that hilarious accent she has ?

It is a positive thing that she as a pretty lady interests the villain only as a killing object. Good to see girls were treated equally with men when they were meant to die but let plenty of time to figure out how to escape.

  • @Avene13 The Hooded Claw wanted to take over Penelope's inheritance. As for Penelope's accent, she had it in "Wacky Races".

  • @Avene13 He is her uncle and wants to get the money she inherited

  • woah she was walking across a telephone pole in THOSE HEELS?? She deserves that fortune now!

  • The way she used to run was hilarious!

The Hooded Claw and that chilling laugh he does, lol, the guy looked like a child snatcher.

  • @sonicfish73 That was Paul Lynde (R.I.P.) doing the Hooded Claw.

  • The music score of the series by Ted Nichols would be great for its own soundtrack album CD! :-)

  • She looks sexy in that orange dress at 0:40.

  • 0:57 i like this part :)

  • i dont understand why they drew her differently in the wacky races

  • classic, why dose she run like that?

  • @itubenowplease Where in eastern Europe are you from?

  • @itubenowplease You mean you were attracted to sexy women at the age of five? C'mon.

  • @tedmania Penelope Pitstop Pilpot Paloooozza lmao

  • @tedmania With the goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, and hat Penelope could be taken as a pilot. If you saw the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the dress becomes more apparent and suitable given the convertible she drives. Olden day cars had minimal windshield protection. The goggles protected the eyes from extraneous road debris. The hat outfitted the goggles and probably protected the head to some degree. The gloves suited the race car outfit and gave grip to the steering wheel.

  • Amo !

  • To fatloler: You'll have to ask Warner Home Video about the music, because I don't know anything about it.

  • What's the music?

  • Penelope WAS unique. Innocent and sexy, athletic but always a lady, she was an optimist, who thought fast on her feet and never lacked confidence nor dignity. She was a feminist with style! I really enjoyed her "out of costume" adventures the best, where one got to see her beautiful hair, her feet, or her form in a lovely dress. My female sensual side would have loved to have seen her in a perfect negligee- but who should she have married...Peter Perfect??? LOL

  • If They did a movie about this Reese Witherspoon would be the perfect Penelope

  • I have a sudden urge to type in 'Penelope Pitstop nude' in the google search engine.

  • yes she would have been a good porn star! i think she's a dirty little minx especaily when she drives past them all and sez hiiiyyyaa boooyyyssss hahaha!

  • While true that Penelope's costume in "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" is based on her costume from "Wacky Races", the reason she was dressed similarly to a pilot in both series is that when racing first began, the cockpit of the cars were mostly open. Drivers therefore wore goggles and scarves to protect their eyes from wind and fumes and their scarves from the cold. The helmet is worn for the same reason helmets are worn in races today- to protect the driver in a crash.

  • It's a modification of her racing costume from _Wacky_Races_.

  • As a little girl I used to admire Penelope Pitstop, because she is so cool and can come up with such smart plans and she is soooo pretty!

  • its funny how she runs!!

  • and yet she can never get a way

  • her running will always have me in fits of laughter.. LOOOL

  • Some friends of mine call it: "High Stepping" Wish I could run that way... would have no problem for my annual 1.5 mile run!

  • Penelopie Pitsop Rocks

  • Oh fucking classic! Love it!!!

  • Hahahha Man i Love The Way She Runs Her Legs Open Like Wings! loo0ol

  • Dang, why was that guy always after Penelope Pitstop anyway?

  • so he can kill her and keep her inheritance money for himself.

  • oh hell no

  • el mejor dibujo de h&b

  • That was totally rude! What does that have to do with me? I don't have AIDS! I am not fat either! Screw you whoever wrote that!

  • Ohmygosh! I LOVED this show! Penelope reminds me of myself lol.

  • i love vintage cartoons looooove all hanna-barbera cartoons neww cartoons are a total CRAP!

  • You're right. He first implanted the idea in my impressionable young mind that kidnapping pretty girls and tying them up is fun.

  • I never outgrew my love for Penelope Pitstop.

  • I had a thing for her too;)

  • She was beauty and brains all in one.

  • Daphne had nothing on Penelope Pitstop.

  • True. Most of the time, Penelope saved herself.

  • Inspite of the Anthill Mob's constant goof-ups in trying to rescue her life, Penelope, nevertheless, was grateful for their valiant if incompetent efforts to rescue her from the Hooded Claw. She didn't seem to mind their goof-ups.

  • I suppose she was gracious enough to appreciate their efforts.

  • Penelope Pitstop was a very gracious woman. After all, she was a Southern belle.

  • Penelope Pitstop was completely clad in clothes from the neck down and of course she wore a helmet goggle on her head; all the viewers saw was her beutiful hair and face. We never saw any other part of her body, but even being heavily clad couldn't hide Penelope's beautiful sexy body.

  • Actually, Penelope did "show some leg" while crawling through the Ant Hill Mob's tunnel in "The Boardwalk Booby Trap", and she went barefoot in "Cross Country Double Cross". Even so, I agree that Penelope was quite the sex symbol, despite being the heroine of a cartoon watched by very young children.

  • Define very young chlidren? What age would you say? Preschool? I first saw this cartoon when I was nine years of age in 1976 when it went into syndication. and I thought Penelope Pitstop was positively sexy I wouldn't have those feelings for a cartoon character at age three or four, let alone a real woman.

  • I recall watching the cartoon when it debuted on CBS in 1969; I was 2 years old then. I could see that Penelope was pretty, but at that age I wouldn't have considered her sexy.

  • I was two years old too in 1969, but I don't remember PENELOPE PITSTOP at all. Hey you and I were born the same year.

  • one of my favorites god im old

  • Nah, you're not old. She was my first crush! I think I was about 3. I remember I had a PP coloring book. They don't make cartoons like this one anymore! Foghorn leghorn was the best! When he beats that dogs ass with a board I still crack up. I have a bunch of those cartoons on tape. Better get them while you can. Pretty soon all that will be left is spongebob squarepants (yawn).

  • You know,They (the animators) never explain why Penelope is a wealthy woman? and so forth, they just jump right through it; but I do have imagination like : Penelope was the beloved daughter of a wealthy family; but when her Mama and Papa died, it was always her "dear daddy's" secretary Sylvester Sneekly who was with her all her life, because to girl's daddy (or male guardian) he's her oracle, her guidance and her hero (maybe that's why she refuses to believe that Sylvester is The Hooded Claw).

  • Being a sweet southern girl, that probably means her family made its fortune in cotton or tobacco, which means they once owned slaves.

  • Which episode did Penelope loose her boots?

  • ANother user asked about that. It was "Cross Country Double Cross".

  • Is there a way that you can post that episode so it will remind me of how she lost her boots?

  • I watch this show every morning on Boomerang (if I can stay awake!)

  • Thats one cartoon show that a classic. One time at the of the show. The hooded claw said"I,LL GET HER AND DO HER IN!I,LL GET THEM AND DO THEM IN!AND I,LL EVEN GET YOU!!HEE HAA HAA!!!I had a crush on her,and sabrina the teen aged witch.A crush on valerie of josie and the pussycats.Huh i think i,d better shut up now.I huh hope she doesn,t read these things.

  • Penelope Pitstop she is so hot I want to call an Amber Alert if I was able to capture her. Because Its not like I want to have sex with a cartoon character its just I want somebody to draw me fucking a cartoon character.

  • penelope was real to me.

  • Does anyone else apart from Penelope do that run thing where her she constantly leaps through the air in the splits???

  • my 1st love (when i was 6 ...25 years ago) every woman i like now seems to have that haaeelp thing that penelope has goin' on. i love you penelope

  • Penelope Pistop was my first love too long before Betty Boop. I also had a crush on Sabrina the Teenaged Witch and Betty and Veronica.

  • I'll get you Penelope Pitstop...whahahahahaha!

  • this used to arouse me when i was 10-15 and i'm having those long forbidden feelings of her again.

  • Lol

  • What a gal!

  • whoaa! i remember watching this show years ago! i hardly remember the show, all i noe is that she was running away from sum1 & sum short ppl helped her!

i wish all the classics came on cartoon network again...

    <33x

  • Is it me or does Penelope Pitstop look like Erin Esurance? From those Esurance ads?

  • You may notise she has not shoes on in the cilp at 01:10. I know because I saw that ep when i was 9.

  • If you mean to say that Penelope's boots disappeared entirely, rather than just her slipping them off during her descent, I noticed that same omission on the animators' part.

  • Well i can't remember what actully happen but do remeber that she had this ting tied round her legs so she riggled her boots off to get rid of it and make it land on that planck of wood to make a spring bord.

  • Herb Alpert music in the background?

  • Actually, there are no composer or performer credits for the music in "The Players in 'Perils'".
