I should have added in my last post, in case anyone is interested, my discovery 3 2.7 diesel is more fuel efficient than my Freelander 1.8 petrol. The Freelander returned around 25/29 miles per gallon. The discovery returnes around 25/34 miles per gallon, add to that the additional comfort the Discovery offers and the seven seats, you can't beat it.
The discovery 3 is more fuel efficient than a Range Rover, especially the manual transmission discovery, and it has more head room and rear passenger space and is cheaper to insure so, in my opinion the Discovery is the car to have. I have one and couldn't be more pleased.

The 2.7 makes "light work" of the 2.7 tonnes? This invalidates your entire review in my opinion.

Spacious for 7 large adults! Unlike other 4x4's which are only good for kids in the third row.
