My wife and I got to see Steve Hall and Shotgun Red earlier this week (at Nashville Nightlife) while we were vacationing in Tennessee. And years ago, I helped Ralph Emery (as a PA spotter for the visiting teams) when Ralph was the PA announcer for Vanderbilt football games in the early '60s. Thanks for posting.
I'ts great to see this video with Ralph Emery .that reminds me great times when i lived in the US. in 1986.i remember he used to invite to Roy Clark regularly .THANKS A LOT.
My Husband and I went to see Steve Hall on January 24th here in North Dakota. We enjoy every minute of it.His doll ShotGun Red was something very funny enjoy every minute of it! Ha! Ha!
Oh my goodness. When I was very little my mom had the cassette of Ralph and Red's Christmas, I would listen to it all the time. And now I can't find it anywhere, nor can I find anything on the internet for it!
Steve Hall was here in North Dakota on January 24 th at Praire Knight gambling place.I bought the CD and It has the address of Steve Hall do You want the address I can give it to you.He is the one that take care of the doll shotgun red.
If there were 10,000 channels on Cable TV... RALPH EMERY & Shotgun Red on "Nashville Now" would STILL be #1 on my remote! Second on my remote would be Turner Classic Movies. I gotta have them flicks I growed up with starring John Wayne, James Cagney, Clark Gable Errol Flynn, Alexis Smith, Olivia de Havilland and a galaxy of others...
I miss it too. My mom and I would watch this show every day from the day it began until the day it ended. This sure does bring back some wonderful memories.
If you get a chance, go to see a Steve Hall/Shotgun Red show. It is very funny. He plays the Nashville Nightlife theater often. His part of the show is worth it alone.
Thanks for posting this clip, I loved Shot Gun when he was on Hee Haw and got to see him in person years later. My fiance was in his band before he was somebody ! Love Steve Hall, what a character!
Shotgun red had his own video show called country clips on TNN saturdays at noon in the 1980's. I watched it every time. He even made an appearance at our county fair and did a stand up routine one year. Got a couple of mugs and a Shotgun red doll at the souviner booth afterwards.
thank you for sharing. i grew up in minnesota and steve hall is one of my dads old friends (before he made it) i grew up around him- and his kids. my dad was actually in his wedding wayyyy back in the day. (still keeps up with him too) Have a good day! thank u again!
I remember seeing this when it first aired. "Nashville Now" was my mom's favorite TV show from the time we first got cable TV in 1983 up until the show went off the air 10 years later. Watching this brought back a ton of wonderful memories of watching this show with my mom for all those years. She passed away from cancer in 1996.
Any chance they will put this show on DVD? Well, they need to!
