@krazyjiggzz Just depends on what error code you get for what you have to fix. Sometimes it is the hard drive, sometimes it is the heat sinks, sometimes it is just a plug not plugged in good.

when u get the rrod just quickly take out all of the cables u have plugged into it. let it rest for 1 or2 mins and then plug the cables back in turn it on and it should be working.(works with my xbox)

whenever i get a rrod, i do this crazy thing where i turn off the xbox and then turn it back on, and it works again. its worked 7 times for me on the pro edition xbox, so it might work for someone else, but i'm not sure if it will work in all situations.

You should always take care of the XBOX by usind thenapkin or cloth to wipe dust surfaces and the XBOX, too much dust will kill it.

TIP: get PVC pipe and thick black plastic mesh about 1/2cm think. make a cube and put your xbox on that. you can leave the front open so you can put games and other stuff in it. If your out of a warranty X-clamp fix it or find someone who can. I've fixed a ton of xboxs with this fix as long as its done right aka clean and prep both the cpu and gpu along with both heat syncs. Take your time with it and you'll never have this issue again.

THIS is quite possibly the worst thing you can do in a desperate attempt to fix the console! people if you wana melt your motherboards this is the way to go, if you seriously want to fix your xbox then there are plenty of tech guides out there that explain the causes and methods to fix the rrod, this is a big NO NO.
