I hate the new Sebring's looks. The 1996-2000 body style at least looked much better. The worst thing about Chrysler>> no reliability and bad engineering. I could care less about cup holders or the matching of trim material. On the big important stuff, Chrysler is the exact opposite of what it was 40 or 50 years ago. Back then cops depended on Dodge and Chrysler for 100% dependability and performance. That is not the "new" Chrysler.
obsoleto totalmente, la capota tarda como un millon de años en convertirse para finalmente inutilizar el maletero, la llave tiene un diseño de la edad de piedra e incluso el modelo anterior era más bonito. La calidad de los platicos es pésima, en fin....
Chrysler Fucked-up the Sebring !!! I have a 2003 convertible with the 2.7 engine that i love.... this one sucks !!! Imagine the 2003 with a HEMY, rear-wheel-drive and 6 speed on the floor...
so this guy is responsible for one of the shittiest products to come out of chrysler recently??? what a shame!! the convertible is good looking unlike the sedan!!!
I love the phrases these guys use: expressive, statement, design cues, sculpted, athletic, commodious, Chrysleresque... ooops, you just summed it up there, that's auto speak for CRAP!
Im lingering between 2008 Sebring Conv and 2010 Mazda3, M3 looks more cool, but Sebring is more classical and also bigger. but i wonder how fast can sebring go?
top speed, and acceleration
can someone plz plz throw me some suggestions? im 20 yrs old which one should i get
cuz some of my friends told me this car is for an old man
Well i like chrysler cars i have a sebring turbo (cirrus here in Mex) and my girlfriend have a honda accord with the same kilometrage and she have a lot of electric problems whit the accord.
But who cares about all that, I'll never own one, but to hire one over there, just do it, it's great fun, a stonking great three and a half litre two ton monster flying through the Arizona desert. Brits going over there must get one of these, you won't regret it, choice was either this or a PT Cruiser, are they kidding?
Spent two weeks in the States last September and hired one of these. By day three we were back at Alamo again picking up our our third car, the first two had electrical problems). With the roof, down or up, wind whistled through the cabin as the built quality is not a patch on european design and whats with all the cheap plastic!
Chrysler stockpiled and 'banked' cars during contract negotiations with the UAW, and rather than buy new cars from the factory, dealers have bought them from long term storage at a discount. The Sebring you buy might have been rotting in the open for many months before you pay full price for a car most dealerships dont even want on their forecourts anymore. Its about to be cancelled and remaining stocks dumped at rental companies. Zero resale.
They trucked two of these things into my town five months ago and had them on the lot for test drives. Two weeks ago they trucked them back to Brisbane (1000 plus miles away) because they were burning money rotting on the lot. Even the rental companies didnt want them.
'The Australian' newspaper just reviewed the Sebring and its the most damning review Ive ever seen of a car in thirty years. Hard plastic, gaps, poor fit and finish, bad handling, blatant cost cutting and the 2.7 litre V6 is a disaster. Do some research online and this junker looks like the Lemon Of The Year. Even the Chrysler staff complained about this thing in an internal memo.
Ever after the year 2000 Chrysler's car designs haver really become ugly, they are joining all the shitty car's in becoming boxy and trying to look to futuristic... every car after 2000 from Chrysler is ugly now, and the pt cruiser has always been ugly as well as the 300...
I saw the car in a showroom a few days ago, it looks good from a distance. From up close though it gives a very plastic-feel. It can't be compared to a BMW 3 convertible, but then again it's much cheaper too.
I like the sebring '97 edition more than the new one! come one... this is not chrysler desig.. looks more like a cheap rip-off from a mercedes. chrysler stands for wider vehicle body, sporty snout and snobbish-touchy style but not all filigree and ahungered. It's ok to produce less gaz-guzzling motors... but not to loose chrysler-style!
how is that roof unique? the roof sounds and looks horrible, the volvo C70 has by far the best convertible roof, for both design and seemless movement.
I love Chrysler, but my huge gripe with the newer models is this tall, stumpy look they've gotten into. The new Chryslers are unique and sexy, but the sexiness kinda fades away because they are making them so tall and stocky looking. If you took the 300 and this new Sebring and made them lower profile, so they looked long and sleek instead of tall, with high beltline and volvo-stance, they'd be VERY sexy cars. Long and sleek like the LH cars of the 90's.
this be available in a plugin hybrid version when the warming weenies start makeing sense. humans have nothing to do with global warming. "Its the sun stupid" (paraphraseing slick willie)
Man that top sounds HORRIBLE going up and down. All those metal clanging noises and those electric motors sound like they're 10 years old! I test drove the G6 convertible - it was really nice and didn't sound cheap at all. Haven't had a chance to test the eos yet, but unlike the pontiac the eos looks like a chick/fag car.
it looks like a bad imititation of an european style like car, bad done! too bad usa still can not beat europe with designing something pretty, the guy has no idea what he is talking about and he´s the director???? DUDE, you better get an actor for that!
This guy is horrifically bad at describing what is already going to be a hard car to sell. This car screams for females having a mid-life crisis. Why exactly did they detune the 3.5 to make 235 hp instead of the full 250 or more it's capable of? Hopefully there will be an srt verison. And what's up with that horrible whirring sound from the roof?? It already sounds broken, hope that's because it's a prototype.
What? What's with the ad hominem attack? I stated the car is ugly and you come at me with some pre-schooler Fox-news-style chastising my imaginary corolla? Honestly, attacking me doesn't change my view that styling of the car is bad, the top mechanism is slow and clunky and the car suffers from an utter lack of presence.
lol that sound of the top going down is so familiar, I really love this car

Before considering a Chrysler, consider this.
Chrysler stockpiled and 'banked' cars during contract negotiations with the UAW, and rather than buy new cars from the factory, dealers have bought them from long term storage at a discount. Ugly. A convertible is supposed to have nice lines. I've seen only a few since they came out so I'm not the only one who thinks it's ugly.
Generic front. Megatron roof. Busy taillights.
Bloated sides...at least put black paint on the bottom so it doesn't look fat.

Even though this is a pre-production model, it's still a typical American car.
Poorly designed, very poorly built, with very cheap materials trying to look luxurious.
NOTE: Trying to pass an interior colour off as "luxurious", shows the lack of luxury in the vehicle!

The top is so loud and sounds like its struggling going down. I perfer soft tops better anyways.

NOTE: This is a very pre-production model so it makes some crazy sounds that are not present in the actual vehicle being sold to consumers.
