fallegt lag, :) i sing this to my brothers when they go to sleep, and my mom sang it for me and so it goes on in most icelandic families. And the story behind it, if i remeber it right.. that a women sang this to her shild before she through it down waterfall when men were hunting her down

I think it is old norse. I am swede myself and ... don't recognize it as other nordic languages. And I still recognize some words and sentices. It also fits with the album title. I might be wrong. o.o

It's Icelandic actually. I think I recall being taught that Icelandic is the language that has least changed from old Norse, so you weren't far off.
