Did you ever have a real review of Awakening or was this it. This one seems to be a demo version of the expansion. I haven't played it yet even though I own it, but I was watching DWTerminator's review of it and he bashed the living shit out of it giving it a 2.5 / 5. Yet on IGN, they gave it an 8.5. I figured I'd ask what you thought since you are among the 3 reviewers I trust most (RaychulMoore, CherubicWindigo, and UltimateChance) I'm feeling bad that I bought it now :(. Thanks in advance.

I think it would have been better for Awakening is if you can kind of choose who would come back. I think it should really be up to the game and how you played the game, which would make it feel more like an expansion or add-on to the game. However if you start off new in the expansion, then you should be able to decide along after creating your character who of the former group you want to show up just before you actually start playing. You should also be able to choose no one too.

The main story in this expansion was way too short and it didn't have the "epic" feeling the original game had. There weren't many exciting new areas to explore and there were hardly any difficult, long lasting decisions to make. Overall this expansion was playable but it was a big let-down for me. I do hope dragon age continues and becomes something that improves upon what awakening lacked.

I was disappointed that it was Oghren you had :( I would of preferred Alistair or Zevran lol they had to of been my two favourites ^_^ I never got to talk to Alistair though :( must of rushed it a bit too much lol I left so many side quests unfinished without realising that I was heading into the end of Awakening haha. Sense you used Shale, did you ever find a way to tell what element to use? I wanted to use her in my party but I could never figure out what element to use against the monsters. as a result her attacks were often ineffectual.

@BijiSan If your using shale to tank, then you should be using the fire element for the tougher fights, i.e. mages with fire spells, dragons, high dragons, etc. last boss is cake, but if you really need to you could equip spirit resist.

Use your head, dude. Have a set of different elements depending on your situation.

Fire -> Ice monsters Ice -> Fire monsters Spirit-> heavilly armored ect. ect.

That's the thing dude! Unless the monster is made out of fire, very few of them telegraph what element they are. For Example on the Wiki it says the giant spiders are nature elemental. How do I now that? And what about human and elven mages who can cast fire, ice and lightning? Do I just guess or reload my save after he already killed me?

@BijiSan When I used Shale I found the Spirit crystals were one of the better ones, especially with the nice Spirit Resistance buff against the Archdemon.

And dam, Zevran was my favorite :(( best romance story IMO.
