  • hey i got a dell model # nps-200pb-73 m psu and it doesn have a green wire on it anywhere what els can i use i got alot of blue ,yellow, black, red but i have ony 1purple,1 white, 1 grey and 1 orange i really want this to work if u could help me out that would be great as my psu has no on/off switch thanks

  • @booniesgangsta never mind i messed around with the odd colors out and figured out it was the grey and the ground that had to be put together now im keeping my eyes out for a car deck and maybe even an amp and hook it all to my sub thanks man

  • how to install pc on cd player?

  • First thing i learned in my computer repair class NEVER open a power supply it stores high voltage even when it has been unplugged IT WILL KNOCK YOU OUT. if you touch the wrong thing.

  • @latrays you dont open the power supply.......

  • Good idea. I have some extra power supplies, speakers, and amp and recently I have a CD player I took out of my car and swapped. I guess I'll hook it up to blast in my garage.

  • that was so rad brill

  • My PSU Dosent Have a Green ?????????????

  • @vteckid12 should be on the main wiring harness 4th pin in from the right.

  • If you want to use hifi speakers that are 8ohm take a 2 ohm resistor and connect it paralel to the speaker this will divide the resistence of the speaker by two thuns creating 4 ohms problem solved :-p

  • Alright, quick question. I see that Qenzi mentions the burning out of their speakers. Do you think they went straight into house speakers without an amp/receiver?

Would it be OK if I plugged the stereo wires into the back of a house receiver and then that receiver would feed into my set of house speakers?

  • Hey How many watts does your Power Supply Unit i have one that puts out 300watts will that be enough if i power a

    -Headunit

    -350w speaker x2

    -300w Subwoofer

    -1000w amp

Sorry im a Freshman when it comes to car audio

  • is it possible to use a car stereo for experimental reasons? like say i wanted to take an old stereo CD or Tape, could i then add a headphone uutput or output it so i can record the audio onto a device as such? I really love the skipping sound in car stereos but modern ones tend not to play the disc so i cant use it :(

  • @kragle2008 *input sorry

  • Whats the name of the song in the beginning?

  • I need urgent help, friend!

I have a CD player car, it takes a 10A fuse, but it has a fuse 10, make a difference?

I think it does but as I'm not sure, so I prefer to ask.

Oh by the way, they gave me was (the CD player)

  • hi, i followed this instructions and everything is nice. But when i turn the radio to aux mode in order to use the speakers through, the sound cames very low and with static.

    Can you help me? thks!

  • I just did it works. thanks ima use this as my demonstrational speech. im sure ima get a A really simple and really cool results. thanks bro

  • you should have left all the wires and combined them ie all yellows together and all blacks this would have gave higher amperage but none the less whats done is done

  • you call this a hack.lol

  • @blueeyesseto alright I've tried that. Or at least I think I did. You should deffinitally post a video of it or how you got it wired because I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.

  • You can acheive the same result with an atv battery and a trickle charger. Use a high quality noise filter between the pos post and the unit for clear sound.

  • Alright got a problem. Using an old Dell psu there is no green wire. But seems like my gray works like your green but doesn't keep the radio on for more than ten seconds. What can be some of my problems?

  • @yesiknowimhere hey man had the same issue with dell psu you need to hook a yellow to the stereo and a black to the stereo the hook up the grey wire to a black and the orange wire to the black this means that the grey wire tells it to turn on the orange tells it to hold the power took me like an hour to work it out hope this helps man

  • u can just use an ac adaptor to power a amp or radio as well. just match a 12v ac adaptor with a 12v cd deck. then cut the jack of the ac cord.after that..... seperate and strip the too wires apart then take the dotted line and hook it up to the yellow and/or red wires on the deck. and connect the other one to the ground black wire. And last hook up your speaker and enjoy!!!

  • @hotrdenhell ... recipe for a FIRE! 12v ac adapters are generally in the range of 500Ma (that's 500 milli-amps) not near enough to support a car stereo for long, resulting in super-heating the transformer and supply wire.

  • @tazztt1 thats only if u hook up more then one thing to the same ac adaptor.search - Car DVD Installation - How To Check Player Before Install - that video shows you how to do it. and it still works as a house stereo. i know cuz i have car stereo set up this way in my house. never any problems.

  • @hotrdenhell ... Ok... When you came home to a smoking hole in the ground someday, you'll know why.

  • can you make a video how to connect it to car speakers and laptop, i can follow everything till that point

  • I want to hook up a head unit, 2 12" kicker CVR's, a Rockford Fosgate 1000 amp, and probably 2 6.5 Rockford Fosgate speakers. What would I need to do this all correctly in my house? What type of power supply would I need to power this?

  • i have an old 10" fx car sub woofer and 2 cerwin vega 12" sub that i wanna put in a box and use in my room. can i just hook them up to my receiver on the sub output? or do i have to connect them to a powered amp?

  • how do you connect the speakers to the CD player/radio? i am going to use subwoofer...

  • DON'T DO IT! i just broke my stereo.. it way working good for like 5minutes, and then it whent up in smoke...

  • @QenZi Even though I am not responsible for others equipment, I feel bad because I did not specify what kind of speakers can be hooked up. You should NOT hook house speakers up to a car reciever. It may work momentarily but it will prematurely fail. House speakers are 8-ohms. Car speakers are 4-ohms. Car recievers are made for 4-ohms speakers, sometimes 2-ohms but never 8-ohms.

  • @strtballer32 It could work if you hook to a powered amplifier.

  • @strtballer32 See how you said house speakers are 8-ohms right?

So like, a home cd player would output at 8-ohms?

Would it be safe to have a car sub that is 4-ohms hooked up to my home cd player then?, or would it fry?

I have it hooked up right now, and I gave it a test play and it worked, but it's not going to fry later on is it?

  • @ShaneHall182 No!

  • @strtballer32 Idk but cant you wire it to as a parallel to reduce the ohm's in half

  • @strtballer32

i would have to disagree with you comment about car stereos not supporting 8-ohms impedance. i have a car stereo that is made by "MinisrtyofSound" Model: MOSCA110MP3PX and this particular car radio supports 4-8ohms impedance.

  • @strtballer32 ... split ohms by doubling house speakers (in paralell) ... problem solved

  • @strtballer32 even so you can drop the ohm load of house speakers to suit the ohm load min/max of your deck.

  • @strtballer32 It is not ok to connect the headunit to a home amplifier via RCA?

  • @strtballer32 You forgot to mention that some are made for 10-ohms.

  • @QenZi dude this means u either used the wrong polarity or voltage

  • @QenZi dude it works fine.

  • sick soundstream speaks

  • yeah that is pointless cuz from all that money u spent on that power supply unit and the stereo and speakers u could of bought a really loud 5.1 surround from logitec that actually ment for ur computer. i would see if u wanted to put it in ur garage or something but not the way u have it set up.

  • @BigThangsPoppinMayne It will never be loud as you wish ;) did the same thing, I bought the z5500 from logitech..and now ? If you want to see a movie than is ok, bau for music ? I need it allways louder.

  • @BigThangsPoppinMayne That guy installed it shit. I will post mine in a couple of weeks. i made speakers and boxes and a box for my head unit. The best way of doing it is to use a ac to dc 12v 3 amp transformer. they are cheap and works

  • @lordaboveall yeah i wana see it when ur done with it so let me knw when u post ur vid....i got the equipment to do all this but dnt feel like it right now....u hookin up some subs to ur project?

  • @BigThangsPoppinMayne I could do a quick vid tomorrow but the thing is i wont be able to show it running bcos the transformer was one i used for something else for testing and i caught it alight when a surge happened. ill show the boxes and the mountedheadunit but the system was working. It was a self build and i had the headunit lying around and the mdf i got for free but the speakers i bought brand new and carpeted it.

  • @lordaboveall ok yea man i wanna see that setup u got so i can get an idea on how i should start mine

  • kinda pointless

  • did u need an amplifier?

  • do u need to match the wattage of the psu to the radio

  • how do you cool it?

  • hot you connect a car cd player to a laptopp

  • @set040 the head unit has to have RCA inputs or a headphone jack (3.5mm) input. In other words, any form of AUX in. If it doesn't, you can use an FM transmitter.

  • @strtballer32 what did you do when you opened the power supply ?? you melted the wires (don't know how to say it, I'm italian :'(... ) and if I want to connect anly the subwoofer amplifier to the Pc ? can it be done ??

  • sick

  • hey this is cool but what if you have a really old player to use ? for ex mine is a blaupunkt heilbronn sqm39

  • badass install..

  • haha dats badass! fergie! dale i hate u! ahaha

  • fucking sweet., i really need this

  • nice setup
