  • Kid Rock isn't even worth the cheese on Mr Zevons desiccated rim hole. Fuck Kid Rock. Tosser. Fuck him. He is as original as a Birdseye pea.......FUCK HIM.

  • @playerinlife "desiccated rimhole".....brilliant :D

  • My car radio: Da-da-da-DA-da-da.

    Me: Cool! Werewolves!

My car radio (Kid Rock's voice): It was 1989 ...

Me (pounding on the dashboard): FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!

  • i hate how kid rock used this! damn fuck pop music!

  • Happy St Zevon's Day all! Enjoy those sandwiches.

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEET HOME ALABAMA

  • @Mattyew Play that dead band's song...

  • Kid Rock fucking ripped this off with a shitty over-played, generic song. I sincerely hope he dies in a fire.

  • and you know where sweet home alabama stole its riff from?

    the four horsemen

the riff starts ~halfway through the song, just listen to the whole thing

  • Never liked the Dead..Would rather hear Warren sing the song....

  • Pretty sure kid rock sucks. As for the other part, pretty sure you are aware now. If you aren't, allow me to assist. You are asking why this song (a song written well before KR was born) sounds like a song sung by..... Oh dear........F.M.L.

  • ok why does this song have the exact same tune as kid rocks-all summer long id like a reason not a comment telling me to "fuck off" and kid rock sucks

  • @WolfPackAttack1911 because kid rock used this song for that moron, kid rock is an talentless inbreed idiot

  • @vitalsfading yep

  • @WolfPackAttack1911 Fuck Off Kid Rock sucks. This was written 30 years before he was born, and Kid Rock is notorious for not putting any effort into his shitty songs without a nice copyright infringement somewhere in the chorus.

  • @TheRimDoctor i know that i worded it wrong after i posted it sorry dont be snap happy

  • @WolfPackAttack1911 I'm not mad, I'm just upset that Kid Rock managed to ruin the name of such a good song.

  • great music, but not the best singer.

  • this guy was great at everything, even being last alphabetically

  • Please his music loudly.

  • i love this :) sounds just like "sweet home alabama" by skynard!

  • You guys are talking about music theory here? Do you realize the significance of what he's saying here?

  • @tetilt Do you realize that I was correcting someone who was saying he hates this song because he thinks its a blatant ripoff of Sweet Home Alabama, an entirely different song?

  • Music theory, some should invest a little time and study it.

  • this is a ripoff of that song called popcorn

  • @oblanob The only song called Popcorn I can find that came out before this is an electronic pop instrumental.

  • kid rock = TOOL

  • For those of you talking about who stole this or that, listen to this and Sweet Home Alabama back to back. You will not hear these piano lines in Sweet Home Ala. The songs just sound similar. It wouldn't matter anyway because the farther back you go in musical history the more you'll notice tunes are reused or rewritten constantly but there was still mutual respect between composer and user. Rappers and techno artists didn't invent sampling. They just have less respect for the original.

  • @Davez621 smh -__-

  • @Davez621 wtf u talkin bout this song came out long b4 sweet home alafuckin nowhere

  • @TheMrdogoman Bullcrap. This song came out in '78. Sweet Home Alabama came out in '73.

  • @Davez621 You may have heard of the four chord progression. It's used in a variety of music, from rock to classic rock to pop. The Beatles used it with "Hey, Jude". Journey used it for "Don't Stop Believing". Lady Gaga used it for "Poker Face".

There are many different chord progressions used in music, and the more popular ones appear again and again. While Werewolves of London uses a similar chord progression, Sweet Home Alabama is not the first to use it. The V-IV-I chord progression was -

  • @Davez621 The V-IV-I chord progression was used in jazz songs in the early 1900s. It has been around for a long time, and even to say that Sweet Home Alabama copied another song would be preposterous. For an example of chords that are used many, many times, search on YouTube for the "Four Chords Song" from the group Axis of Awesome, which will demonstrate only some of the songs that all share a similar tune. Not the same as either of the songs named, but it shows shared chords between songs.

  • I swear the guy in the red shirt was crying a lil' bit, bless him. This is great, piano masta!!

  • Love this song.....

  • thanks for sharing.

  • AAAHHWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • where is the real version with the cool pictures....Sick of these horrible sounding live versions....pointless to upload....

  • lost him too soon. RIP

  • ever heard my shits fucked up?

  • he looks like one lol

  • I always was disappointed about something concerning Mr. Zevon: It seems that 1978 was his only year of greatness, and then, the bottom dropped out. Is that just me?

  • @kja427 My understanding is that he was a hopeless alcoholic. I'm sure that had lots to do with it. Too bad so many talented folks think they have to be addicts. It only stifles creativity - not enhances it.

  • @fairlyfastfreddie1 The greatest rock songs ever written were influenced by drugs. Studies show that drugs opens up creativity and influences vocabulary.

  • Introduced as "An old English folk tune" at the 2002 Calgary Folk Music Festival, Warren lit the park on fire. He was diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after that show, his last concert was 2 weeks later in Edmonton, AB (again accompanied by Matt Cartsonis). He had more sandwiches in 56 years than many of us could down combined... quite positive he'd have sampled more, but terms and peace had been found; his humor and dignity is an example.

  • Right folks calm down and stop saying kid rock stole the backing track... Cause this guy took it from Lynyrd Skynyrd- he didnt write it!

  • @AngelSMW No body really steals music. It's a famliy mofia organisation.

  • Excellent!

  • ...and he was perfect.

  • Well....at least Zevon's music is being heard - may introduce new listeners to classic sounds, if they look behind the covers...

  • I thought I was one of the few people that hated Kid Rock for ripping this off... I'm very glad I'm not.

  • poor at best

  • Great improvisational pianist, great wit, great loss to the music industry. Rock on, Warren. RIP

  • @boogiebabe67 industry? boogi? what a loada träsh...

  • I love this. Warren Zevon's lyrics, class. This is a great performance of a great song from one of the great poets of our time.

  • Kid Rock was not even born yet when Warren wrote this song in the 70's

  • I cant stand kid rock i can safely say he is the only person still alive that i honestly HATE, idk why its mean but i cant stand him

  • Hey, this sounds a lot like the Kid Rock song. This guy is a rip off artist!

  • @hbdywtk check the release dates of the soungs

  • @hbdywtk check the release dates of the songs werewolves came out way befor kid rock even started to think about singing

  • @hbdywtk Oh, I really do hope your comment is laced with a heavy dose of sarcasm, otherwise I'll be very sad. :-(

  • @hbdywtk Lol good troll, i hope

  • @whitstablewilliams I hear dat. The man's a legend.

  • As much as I like Kid Rock's older stuff I hate how he ripped off of this one and Lynyrd Skynyrd at the same time.

  • Happy Halloween!

  • A dirty shame that this sucker abused himself to death so young ...

  • @AllBobsAllTheTime .... I am pretty sure he died of cancer related to asbestos. Not that he didn't party, but his untimely death doesn't seem related to it.

  • @katykat16 I thought they said at the time taht he was very susceptible to the disease because his system was weakened by the years of heavy drinking and whatever else he was doing.

  • one of the best songs ever. RIP Warren Zevon. RIP Lon Chaney Sr. & Jr.

  • 22 people need a visit from the bloodthirsty undead...

  • kid rock's is a knock off of the other knock off called sweet home alabama.

  • just heard kid rock's fuck up on the radio i shut it off and went to youtube for this man right here

  • Such a good song!

  • i belive this his last performer at bbc before his died bless him his was one of the true creater defrent style of music

  • All the great people are leaving us: Warren, Hunter S. Thompson, Howard Zinn, the list is endless.

  • RIP Warren. We all loved you, and we will always love you.

  • Awesome!

  • Oh yea, fuck kid rock

  • 1:33 dudes head banging.

  • Who's kid rock? I seriously don't know

  • The people in the crowd are way too serious of listeners, this is such a fun song and they all seem to be doing some self examination.

  • i thought this was a new song... i love it... i always start to go ahooooo when that kid rock shite starts.... then i stop!!! ahooooooooooooo

  • God Bless his soul. Truly a masterpiece

  • i love warren zevon, that being said dont trash kid rock he kicks ass

  • @Beatlesonlyblog no, i believe this is later with jools holand!

  • i love his shout out to joe strummer!!! and yes, fuck kid rock.

  • I thought I was the only one who was tired of really phony artists like that kid rock punk ripping off the really Great Artists....

  • The highest form of flatery is immatation.

  • 23 people are Kid Rock lovers. This is an awesome vid.

  • Miss you Warren.

  • You mean, "Kid (suck a ) Cock" !!! He is a prime time DOUCHE BAG!

  • Never heard it this way. WOW!

  • His beautiful piano playing really stands out in this acoustic version. Great video, thanks!

  • " i saw Joe Strummer walking with the Queen.." Brilliant thanks for posting this>

  • love WZ, love this acoustic version, but whats with all the negative Kid Rock comments? All the guy did is pay respect to Warren by sampling his song. BTW, the songwriting proceeds go to Warren's kids...

  • Never thought this before but there's an intriguing resemblance between Zevon's voice and Nick Cave's . . . Cave would do a cool rendition of this.

  • 21 people are now werewolves

  • 21 people are werewolves in canada

  • every time I hear the kid rock rip off I get excited until he opens his mouth because I want to believe so bad that someone put Werewolves of London back on the radio.

  • @Darkbassist287

Hahah, same here. It happened to me today.

  • @Tommer82 i've just been singing werewolves over it.... tired of the swill people are turning good music into.

  • @Darkbassist287 they play it all the time on my radio

  • @Darkbassist287 listen to radio 2 more, they used to play it all the time! :D

  • @Darkbassist287 Kid Rock didn't "rip off" the tune.......he got premission to use it as a tribute to Zevon. I love how people get on here and flap their yaps when they have no idea what they are talking about.

  • @bkroadking1 Oh, because you, of course, were inside his head when he decided to create a "tribute to Zevon".

  • @Darkbassist287 Yes! Unfortunately the same thing happens to me. I end up changing the station.

  • @Darkbassist287 my thoughts exactly!!!!you are so dam right.

  • @Darkbassist287 it is on 95.9 the fox lol

  • @Darkbassist287 Totally agree with you, man. I can't believe Warren's estate or record company hasn't sued the ass off of Kid Rock for ripping off that opening riff.

  • @8710cugel . im sure they paid royalties

  • @Darkbassist287 they play this on planet rock occasionally :)

  • Ya gotta love Warren Zevon

  • Somehow I cannot wrap my brain around the fact that at least 21 people can watch this video and physically select "don't like."

  • To me one of the best lyrics ever written and same goes for the musical accompliment, what a man who will be missed so much.

  • Kid Rock is jezx21's gay lover.

  • The Kid is far from a fag,he used Warren's music as a tribute.

  • There's a certain age when musicians have lost that certain something they had when they were young?

    Awful!

  • Hats off, to Warren Zevon.

  • stttttttunning

  • ill sleep when i'm dead

    RIP enjoy your nap

  • Perfesct

  • who whoulda thought both warren and joe would soon snuff it,tragedy man

  • @hanghang71 --- no offence intended but.... joe who? thanks

  • @pjonri joe strummer,he's on the same show in the audience

  • @pjonri Joe Strummer was the lead singer for The Clash. he's the guy at 3:13 with the guitar.

  • What is with everyone being British and "faggits". Jesus there chords and notes and pretty simple one's in this particular song of warren's. So who did he steal it from? surely he wasn't the first human being to stumble upon these notes. skynard didn't steal warrens song. They both wrote an amazing song out of it and many more so deal with that ya faggot!! On the other hand Kid Rock is a colossal douche rag Who did steal!

  • @LanryLeeFefeby666 kid rock is not gay and didnt steal it. he sampled it. big difference.

  • @jckb1330

Where do you think faggit skynard got it from

  • @nandor690

    skynyrd, spell it right

  • To conorg7: FUCKIN' A!

  • @conorg7 Your retarded. Kid Rock is a fuck in his own right, but "Sweet Home Alabama", which I believe you are referencing to, was originally written by the group Lynard Skynard. The numerous people who accompanied your comment with a 'like' should go jump off a cliff.

  • @jckb1330 actually, I was talking about Kid Rock stealing THIS SONG and inserting it into his faggoty song "All Summer Long." Get your facts straight, dickhead.

  • @jckb1330 He may reference "Sweet Home Alabama" but the actual sample he uses is the piano riff from "Werewolves of London" They are the same 3 chords.

  • sticky133400 - as a stupid ass British bastard, I just want to give you a little lesson in English grammar.

You really should learn the difference between your and you're.

One is the possessive, as in your house, your car etc., and the other other is an abbreviation of you are, i.e., you're.

Just thought that might be helpful, you thick stupid cunt, ok?

  • @cruithneuladh yeah well its quicker to type your rather than youre you stupid british bastard

  • Kid rock didn't steal this song. He sampled it then mashed it with sweet home alabama. All u stupid ass British bastards don't know what your talking about.

    Ps. I like the song.

  • @sticky133400 so he stole this AND Sweet home Alabama, then killed them both?! you're the fucking cock-sucker. it's a tragedy that warren's dead while you and kid rock still waste our oxygen.

  • @thesmiths1989 he didnt STEAL the songs. he didnt take credit for werewolvs of london or sweet home alabama, he just used the instrumentals in his song. As far as me and rock still breathing "you can roll with rock or you can suck my dick" - American Badass

  • Comment removed

  • @sticky133400

Come on over here and say that.

  • @pnolanrn "alot of people poke fun and thats all right, but when i start pokin back they get all uptight"

  • " His hair was perfect".

  • Kid rock WHO the fuck is he

  • AAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool.

  • I hate to disagree with the late and truly great WZ, but I don't think werewolves hang out around Mayfair.

They're most likely to frequent St. James, checking out the clothes shops for the more discerning gentleman, when they're not eating beef chow mein in Soho of course!

  • very good.thanks for posting

  • hey i just saw a werewolf drinking pina coladas at trader vics, his hair was perfect..

  • @killutoday DIP

  • Was this his last performance?

  • I love the song but it is always annoying to watch people in the background who know they are on camera trying to grove.

  • @Crazydog7 I find it funny how they are all so serious, like it was some sort of sermon or something.

  • True genius......Sadly no longer with us!!!

  • @hearts76100 Ah, but look at it this way, he left the world with a collection of great music. :)

  • This is simply the greatest fucking song ever written.

  • louquarm - you're not awesome, I've just checked out your site.

  • skrys81 - Don't tell me the werewolves have moved to Hoxton!

Holy shit!, now they're tearing people to pieces while wearing designer jewellery!

    Is there no escape?

  • My favorite Zevon song.

  • THIS IS HOW U LEARN HOW TO GROW UP !!!!!!! WITH LOVE >SHA

    RK

  • Lee Ho Fuk's is good, I do like a big plate of beef chow mein.

  • WOW... I'd like to think to tell you about how awesome I am..but WOW...l'm gonna listen just one more time then I'll tell you about how awesome I am...

  • xXxSlarerXx619-I commented on this vid ages ago, warning people about the dangers of werewolves in London, especially around Soho.

Thank God someone has taken this problem seriously, although I'm not sure about the numbers you quote, I don't think it would take 513 of them to maul 15 tourists, more likely the other way around.

Anyway, be very careful around the corner of Little Newport/Gerrard Street, I think that's where most of them congregate, be careful out there!

  • @cruithneuladh i always found soho to be alright to walk around. the only things i found to beware about are the wankers from hoxton

  • OMG!!! Fantastic piece of media!!

    R.I.P.

    Warren Zevon

  • Kid Rock is son-of-a-whore...

  • >mfw someone says Kid Rock wrote this tune: >:(

  • This song is so adorable :3

  • Comment removed

  • Kid Rock is an absolute FUCKHEAD for stealing Warren's music in his gay assed song.

  • @conorg7 LOL yup

  • @conorg7 Happens every day. Doubt Warren would have cared.

  • @conorg7 I recently was checking out a local cover band and they started playing this. At first I thought it was the Kid Rock song (since all the bands are covering that), but to my surprise they played this! And on a side note, Kid Rock didn't "steal" this song. He asked for the rights to use it as well as "Alabama".
