I want to make clear, i am not a supporter of Ayers' actions against the government. I do see and understand his POV which anyone should do when trying to formulate an intelectual argument. My MO is that the protestors treated the SMC students and campus poorly and we don't deserve that for trying to learn about educational reform. It was rude of them to do at our home. You don't go to someone's home and cuss them out and beat them.

The protestors came to our home and physicaly and verbaly harrassed us because we wanted to hear his point of view, a progressive and well respected point of view, on educational reform. They called him a terrorist, but at the same time they terrorized us students at Saint Mary's. The news needs to pay more attention to the students involved in this conflict and not the ignorant and closed minded white Catholics that mobbed together like a KKK rally

Anyways we are a Lasallian University which is a catholic sect that is strongly based on education. The principles include being open to all view points and an equal education for anyone of any economic, religious, or racial background. The fact you are making this a religious issue, and the protestors make it look like an issue of race because they are all white, takes away from the fact that he is here about education and that the school is about education.

"We can speak with the intention of being heard and listen with the possibility of being changed," Ayers said to a woman who screamed profanities at him. It takes a lot more courage to listen with the possibility of being changing our view than it takes to scream into a bullhorn with the intention of silencing.

I want to make clear, i am not a supporter of Ayers' actions against the government. I do see and understand his POV which anyone should do when trying to formulate an intelectual argument. My MO is that the protestors treated the SMC students and campus poorly and we don't deserve that for trying to learn about educational reform. It was rude of them to do at our home. You don't go to someone's home and cuss them out and beat them.

The protestors came to our home and physicaly and verbaly harrassed us because we wanted to hear his point of view, a progressive and well respected point of view, on educational reform. They called him a terrorist, but at the same time they terrorized us students at Saint Mary's. The news needs to pay more attention to the students involved in this conflict and not the ignorant and closed minded white Catholics that mobbed together like a KKK rally

Anyways we are a Lasallian University which is a catholic sect that is strongly based on education. The principles include being open to all view points and an equal education for anyone of any economic, religious, or racial background. The fact you are making this a religious issue, and the protestors make it look like an issue of race because they are all white, takes away from the fact that he is here about education and that the school is about education.
