LOL... the best joke in Steel Panther. Making fun of '80s guitar heroes and "look at me!" self-indulgent playing. Satchel knows *exactly* what buttons to push to make you remember how ridiculous and over the top the '80s were.

WoW! I used to think these guys were a HUGE JOKE, but after whatching a few vids of them here on the tube, I have realized they are pretty damned good. The reason for thinking they was a joke is because I got an edition of Guitar World and on the cd rom that comes with it, Satchel makes a joke of his "guitar lesson", so...........

pretty ok solo, horrifying guy (no offense for the fans) and kinda bad tapping; all either borrowed from eddie van halen, (easy ones) or backing some scale legatos. :P

the lamest parts were when he started to play : Master of puppets, paranoid, yngwie and sweet child o mine!! really cracked me up XDD

It is awesome but I've just come back from their gig in London and the solo was exactly the same ... I'm convinced they are over-rehearsed and use backing tracks ... like going to watch musical theatre (but with more dick jokes).

@cerigomerjames what did you expect? did you think what you saw was just for you and the audience that was with you?

this is how a professional touring show should be. night after night. it's not "over-rehearsed" as you say, but CONSISTENT...night after night, for a different audience every night. for 10 years i have watched these guys develop their show. when they go on your, they have a show, and they play it the same way every night, just like a film or a play. Just the way it is.
