  • I know the video is old, but I must ask: Why would anyone use UNetbootin to install Puppy, specifically, to a flash drive? Puppy has its own installer for USB flash drives, and has had it at least since '08, when I first ran version 412.

The Puppy USB installer even sets up the installation to delay writes to the disk in order to speed up regular operation.

For Puppy, just use the included installer. There's no need for UNetbootin.

  • Can some one please help me or direct me where i can find help.I boot lucid puppy from a usb pen drive but i want to boot from hard drive so i no longer have to use the pen drive my laptop has no os so i want Lucid puppy to be the only os on the system i keep trying and trying i have my partitions and keep saveing it but nothing it reverts me to the beginging.

  • @locant23 If you did Ubuntu it would be easy. just follow the on screen prompts.

  • @Cybern9ne.....thanks...

  • A critical step is missing.

After installing the ISO, the syslinux.cfg file must be edited in notepad.

Find pmedia= and change the entry after the = to usbflash.

  • @cybern9ne thanks man...i hadnt tried it but i bet without this it probably would not have worked

  • To the left its media converter(free) and to the right is eInstruction CPS. Its for education.

  • A friend of mine said he tried it and it didn't work. He found an article that says when using unetbootin that it would only work about every third time. What we did was kept reformatting the disk until it worked. Keep trying it, it will work dont give up. Its a great tool to have in your box.
