  • Rick is great...I'm really glad I was there for one of the last times...

  • BEAUTIFUL, what a cool lesson for other shits, whith their rap Ahahahah :p But One Of theses Days..... !!

  • it must be undescribable having gilmour and richard few meters from you.

  • Love this song.. Gilmour and Wright singing together <3<3<3

  • Super nice! Thank you for posting. I miss these guys. : (

But I hope that we get to see them play a little more before the end.

    Luna

  • Guy Pratts gestures e.g. 1:22 are strange, what does he want to show? that he could much better then Roger Waters, that he is bored or unchallenged that he is the genious of the band?

  • @lordhurga maybe he just wants to show that he's playing an open A string?..))

  • @lordhurga That you do not know how to use then & than

  • @lordhurga

I can understand what you mean, but I don't think it is so. Being a Bass player myself, sometimes I let go of the bass after hitting an open string. It is just something that comes naturally.

  • @lordhurga

Guy pratt does not need to show off....you on the other do with this stupid comment of yours. I know it have been 1 years ago . But do mind you, that a garage punkband your in properly. IS FAR from the artists in this video..who are you to judge there skills?!

You should be learning from them...the luckly do not need that from you!

  • I think people tend to downrate Final Cut because it's considered (consciouly or not) too much of a RW solo album. I find it close to Pros and Cons than to a Floyd album. Otherwise I love it.

  • omg you got pink

  • Can't repeat this experience no more :( sounds different but it's the same thing as it was in the 70's or at Pompeii, chemistry !

  • Just joined and in a short time, I assume that this is one Mr. Richard Wright......not sure when this was made, but God bless David for adding an "original" to a sone like Echoes. How F'n awesome.........!

  • nice but too digital

  • The best solo in the entire tour!

  • FANTASTIC !!!! Whatever Floyds do becomes a masterpiece. David and Rick are just beautiful in this composition. We miss You Richard...

  • The Final Cut is one of the greatest listens ever from start to finish

  • I agree, final cut is totally underrated

ok, it may not be seen as the floyd's greatest work but why do all floyd fans have to have a "favourite era" and hate everything else? I love all pink floyd era's, that's what makes the pink floyd what they are, if you are a true floyd fan you'll love then barrett days, the waters days & the gilmour days all equally :-)

  • Io c'ero ciao

  • its funny how people still complain when the're seeing things for free

  • this guy blows my fuckin mind in these moment, god bless david gilmour and pink floyd for god sake

  • masterpiece...........

  • I didn't think you could do that. Both parts are almost twenty minutes when combined. I didn't think Youtube would let you post a video over 10 minutes or 1024 MB.

  • I think Gilmour's midichlorian level is higher than Anakin's.

  • jajajajjajaja

  • ha ha ha ha ha,...yeah

  • this tune (both parts) is so fuckin amazing musically, just inspiring me tp play music anytime i watch it

  • Love it.

It is funny to me that the video was added to youtube (8/17/06) before it happened (12/08/06).

  • I think the date "12/08/2006" is written as Day/Month/Year so it was added 5 days after it happened. Good eye :P

  • good bye richard wright good bye syed ...man the masters are leaving one after the other ...who is gonna sing the echoes like richard ...

  • It's Syd...

  • great tune i love it.really good camera man you caught the moment there you should get as job as one.lol 10/10

  • perfect ,rest in peace richard you will never be forgotten my friend i'll see u in the dark side of the moom.

  • does he ever bend wrong?

  • Vive Pink Floyd!

Echoes is one of the best psychedelic-prog-rock song ever. The guitar play can truly be the epitome of this band.

Hope see that in concert before i die...

  • If I was at stage when David THE GOD Gilmour set his holy hand on the guitar in the first solo, I would've probably cum in my underpants...

  • Why are you saying all this insulting things about me? I am very offended by you, and I want you to apologize... David Gilmour would be very unhappy if he knew his admirers talks the way you do...

  • I love how true they are to the original material.

  • this is the best pink floyd song ever

  • I love how Dave and Rick are playing off each other.

  • R.I.P. Richard Wright :(

    Great Song, Great band :)

  • yeah it sounds bad ass but its not roger waters on bass or nick mason on drums so it could be better

  • Great to see this song back in the live setting after all these years. This is my personal favorite Pink Floyd song.

  • the pink floyd must go on

  • Powerful, plenty of balls, but just wish the mix all maybe the camera pick up had the base pumping, as in Live at Pompei.

  • fuck this guys are fucking, masters of the music long live david guilmore

  • Damn, Dave & Rick were dueling so hard during the funk section...

  • People are complaining that this performance is without roger waters - I probably could'nt tell he was missing if I did'nt know it was from 2006. Not like he sings on Echoes or really has much of a signature bass style (maybe a whole lot of octave notes if anything). Pink Floyd still sounds great without him.

  • I have to agree, though Roger was a great composer there was a big change in the way albums were put together after he was gone.

  • definitey agreed he was a great composer, although his final compositions with floyd (basically the final cut) were lousy...probably better that they went on without him

  • IMHO, Waters' compositions on The Final Cut were fantastic - the music was a litlle subtle, but the lyrics were beautiful and I think the songs fit together very well to form a captivating concept. Very emotional.

But I definitely respect your opinion.

  • I have to say i never listened to The Final Cut all that much...i kinda listened a few times after i bought it as a teenager and never picked it up again. ...maybe i'll give it a few more listens before i write it off completely...appreciate the comment

  • nice pink floyd fans respect XD..

  • i have actually played both these songs and guitar and waters part is alot harder to play than people think

  • richard wright is amazing him and the master divid gilmour

  • i know it's pink floyd, i know those guys create this one of the best songs ever, but i don't like this performance, i guess is too much rithm, the drumer make some arrangements that i just don't get, i know, the pompei version of this song, make me cry, but this mm, sorri.

  • holy shit

Rick's ascending organ and Gilmour's smooth guitar gave me chills in the beginning..wow

  • Anyone know what fuzz pedal hes using on the Funk/Jam part? I think its a Big Muff but im not sure, definitly not the Arbiter Fuzz

  • i love him

    and i lov echoes

    amazingggggggggg

  • gilmour is god

  • 5:56 and what proceeds it...funk levels are off the charts. so funky i had to shut my computer down.

  • Unfortunately, I've never seen Pink Floyd live, but I was at the first night at the Royal Albert Hall with David Gilmour's concerts. One of the best nights of my life!

  • great video !!!

  • I have seen Pink Floyd twice Live... they are the best in person... I always managed to get either 3rd row or 5th row.

You are in heaven when you see them!

  • best day in my life was having my son born. second best was seeing P.F. together in the 70's...ah, yes, heaven for sure (and a lot less painful!)

  • Great video! This one is even better than the one which made it onto the DVD!

  • What a great concert it was! Lucky us who were there...

  • Wow, wonderful to see this. is the man on keyboard and vocals richard wright?

  • Yes, it is. Gilmour is great, but people shouldn't forget Wright.

  • Well I'm just surprised that people try to make somethin' outta nuthin'. All I can say, is that I enjoy the variety.. without the constant worry of what other ppl think! Fuck the critics.. enjoy the music.

  • Ok.. no Gilmour isn't better than Hendrix. No one is better than Hendrix. But I'd say Dave is #2! And for the ppl that claim Roger Waters is Pink Floyd... wtf?! Waters' lyrics are irreplaceable, but Gilmour is the sound you heard through the years! Nothin' compares to the original band, and it's something we all must get used to.. although it may suck immensely!!!

  • fuck ppl stop comparing guitarist! they are all great in their own ways and thats why we dont have one god of guitar on the radio or one person making albums. many ppl contribute to music as a whole and no one is superior over the next

  • You are 100% right...you can't say one guitarist is the best...you can't compare all guitarists against each other...how do you compare Gilmour to a Santana, or Brian May to Hendrix...they are each unique, hence their greatness...otherwise they'd just be technicians, good studio sessionists but ultimately forgettable

  • People are always gonna compare guitarists and so they should. I think Gilmour is the better guitarist although I do love hendrix too however Gilmour's sound is so clear, every note played with precision whereas sometimes I felt Hendrix could put too many notes into a space... less is more.

  • if anything lets put it this way.......theyre the best in their genre.....how bout that?

  • That's Hendrix's strap ;)

  • David Gilmour is the best guitar player ever. Even better than Hendrix himself!!!

  • best....

  • aw dave

    paula

    hang in

  • Look, as much as Roger claimed he didn't need the other 3, and vice versa, they were all full of shit. They needed each other to make that Floyd sound. Roger was the visionary and the other 3 were the vessel.

  • Bullshit, They were a barband until David took them to the next level!

  • A car isn't a car until it has wheels. David finally completed the band but that does not mean he carried them.

  • Yea, One member isn't Pink Floyd!

  • I would give anything just to hear Davids guitar live...

  • rick is cute

  • THANKS A LOT!

I gotta see em live before they retire...

  • Great Sounds Great Vibes Still Makes The Hairs On The Back Of My Neck Stand Up! Pink Floyd Rock! ;o)_

  • Great!

  • for all those people going against roger waters or david gilmour, they are all as good as eachother, rogers song writting and davids kick ass solo's, just because at one point in their lives they were at eachothers necks dnt mean you should pick sides, they are all great rock stars!

  • hear hear. seriously though, waters IS (or rather, WAS), pink floyd.

  • wright sang the song with gilmour, waters played bass in this song. I dont know what your point is??

  • i was taking the piss you absolute retard.

  • I agree, nicely put, very well indeed.

  • Man they are not rock stars!!!!!!Stop saying this ridiculous expression!!they are rockers!theres a big difference between these two terms...

  • david gilmour richards wright ,pinkfloyd ..love u all dont forget roger waters nick mason ,,and good bye syd....

  • Solo is so great. I only have two words, thanks for uploading this reminds me of pompeii

  • ;_; wonderful..I love youuuuuu

  • Thanks for upload this video. Is amazing

  • roger is a chump gilmour rules.

  • Roger is an amazing writer and arranger of music, Gilmour is an amazing guitarist. People should learn to enjoy them both.

  • You0re right pwilkas, we should learn to enjoy them both.

But something more to say: Gilmour arrenged or wrote the music of the best Roger's creations in Pink Floyd (Dogs and Time for instance).

Anyway, we shouldn't speak about that. Enjoy the music.

  • finally some one who gets it why must there be debates in vids where you cant debate or argue

  • uhh... David Gilmour wrote Dogs of War if thats what you are refering to, Roger had nothing to do with that album wasn't with the band anymore at the time for near 4 years

  • there's a Floyd song called Dogs from the album Animals..

  • You havent lived till you hear dogs, and more importantly, gilmours solo on it. Do yourself a favour and get the whole animals album.

  • beautiful.

i liked the original one better tho still amazing

  • I was there the night before....

    ...only one word: AMAZING

  • I cant wait to get the dvd remeber that night. im alos goin to the movie theatre to see the preview. Gilmour is underated, clearly better than hendrix

  • Was David and Rick, note that the band drummer looks like Mason where he was young at the 60's, jajaja, but he is an american new drummer (I don't know his name, but plays well the Nick's notes).

Great song, thank you bibirossa, I'm repeating the betotony88's words "blow my entire fucking mind, i love this song... ", (isn't sarcasm, really are the right words!!)

  • The name of the new drummer which was in last David's tour is Steve DiStanislao. Great performer.

  • david gilmour is just the best guitar player ever no more comments.

  • be careful when you say that bc some little prick will say how good jimmy page is. but every1 knows gilmour is better=P

  • yes that's true! i said on one of his videos "SIR DAVID" and some idiot replied "he's not a sir cos he's not been knighted so don't call him SIR! but to me he is sir! and probably god! the man is truly amazing! i wish i could play half as good!

  • The guys who replied to you must be really stupid

  • yeah, you are right

  • thank you VERY MUCH for this vid!!! =)

  • Like the 500th time I've watched this past few weeks, this here was simply said Awesome, personally I prefer Live version the best, because it put them to the teswt, and they walked it down easily, Some Bad crazy Awesome Mofo's up there playing this Masterpeice of Music!

  • It kind of sounds like the Live in Pompeii version. Personally, I like the studio the best from the album Meddle. Personally if you want my opinion about PF's best album it would be Meddle. It rocks!!!

  • blow my entire fucking mind, i love this song...

  • I will not need to press this as I am sure true Floyd fans will agree, Roger is still awesome as is the rest of Floyd, althoguh their not together, If you got an ear, every peice of new music they lay out still plays true to Pink Floyd of Old, Rogers got his thing Gilmour has his, as does Nick and Rick. they all rock, and all their music is Great, including solo albums

  • the studio track of this song is one of the best songs ever, along with dogs, time, numb and marooned

  • i knew iit!! :)

    thanks Mahapurusalaksana

  • Superb! Can`t wait for Gilmour`s new live dvd.

  • nu mames q bn toka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is gilmour touring with mason and wright?

    i can't see well

  • Wright is there, but I can't see Nick Mason.

  • que pedazo de musico es lo mejor david el mejor por siempre

  • This gets a little crazy and strays a bit. When Floyd toured during the 70's they sometimes played songs completely losing any recognizable hint of the song as recorded on the album. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. I heard a live recording of Brain Damage using guitars without any synthesizers believe it or not. It made me think the keyboards had broken or they lost the prerecorded loops at the last minute.

  • He plays the first solo in the style of a MLOR or Divison Bell song. The original solo, especially the version on live at Pompeii, was much spacier. Other than that, this is a smokin version.

  • If you guys like this, watch live at pompeii, its sick.

Long live pink floyd, greatest band ever

  • AMEN!! I watch that DVD everyday!

  • To bad Waters is such a prick. The Floyd would be together right now. Wish they wouldn't have been such children about things.

  • why do you think its just rogers fault you obviously know them personally

  • The Best there ever was! Just list.............

  • i suppose i shouldn't have said post pink floyd...what i meant was they came after pink floyd had already started my bad buddy

  • yes guy is on bass...

  • also wanted to point out that there is another video version of this i have on VHS...way older ..it was the Live at Pompei video! very hard to find..or at least it was several years ago

  • yeah..i've got it too afroggie. They released Live at Pompeii on DVD.

  • I have the dvd and vhs of the wall movie, live at pompeii and pulse

  • i gotta agree with the previous post..i gotta say Echos is a personal favorite..i think meddle was my favorite album..San tropez...another great...its so hard to decide....other albums had their greats too. dogs, pigs, sheep..LOL...pink floyd...amazing group..its funny, but when i attended my classes at Berklee, my music theory class actually harmonically analyzed alot of pink floyd songs as well as the beatles, but floyd is my fave.

  • hahahaha meddle 2k showed bolla what's up...tell people to think before they speak when you don't even know what you are talking about yourself...gilmours solo albums all came post pink floyd...he had a brief spell in jokers wild, as was previously stated...i enjoy some songs on all his solo albums but not all of them and division bell i think is stil his best work

  • gilmour 's 2 first solo albums didn't come post floyd...

first one came out before the wall and second one before momentary lapse of reason....

and you say the other guy don't what he's talking about haha

  • best pink floyd song ever? i dunno, either this or dogs are my personal 2 favorites and i'm if someone comes on here who's only heard there radio hits and says what about comfortable numb and money i won't take you seriously...great songs but only say they are your favorites if they are your true favorties after you have heard all of which the phenomenal pink floyd has to offer

  • Una magia irripetibile.

  • My first thought after leaving the concerts in New York was, "I hope to god he is recording one of these shows for DVD" I couldnt stand the thought of never experiencing those shows again. In the mean time its great that many people placed these recordings on UTube of all of us to enjoy. I would love to here some discussion on achieving great tone. Ive been a long time Gilmour fan and just recently started playing. Id be interested to know what other guitarists have to say.

  • just marvellous

  • yes i think the bas player is guy pratt - his father-in-law is a famous keyboard player

  • dave has such a kickass tone.

  • im pretty sure guy pratt is on bass, could be wrong

  • OMG . . . I cannot wait for the release of the DVD "Remember that Night" slated for September 2007. It was recorded at Royal Albert Hall. Yes, "Echoes" should be included. Confirmed are also "Comfortably Numb" and "Arnold Layne," BOTH featuring David Bowie. The "Two Davids" should rock!!!

  • Geatest album have u seen the movie on ww.globalrapture dot com???

  • To Mahapurusalaksana, the song is called Echoes, and it is from the album 'meddle'. There is an excellent version of it split into two parts on the DVD "pink floyd, live in pompei" if you're a fan, check it out. It was recorded just prior to Dark side... being released. This concert version is quite good, I hope it comes out onan offical release.

  • I apologize for my ignorance. I thought the name of the album was "Echoes", not the song. Lucythedogg, thank you very much!!!!!:)

  • what's the name of this fantastic music? and thx for uploading

  • This song is such A unique masterpiece. Nice video, awesome to see A live version. Thanks for uploading!

  • amazing

  • Its definately not Waters on stage, if only....

Superb song, Wright has really got his confidence back during this tour, playing some superb keyboards.

  • No Waters, It's Dave Gilmour's solo tour..

  • He he... I think rock n' roll died when these guys brought their coffee on stage. Look at 7.50 in front of Rick ;-)

Anyway... thanks for posting - great video

  • It's water, they would never drink coffee on stage, if they did, it would be tea since English folk typically don't like American coffee...and they have to have water on stage...if you ever played live you would know that.

  • well... I did played on stage and water? yes... just never seen a thermobottle on stage befor ;-)

  • Saw him do this at the Albert Hall and the only word to describe it is epic. Just blew you away.

Shame the lights didn't work. Marc Brickman, who designed the lighting on the Pulse tour did Gilmour's tour and they were out of this world!

  • amazing! i love this song!

  • Really how far u think pink floyd would of got without gilmour.not sayin that they would of sucked by no means but...he added alot the the band..his guitar playin alone

  • rick wright also added unique keyboard/piano/organ sounds to the band that make it pink floyd, as well as nick's drumming style. roger waters has average bass playing nothing special but really good songwriting talent.. in other words everyone plays an equal part in making this band what it is.. an awesome band

  • This is giving me chills. Freaking awesome!!

  • In the 70's this song must have been really heavy!

I love and adore PF, they are my favouritte band!

And stop comparing Gilmour and Rogers. Rogers was good on guitar, lyrics and sound-experimenting while Gimour was a excelent player on guitar and ok on lyrics.

    PF4LIFE <3
