@StrikingShadow1 sadly, to break ur balls (not on purpose) they said there will be no mod support for BF3, i have no idea why but i wish they did. AND IM ON CONSOLE! Just watching this game makes me feel so into it, actually play would be a different story, i would buy it and play it but only problem is that when i try to run the demo a black screen appears and nothing shows up :(

@TheBrick534 Thats so disappointing. My balls are indeed broken. Seems like an odd move by Dice, seeing as the PC wil be the primary console for BF3 (the console versions will be ports, unlike CoD 6 and BO). One of the best things about BF2 was its mods, ever when the game itself became stale, BF2 had some of the most amazing mods (many of which won alot of awards) to keep you interested. PR on the BF3 engi would have such amazing potential.

And be sure to read the manual.., because you could be facing 5 minute spawn times, looking like an idiot, being yelled at, and/or a ban from the server. Just listen to your squad leader and if he's Bice he'll answer any questions you have. AND GET A MICROPHONE HEADSET!!!! this is one of the most important things. What good is a solider without a mouth.

The learning curve is steep. You can't play this the like you would play battlefield 2 or call of duty. I have been playing for almost a year and iv gotten the hang of it. I recommend this mod to all people who like the military channel. The only thing that passes this is arma 2... And you need a computer that's hooked up to the sun to play that!

@cityslicker202 Well I dont. You'd need to check the Big D Gaming Forums (check link in discription) to see if the others still play, or if Big D even still has PR servers. If you live in Australia or NZ, Ide recommend going to those forums and making a post if you want to find a team/squad to regularly play with. Alot of nice guys in that community, very helpful to begginers and have alot of knowledge and understand of how PR works.

@xerfes some weapons take a while to reload, so if you don't have a mic, or do and just want to say it anyways, it can be a useful way to coordinate ceaseless fire, as in there is always one person suppressing while the other reloads

@xerfes its simulates real life, u don't have to say it but there's a button for it, its meant fore firefights when your doing controlled fire, if u say reloading your teammates know that your gun is temporally down so they can make up for the loss in firepower during suppression etc, or know not to run to new cover thinking you got them covered etc... id say its needed alot, u just need ppl who know what their doing

@rockyson990Go into your program files, find EA Games - Battlefield 2 - Mods - PR then find pr.exe and run as administrator.

You need an online account to play multiplayer, but you can also play co.op.

There is always at least 1 full 64 player server in both America and Europe, with others fluctuating depending on the time of day/night.

@1783Breakaway Apart from both having an industry high level of realism PR and Arma2 are very different, Arma2 has many fictional and arcade elements as well if you didn't notice (Chenarus and Takistan aren't real places for starters).

The term 'military simulator' used to classify Arma is just as misleading as the name 'Project Reality', they're both GAMES focused primarily on fun gameplay for their target audience. Realism and authenticity are always compromised in entertainment.

@DarkBrawlRiver They are similar in some ways, but very different in others. Both mods attempt to have relatively-realistic gameplay and authentic weapons. But the scale and complexity of PR is much greater, arguably so is the level of teamwork.

The last major release (0.9 - March 2010) actually broke the simultaneous player record (over 2000).

@girlmagnet12 There are no mod tools for Bad Company 2, so even if they wanted to mod it they couldn't.

They are working on modding ArmA2 which is far more appropriate for PR game play than BC2 anyway.

If Battlefield 3 has mod support there's a chance they might mod it to some extent (someone would do a PR-like mod eitherway).

Besides PR is more popular than it ever has been and BF2 is still played by thousands at a time, the community is not going anywhere anytime soon.

@xerone10 This ones probably on GamingSA BigD but it's Australian so you might not have a good ping depending on where you are. There's other servers with a lot of teamwork though. Straight after 0.9 was a bit chaotic as it usually is immediately after a release when a bunch of noobs try it.

For playing PR? Yes you do, it's a mod for Battlefield 2 Version 1.5. I believe you also need the addon Special Forces.

But seeing that it's just a couple o' bucks on steam and even on sale from time to time it's really worth it...

I loved being the blackhawk pilot, dropping of guys, providing air support, amazing work for such an game. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is supposed to mimic this but this game is one of a kind, theres supposed to be air support like jets to!
