Ha ha interesting POV I've never thought about it. Yes sewage system could be a cause in older neighborhoods where it's not well planned or renovated. But I think it might partly be the lack of closed lid trashcans which Korea started introducing around 2000. While it's quite well spread out now, some areas and houses still don't have their own closed lid trashcans due to cost. And yeah Koreans are really touchy feely amongst friends whether opposite sex or same sex. I forgot about that lol

@sinblader korean is a really hard language, but luckily its really fun too^^ the basics are super easy but once i became better i realized how hard it can be. for most english speakers, i think the honorifics would be the hardest part, for me its the crazy grammar haha i like honorfics for the most part :) also koreans reallllly appreciate when foreigners try to learn their language because english is quite confusing too. so you should be fine if you practice a lot and meet korean friends!

@videomonkey10 ummm about the whole traditional family thing, and the woman always cooking, i think its just your host families haha!

the reason why the dads stay out for so long is because the economy is so hard they cant afford to not work a lot, so i guess the mum chooses to work less hours, eg come home earlier than the dad to cook for the kids. its not cos they dont want the women working, its just that they do need someone at home for a while. all of the people i knowwork haha :)

Koreans are more touchy partly because they are more open towards their feelings.. When I say that, things like love are very openly said and used..

Like couples would say I love you 10000x a day... which might get a little annoying.

Homosexuality is not more open in Korean than US, but if you look at it this way, people in US make fun of gays A LOT.. And they are made fun off publically and people are VERY sensitive about people being gay...
