  • is there a season 3? anyone? plz ....

  • I had to look up the word tempestuous....

  • @alexandrakatie ohh, thank you!

  • His diction and choice of words in casual conversation is flawless.... never misses a beat but never over does it.

  • It's an alien

  • 1:13 - 1:19 ....may someone please deduce for me what benedict is talking about here? ^.^ my god, I love this man.

  • @elliexx242 "L'esprit d'escalier", pretty much just a french term for what he's just been talking about: coming up with the perfect comeback once it's too late to use it.

  • Did anyone else hear "He's the one who fills the food with fridge" or was that just me?

  • that voice!!

  • Eyes open: Benedict Cumberbatch

    Eyes closed: Alan Rickman.

  • I would so be the John Watson of the story. Kind of get it but not really at all but still helpful to have around

  • Leaping off roofs. Must he say that?

  • does he have a hint of a lisp....?

  • I just found myself smiling through-out this entire video.

  • 3:00 "fills the food with fridge"

  • @sekajiku hahahaha

  • Very soothing voice... Like... Coffee, black coffee. Not honey because that's too light, voice is that thick, deep, rich flow; definitely black coffee, decaffeinated. I wanted to grab and blanket and a pillow and curl up with a pink stuffed bunny, just to listen to this interview....

  • i need some beard

  • I don't mean to sound like a complete horndog but I just wanna climb on top of him and suck on his neck while he talks about anything really.

  • @yellow1980daisy totally! I thought i'm the only one ;D

  • Lol, the voice asking sounds like Sally Donovans, am I right? xD

  • I love his voice, mmmmmm :)

  • I love you! *swoon*

  • bennie has a lisp, how cute

  • @TheVenerated does he? i've never noticed it

  • anybody else hear when he said fills the food with fridge?

  • I absolutely love Cuberbatch as Sherlock! He's perfect (and good-looking)

  • 2:32 ♥♥♥

  • I feel that I am involuntarily morphing into a Cumberbitch while he's talking....

  • He is Sherlock, Matt is the doctor. Steven Moffat can really choose THE perfect person to play a character.

  • He's got a lisp. The cutest lisp ever.. ♥__ ♥

  • @HasseBeckett97 i only notice it in interviews, never wen hes acting, amazing

  • @TheVenerated yeah! I know. It's so cute and amazing how he entirely becomes the person he's playing! Love him! ♥

  • Sorry, what did he say from 01:13 to 01:17?

  • @iamfrommercury HAHAHAHA, watching it back, I literally have no idea xD

  • "He's a very attractive character to play"

I think "He's a very attractive character" Would suffice.

  • "Fills the food with fridge", uh, NO, it's "Fills the fridge with head". GAWD, Benedict.

  • I could listen to him speaking for the rest of my life and never get bored. Plus he's the most stunningly beautiful human being on the planet.

  • French, spoken quickly, with an English accent. Even though I know the phrase, had to listen to that bit 3 times to hear it right, haha.

  • Sexiest voice since Alan Rickman.

  • I'm so glad that he took the role... =) xx

  • XD "He's probably the one that fills the food with fridge" XD Got it a bit wrong there XD

  • is he sweaty or just shiny?

  • @clarepies he probably just finished filming a very intricate scene :)

  • He really is brilliant :) I loved him in War Horse and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, too. Him and Martin make an excellent pair <3

  • This man makes my mouth water...

  • His voice of absolutely hypnotizing...

  • i can just sit and watch him talk... :)

  • Benedict. You have ruined me.

  • Downy jr. killer.

    i mean, wow.

  • This interviewer has no idea how lucky she is.

  • @frizzboo123 No I bet she does. I'm sure when he walked into the room she smelled the sexy and was like "Damn, I am so lucky."

  • Hello, Benedict. I would like to be your flatmate just so I could hear you speaking every day. BE MY FLATMATE NOW. *drools*

  • The fact that he talks about Sherlock really just feels like a bonus – "Benedict Cumberbatch talks" would've been more than enough! HIS VOICE!! <3

  • ..Was he just out of the shower? He's all shiny and damp.

  • Even their actors ship Johnlock.

  • THEY NEED EACH OTHER. Yes. Thank you Benedict.

  • Oh God, Benedict, please keep talking!

  • When he goes quiet and starts to growl... Drool :P

  • He's a very attractive character full stop

  • The heir to Alan Rickman.

  • @ErnilEnNaur "The heir to Alan Rickman." ...so you're saying that Alan Rickman has been bequeathed to Benedict Cumberbatch? Is that even possible?

  • once i finished watching this video, my room was full of my drool

  • "Stray from the books" as in GODtiss will give us some romance.

  • Yeah Ben, we get it, you are inhumanly beautiful. You don't need to rub it in our faces... when you could be rubbing something else in my face...

  • I love this man so much.

  • "drawn like a moth to the flame to Sherlock.."

  • I thought he said "Puts the food in the fridge" :P

  • @Bubblesgirl3000 i heard that too

  • I am in love with this man.

  • @magicgirl192 me too.... we should have a duel haha

  • "fills the food with fridge". you're so cute, benedict

  • Comment removed

  • @SpringNicht8 You seem Totally Awesome yourself ;)

  • @SpanTheWorld14 Thanks, I try ;)

  • @Rubystein You'd have to be intelligent to play character like Sherlock the brilliant way he does.

  • the coolest man alive

  • You no what else is like-able? Not just Benedict, but this video.

  • Господи, прошу тебя, пусть кто-нибудь сделает хотя бы английские субтитры!

  • @ICarobelleI Ахаха! Я вот тоже подумала хоть о каких нибудь субтитрах. Ан нет.

  • A bit OT: Thank you, Benedict Cumberbatch, for acknowledging there is the high probability Sherlock has a type of autism. At least all the fans who have and are contemplating this aren't completely off the mark is the actor who plays him understands him as being so.

  • @LucianaMihaela It's obvious. If he is a socio/psychopath then were is the sexual perversion/promiscusity, the physical torture of animals, the history of deliquency as a child? He appears to be a socio/psychopath because he was alone and withdrawn. But John is changing that, John is bringing him out of his shell.

  • How annoying is it there are only six of them ? For boring people like me with nothing to do, 9 hours isn't enough. I downloaded the older series to fill the void. It's like methadone for a smack addict. It's just not the same.

  • Is Donovan asking him the questions?

  • He could narrate my life.

  • Am I the only one that replayed him swallowing at 2:29?

  • Comment removed

  • i could hear his voice for like... forever.

  • His hands are MASSIVE. Just sayin'.

  • @nataleebooo So are feet...hehe.

  • I just watched this whole thing...and now have to watch it again because I didn't listen to a word. I was too engrossed in staring at his beautiful face. <3

  • I got completely hooked on the show when I was watching season 2. Today I saw the final episode and now I miss Sherlock already...I want new episodes!! :'''''''''(

  • Love him, but the interviewer's voice pisses me off.

  • Comment removed

  • the smartest actor I've ever fancied!

& it's really the most interesting interview I've ever heard!

  • Comment removed

  • i swear i can hear him talking the rest of my life and i won't get tired

  • <3 benedict cumberbatch <3

  • love him !!! Sherlock is the Best !!

    thanks for sharing ^^

  • just keep saying words please

  • Cumberbatch is great, but he makes a common mistake here that people need to stop making. Everyone needs to stop referencing Sherlock's "Aspergers/autism." He is clearly affected by neither (particularly not autism).

  • @sporks811 He doesn't say Sherlock was autistic, he said he was slightly autistic/sociopathic. Clearly, Sherlock is neither but has those tendencies. And as a person who has experience socializing with people with Aspergers, I'd agree.

  • @xnwn I disagree, I know quite a few people with AS and those who are high functioning Aspies remind me soooo much of this take on this character.

  • @sporks811 He said he is autisitic and sociopathic in his approach at times which I think means he has autistic/sociopathic tendencies or behaviour similar to people who are either rather than saying he is actually autistic/a sociopath.

  • @sporks811 I think he has high functioning Asperger's Syndrome. I don't like when people assume he is some sociopath/psychopath. The only part of the diagnosis I don't like is OCD-like behaviors but I have an idea that it is implied. I personally know quite a few Aspies due to my professional and personal life and his behavior is sooooo similar to those I know. Curious to know what you think the diagnosis or issue is here with SH.

  • @lesababy Asperger's it is. I wouldn't say high functioning, perhaps mild, but his solitude worsened it, whereas with John it kind of "gets better" since John is very Socratic in his communication. Definitely not a sociopath.

  • @SherlocksCheekbones Thank you. The character is developing before our eyes. SH said he was a sociopath and others believe it also. But there is a big difference between AS and being a sociopath or psychopath. First if he was a sociopath then were is the sexual perversion of promoscuity, Mycroft would have told John about a troubled childhood involving deliquency or animal torture. Plus a psychopath uses people to there own ends and cares nothing for them.

  • @SherlocksCheekbones Look at how SH's life has changed now John is in it. He has friends and he even apologizes when he make social faux pas. Everyone thinks John is his lover when John is his referee. If this series had more episode I think a real transformation of SH's personality would have time to come out in the open and he would appear more human.

  • @lesababy Well, whilst I do believe need to learn the difference, they mostly need to listen... In "Hounds of Baskerville", the second episode of Series 2, Watson mentions to Lestrade Asperberg's. So, whilst one could summarize the obvious that years of research has brought to light (and people really should know what things mean before they go off and talk about them so confidently), it was also already mentioned in the series itself... leaving no room really for conjecture. :)

  • @SherlocksCheekbones And I need to learn to spell-check before I post! Ha!

  • @SherlocksCheekbones Thank you. I'm a therapist and have worked with individuals with disabilities for almost 20 years and to me it is obvious. Society, the media and movies always portray people as sociopaths and psychopaths when there are so many other diagnosis to describe people's issues. A simple google of all of these terms would have cleared up the issue for most people.

  • @lesababy

John can't change him. Whatever reason for Sherlock's mind, it's not simple and it's not changeable. He's just the way he is. He doesn't feel things the same way that most people do. He cares about certain people in his own way. And really, coming out of his shell would mean becoming like Moriarty: abandoning all social restraints and searching for more interesting ways to be less bored.

  • @irurwurst No, John can't change him but he can change his ability to cope. John has done it in every episode of the show so far. He checks his behavior. And if Sherlock comes out of his shell more he will not be like Moriarty.... Moriarty is a true psychopath, Sherlock is not. Sherlock has high functioning Aspergers and will never abandon his social restraints because a person with AS has trouble understanding them in the first place.

  • @SherlocksCheekbones I think he really needs a sexy black woman.....like me!!!!

  • 3:18 "rooftops"....

    Reichenbach....

    *cries in the corner*

  • sorry but did anyone catch at 2:58 when he says "fills the food with fridge"?

  • @1ofthooosedays lololol

  • @1ofthooosedays hahahahahaha that bit made me laugh so much :D oh how I love you benedict..

  • @1ofthooosedays "...and does all the sort of slightly more domestic chores..."

  • I think Digital Spy tried to do a "sly" I.Q. test.

Benedict Cumberbatch just showed them he's in a *very* small minority.

  • did she really ask that question do you think he is a likeable character have you seen him i mean look at those cheak bones i could cut myself slapping them

  • he actually talk like sherlock = =

  • @lazydalmatian That's why they chose him, he's the perfect Sherlock ;)

  • His voice: a jaguar in a cello. Yum.

  • @indigo321 have you heard Alan Rickman?

  • Anderson, don't talk out loud. you lower the IQ of the whole street

  • There's only one thing wrong with the sherolock bbc thing.

people outside Britain can't see the video's on the bbc site:(''

  • @mathijssmith I know my Americaland want to watch this so much, I'm even exporting the DVD to one of them.

  • "do you think he's a likable character?" why on earth would you have a tv show with an unlikable main character? NO ONE would watch it lol!

  • @barbaro267

I take it you've never watched House, then?

  • @aureusyarara what does this have to do with House? People like House because he's brilliant and funny.

  • @barbaro267 Oh, sorry, must have responded to the wrong person, my apologies!

I just mentioned House because someone said something along the lines of "if the main character is unlikable, no one would watch the show" and that made me recall season-one House, who was as unlikable as a main character can be (rude, tactless, selfish, cowardly, etc.) and his only saving grace was his encyclopedic knowledge of illnesses.

  • @aureusyarara House's personality was very much based on that of Sherlock Holmes. Google it!

  • @mansonemu

I didn't say it wasn't. Also, everyone who watches House already knows that.

  • His face is incredible... Those cheekbones and eyes are just beautiful

  • I could listen to his voice for hours on end and never get tired of it.

  • @sarahmichele09 He's voice is sooo sexy, i totally agree

  • god I completly missed the content of this interview, I just melted at that voice -//-

  • listening to him talk is completely hypnotizing. absolutely transfixing. god i love him.

  • <3 <3 <3

His voice is just perfect and the fact that he's so passionate about the character just adds to his amazingness!

  • God, he´s the one and only Sherlock, I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove him

  • Facts:

    1) Child getting scared for no reason upon seeing Sherlock - obvious bad experience with a doppelganger.

    2) Sherlock / Molly scene, completely out of character... only makes sense if it was part of a plan Sherlock was hatching.

    3) Sherlock asked Watson to stay exactly where he was and 'don't come a step closer'. He wanted him to be at an optimal location to see what was about to happen (a trick that could only have worked at a specific angle)

    Ringin' a bell, anyone?

  • @TheKachukuma Reichenbach . do I need to say any more??

everyone who didn't get it from the title need to know his classic, right?

    XD

  • @carolineohplease - fine! But I wanna come to the wedding...

  • can i just marry him?

  • im so happy to hear how much he loves the series.

  • I think it's pretty obvious that some sort of mask was used by Moriarty to impersonate Holmes, hence the girl screaming. And maybe Holmes knew that he had the mask on him on top of the roof, so he planned for Molly to use that on any body. She would be the coroner so she can lie and say that it is definitely Holmes. That's just my theory. Oh and I also think he jumped onto something like a laundry truck or whatever.

  • That room makes me think of the room where neo takes the pill in the matrix.

  • I have no idea how it could have been done. It I think Molly and Sherlock used a different already dead body to fling off the building. And Watson couldn't tell it wasn't Sherlock because of the motorbike that hit him to the ground. Also he said to John look at me very closesly as I jump.

  • @ATurtleAteMyTrex I agree. It was funny how Moriaty didn't include Molly in his "friends" list. He underestimated her.

  • To the 8 ppl who disliked this, go away. You're lowering the IQ of the entire street.
