  • wheat12341...the time is now man....this is the greatest band of all time and it is a travesty the laws are not in the rock and roll hall... I may drive my wife crazy, but I play ONLY outlaws in my automobile ....got every byte of music (including Henry Paul Band..I consider them Outlaws music...) ever written (someone send me a link to Freddie Salem's band PLEASE...) by them, I THINK!... 10 live concerts, every one of them indelibly etched in my conscience...

  • Great band always early 70s was the time

  • I saw this band four times in different forms. The best was 1976 but Hughie was always an Outlaw even when he was playing for Skynrd. I always thought that this song was underrated and that the Outlaws belong in th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • i can't believe your gone either there' will always be a little of you in everything i ever play its the only way to keep the tears back by my friend

  • I agree, Hughie's been the best...

RIP brother in the great musicians' heaven.

  • I remember spending a couple of days teaching one of my best friends to dance to this song for her wedding. Ahhh memories.

  • in which album is this song'?

  • @thewyldeone89 this is off their album Ghost Riders( in the sky) which is out of print but you can find it on amazon

  • thanks you tube for making new bands available to us in n ireland

  • FANTASTIC !!!!

  • A very moving song. Abject sadness and pain illustrated through heartbreaking lyrics and haunting guitar.

  • Allthough being a outlawsfan from the beginning, i never heard this version before. It once again shows Hughie had a voice polished by wisky and desertsand. Don't laugh, i mean it positivily!

  • Just absolutely beautiful.. This haunting melody is done so perfectly.. such sadness, such hopelessness.. so profoundly expressed here......

  • Great piece. I'll never understand why Phil Colins was given the rights to make it a crap.

  • @maralexdim I am so with you. First time I heard the Colins version I wanted to know who was killing the song and why were they doing so.

  • @MsNapcat You put it perfectly. Killing the song.

  • @maralexdim At least Phil picked a good one for a remake

  • Great song by Hughie. RIP. Keep the Outlaws music alive.

  • What a voice!

    What a fine guitarist!

  • I had this ALBUM lol love the song

  • @gargrimm greatest voice i ever heard. rip hughie...

  • G R I T S is one of the greatest Southern Rock albums of all time, and I love this song!!! If you can, listen to "White Horses", "Angels Hide", Devil's Road", and "Wishing Wells"...

  • @HDangerism yeah that album is a ROCKER

ill never figure out how some elpees fall thru the cracks

b/c there were at least 4-5 'hits' on that thing imo

  • @HDangerism dont follow your 'GRITS' the one i had was called 'in the eye of the storm' the only track that wasnt excellent (imo) was the costello cover

no offense to elvis intended just didnt seem to fit

the rest of it is top notch all excellent cuts ballads and rockers both

freddie salem really shines on the thing

  • never be another one like Hughie the vocals

the tearing a guitar up hard to believe your gone

this song will always bring tears to my eyes

    byr my friend

  • @tuneit2 Hughie was the Outlaws. When billy died it was hard but the fire burned bright cause of hughie. When his flame was extinguished in '07 that was the END for the Outlaws. Really sux cause I wanted to take my kids to one of his shows.

  • @chillichomper take them to one of their shows now. They still bring down the house. One of the best bands Ive seen in a while.

  • this tune breaks my heart everytime i hear it. i bought the "tape' when it came out. Rest In Peace Hughie. Thanks for posting

  • The Outlaws are being rediscoverd, because you cannot deny great music

  • Chilling steel guitar solo.

    Thanks for posting.

  • can do w/o the video to this but not w/o the audio ... great great take on billy nicholls'

    capturing heartbreak in a song

so thank you very much overall for tubing this 1

  • We lost a legend when Hughie passed, RIP brother!!!!!

  • The Outlaws! I have been looking for this version of this song for a long, long time. Thank you for posting it. Fantastic!

  • echo your words -- word for word.

hard to choose a favorite 'laws tune, but this one definitely makes the short list.

the guitar army taking a break from the battle to sing a love letter back home.

  • This is the absolute best version of this song, easily flaws leo sayer/phil collins/keith urban's versions

  • Arturo!! You're the man!! Thank you so much for this. Such a beautiful song, and a fantastic video to go along with it. You rock!!!

  • that beautiful music video,

    congratulations!
