Jazz is not hard to learn. All you gotta do is simplify all the theory and basically break it down to patterns and finger movements. After that, you pretty much just dance to the music and start shaking what your mama gave ya
@ironwolg Not really. I started off with blues, which taught me the basic scales (major and minor pentatonic) and chords (maj(7), m(7)(b5), dim(7), 7), so the first thing I tackled with jazz was the minor 2-5 progression, applying what I already knew. Then I learned the scale modes, and moved on to major 2-5's. Sure, I've got a long way to go, but I got a very solid start with no difficulty at all.
Whenever I write a song, I teach myself something completely new, and it adds up quick.

One thing he doesn't tell you is that you substitute the dom7th for the V in the II-V-I (major key) or ii-V-i (minor key). At least I'm pretty sure.

Love your sound man. Who said smooth jazz is dead? As long as we keep making "good smooth" it won't die.
