  • Enfield didn't completely rip this off - in his sketches he just talked about 'what if?' scenarios whereas here Pete and Dud's characters are meant to have actually seen what they are talking about.

  • Class !!

  • Fantastic

  • 3.07 onwards love it when Dud corpses...and Pete goes as well

  • Strange to think that a few years later a certain young lad from Dagenham with a club foot would be frolicking with Bo Derek on a beach. I'll bet Peter Cook thought he was in the twilight zone!

  • Great! Oh, I remember these sketches first time round. I do miss Pete and Dud, RIP boys....bloody Greta Garbo had nothing on these two. LOL

  • i defy anyone not to grin when dud cant stop laughing into his pint!!class

  • Save the birth of my child nothing has ever brought me greater happiness than the sight of Dud stifling his laugh in his pint.

  • legends, hilarious then, now & for all time!

  • greta garbo.what an actress!!

  • @xABitTooGorgeousx Too stupid to use a ladder though.

  • the left upper........

  • Many years later Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse tried to do 2 men in the pub characters,I think they were called " the self righteous brothers". Total rip off of Pete and Dud but nowhere near as funny.

  • @sanjacintomercysteet Quite right. I didn't mind Harry Enfield but Paul Whitehouse was crap. I remember a sketch Whitehouse kept doing where he was a footballer talking some foreign language and it was so boring, yet he kept doing the same sketch week after week.

  • Classic stuff.. Our loss is heavens gain....

  • Class!!

  • these and Morecambe and wise, comic genius

  • 5:19 to 5:27 is unbearably funny

  • classic double act, this proper comic timing,

  • wasnt this completely ad lib?

  • @TPG250494 I dont think it was all ad lib, but there were quite a few unrehearsed bits whenever they were together. Such as "Which Cheek?" Pete just did it to try and catch Dud out. Classic stuff.

  • Rest in peace boys. You'll never be bettered.

  • I sing about Greta Garbo and others in The Celebrity Song.

  • Same appened to me, bloody Greta Garbo

  • I have a tape of Not only... But Also... (The Best of... What's left of...)

    GET OUTTA 'ERE YA HUSSY

    stop pestering me!

  • timeless and classic!

  • Comedy at it's finest!! I miss these guys...

  • What cheek was that the? The left upper!

Now that's what I call surreal oneupmanship. They were just brilliant.

Sad they didn't stay friends like other fantastic comedy duos such as the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise..

  • i think they definitely loved each other really deep down except Peter resented some of the things that Dud had going for him later in his career like movie superstardom, weath and attention without being entirely satisfied with what he had that Dud didnt like an incomparably brilliant genius comedy wit

  • Thank you Strickenbacker,my absolute favourite Pete and Dud sketch, good work!

  • Enfield nicked this!

  • This has to be one of the greatest sketches ever. Its no wonder they can't keep a straight face.

  • Tottenham Hotspur FC...

  • Oh, this sketch never fails to make me laugh.

    Two comedic greats

  • Thanks for posting this, it's pure brilliant!
