Seriously, would the dumb-ass who voted 'against' this freakishly amazing improv be so kind as to report his/her currect location to me, so I can personally come and kick his/her blatantly frustrating ass?
@chilkari Your videos are perpetually amazing, man. You're a huge source of inspiration for many of us, of that I'm sure. (;
@captainwiggles777 Heh. Yes, it is actually me. ;) -- although all of my new videos are going up on my new channel: "groovewindow" - if you want the new stuff, that's where it'll be.
@e3133d3 - I'll see if I can't whip out a transcription for this when I get a free couple of hours, and post it to my site...
Fantastic rhythm control, amazing riffs. Congratulations also for the pro quality of this recording, video and soung. Good piano tuning. Guy like you should live forever (@_@)
@llanfairpwllgwyn Yep - just put it right behind center of piano, aimed at piano back. Levels must be set to low to accommodate the volume. Lots of ways to do it -- this way is a very 'direct' sound, but you tend to pick up the middle register more than the high/low ends. Just experiment with placement. The recorder does a great job, though -- especially for the price :)
hugely inspiring for me, i'm just starting off, can't afford lessons ATM so i just try and sit down for a couple of hours a night and just go for it haha great video.
from my experience, piano lessons are usually only useful for reading music. If you wana play by feel, learn some chord progressions and practice scales, then make up your own stuff.
Im a self taut, play by ear pianst with a feel for rythym,
over the last year I have gone through all you blues lessons, you have opened a new world to me. unlike other cheesy piano lessons I can easly stay focused and interested. I am completely in love with the blues, I now play in a band and get a LOT of complments! All thanks to you jonnyboy. Keep it up. this bluesy groove is so fun to play.
It is really a pleasure. And inspiring as always. It is true: When listening to what you are doing, one immediately wants to learn it. Thank you very much! ^.^

What's your recorder? Zoom H4 or H4n?
llanfairpwllgwyn 1 year ago
@llanfairpwllgwyn It's the H4 - I've had it since before the H4N came out :)
chilkari 1 year ago
@chilkari You just put in behind the piano, right? Asking of interest because I want to purchase an H4n and record upright piano with it.
The sound quality is terrific, by the way. Wouldn't expect it from a thing so cheap.
