Actually..XM got more NEW subs EVERY quarter. That is fact. The NET, yeah, sirius had more. Because of all the lifetime memberships that will never go away (and its window dressing, but will hurt Sirius in the long run because it costs about 5 years of subs, but then they lose money afterwards) and because of all the cars sitting on lots that are counted, and also because Siri give 1 and 2 year free subs that haven't churned out yet, while the XM free subs that were for 3 months have.
