I was actually born in '78, but I have such fondness for this kind of stuff... And yay Scotland for the Bay City Rollers, even if the guys have had their downs...
I read Leslie's book. He talks about wanting to cry after this show debuted and he saw how awful it was. They were so much better than this, but really had bad, bad management.
Good grief! I remember watching this with my cousin the night it aired. Back in the day, we used to look forward to the night-before preview show as much as the Saturday morning shows themselves. Fifty thousand points out of ten to the uploader, who managed to yank 33 years worth of rug right out from under me.
How wonderful to see the 50's skit with the guys in their gold lamee' suits again. I watched this back in 78, but I didn't remember everything that happened. For those who don't know, or who live in the UK, all 3 networks used to show cartoons and shows for kids on Saturday mornings. When the new fall season would start, they would have a preview show on the Friday night before premiering the new shows on Saturday. This was one of those shows, with the Rollers as the hosts.
@ZealiaZ I'm assuming it's missing a few minutes (it looks as though it is), but I'm not sure since I wasn't alive to see it when it aired. I only edited out the commercials and a few seconds (in the middle of the program -_- ) of what looked like Yogi Bear. What I uploaded is what's left. :/
@metalmickeyiscute VCR's weren't real commonplace then either. I bought my first one in '79 and it cost me $1200! Blank tapes were $25 each, too. Before that, if you wanted a way to remember a show you'd sit a audio tape recorder in front of your tv speaker and record that.
@kitten645 If I tried when my brother was home he would purposely make farty sounds to ruin the tape. I actually jumped him one time for doing that and snatched a chunk of hair right out of his head. Another time I pulled a butcher knife on him. He's the only one I ever did that to. He learned that you don't get between me and my Roller boys! ;-)

The ending was definitely influenced by the 1950's retro-fad of that time. Happy Days (Scott Baio is obvious) and SHA NA NA.

@metalmickeyiscute The commercials are edited out. I have a copy of the show that has the commercials included (from 7:52 onward.)

@iamyipyow I'm afraid I don't have the software to do so, sorry. If you want to do a DVD trade for it though, you can send me a message.

Kudos to the person who had enough money to purchase a VCR back then.
