  • @centurion180ad Guess you've never heard of the Lockheed 188 Electra. It was a commercial airline from the 1950's that the Navy chose to convert to an ASW platform. I myself have around 5000 hours in them. The Navy called it the P-3. I love the Sky Pig, but she's past her prime. Time to replace her.

  • P8 is a WHITE ELEPHANT

    It is IMPOSSIBLE to replace a naval 4 engine turboprop with a wide body airliner with 2 jet engines.

  • @centurion180ad The 737 is a narrow body. A wide body airliner would be an aircraft with more than one aisle.

    I was not talking in reference to comparing different passenger aircraft among themselves, but comparing a civil passenger carrying design to a military design, and aircraft designed tor performance not economy.

  • @centurion180ad Agreed i flying the four prop of freedom over seas right now and i dont want the p8. One main reason, being a SS3 i like having my own station!
