In a fight where neither fighter scored takedown or had submission attempts, fight should be scored strictly based on effective striking and damage - Shogun landed clearly more than Lyoto and he did way more damage - Lyoto left the octagon with bruised face, swollen legs and broken hand

When Rua "jumped in" to attack, Machida's response, for the first time in his career, was to move back as opposed to countering.

@robertinho102 Except against Rua who beat him by KO. I'll go a step further and say that Machida was "scared" this fight because of the pain he suffered from Rua in the first fight. When Rua "jumped in" to attack, Machida's response, for the first time in his career, was to move back as opposed to countering.

@robertinho102 Machida is great, and I didn't say he was invincible. I'm just saying that I think this fight showed a chink in Machida's armor and tested his heart. Rua scared him, and a fighter cannot be scared in a fight.

rue did beat machida, he inflicted far more damage the entire fight, the only reason the judges went to machida is because hes the undisputed champion, and ufc needs its paper champions just like lesnar

In Machida vs Shogun 2, lyoto wasn't fighting as well as usual. He was slower and not as strategic. He should've fought like this and he would've won for sure.

@Wat0the0french0toast He was fighting as he would, the thing about lyoto machida is he is an extremely intelligent fighter, as is Shogun Rua, Lyoto knew this and reassessed his game plan, Shogun did what he wanted to do and fucked his day up.
