  • I got searched 3 times in one day in London. I'm Indian with the brown skin and all. Was told I was being searched under the misuse of drugs act or something. I have no previous conviction and when I asked why I was being searched, "You were acting suspiciously". I was walking back from the match

  • @PFCPure What you've gone through has been happening to blacks for over a CENTURY. So we feel ya, lol!!

  • @PFCPure wankers

  • If they literally were driving 2 mph on a public road, then they were breaking the law. It's called impeding traffic.

  • @snowstormcan That's what I was thinking.

  • @howlinmadmurphy7 They though his car was stolen. Google it. There ARE racist cops. Hell, I was called nigger, spook and monkey by people I served this country with. And I'm 28. So it's not like it was ancient times

  • @howlinmadmurphy7 that's retarded. I used to get pulled over WALKING to school because the cop said i "didn't look like I lived in the neighborhood" or that me and my friends didn't "look" like we went to the school because we were waiting outside for my boy Ron's mother to bring his project that he forgot at home. My boy Robbie Tolan was shot in his front yard because they thought his car was ago

  • I am as white as they come and I fuckin hate cops. But, I'm sorry, if I was driving 2mph anywhere other than a parking lot I'm pretty sure a cop would pull me over if he saw me. What happened with them being accused of stealing the car was bullshit, but they are emphasizing the wrong part of the story in this clip to say the least.

  • Bell Hooks makes this point, but without the ham-fisted acting. No need for "black shows."

  • I don't need a stinking map. Two miles an hour so everybody c's. You

  • @ejr23 how so?

  • @ThePLANxZ but that's not what this show is portraying, dude. Two white cops arrested two black teens for driving a nice car that wasn't theirs, claiming they stole it. That's in the rest of the episode, you have to see it for it to make sense. Uncle Phil even says that in one part, I don't know which one.

  • 2 miles per hour, so everybody sees you

  • This is the episode that showed how Carlton was sheltered from the real world and Will had to break it down to him.

  • This is a perfect example of why black people can be so retarded. Will Smith (I love the guy) is the typical trouble making black who is usually getting into trouble, blaming it on racism when in fact it's not. It's him making bad decisions. Carlton on the other hand is a black, who has a head on his shoulders, and has been successful so far in his life. He doesn't know what racism is because it really hardly exist in civilized world. If every black was him, racism wouldn't exist.

  • @ThePLANxZ That's such a naive view of the world man.

  • @failedKlone It may sound a bit naive, and of course there are idiots out there that are racist just to be racist (with any race, including blacks). I respect your opinion so I won't even try and spark an argument here but, I personally believe blacks and every other race only have themselves to blame for the "stereotype" people give them. It's not like everyone just came up with all of these bizarre ideas out of nowhere.

  • @ThePLANxZ I'll agree to that to a small extent. However, a lot of stereotypes are started by one race or group observing a small sample size of another race or group, then blanket that behavior to all members of said race or group.

In other words, while a few in the race or group do act in the stereotypical manner, the vast majority of them do not.

  • i would stop it.

and ask them if they need directions.

  • @ThePocahontas225 I agree with you, but if you look at all the sly sex references Will makes, Carlton has been naive to every one of them. Maybe they're saying he's just as naive to racism, because he grew up in a way that sheltered him from all that. Idk, just an errant thought.

  • @ejr23 how so?

  • so police only pull over African Americans because their lack of carrying a map? This explains why Rodney King got beat...

  • "i would stop it" awwwwwwww carlton why you have to break my heart

  • Comment removed

  • I understand what they are trying to say, Im a black girl and have been through enough racism though still have come and gone to university, if you look at my statistics, Im couldnt or shouldnt have gone but I have and will finish in 4 months ! Carlton needs to see it from both ends of the story not just do whats 'right' in the eyes of the law, but right as a human being and as a black man, if he was white he 'probably' would have, but being a black man, would he have, and if so why ?

  • Carlton is just as the bad as the racist cops!

  • Just Watched this Episode toDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • stop for being black...

  • I dunno about you guys but I think it's pretty bogus how all cops have to take the fall because of the dickheaded ones. I get tired of hearing "fuck the police", not because I'm a narc or some bullshit like that, but because it's ignorant to generalize about people, no matter who they are. What makes a cop judging someone based on color different from us concluding that they are all that way? I think some people have to get a serious check on reality.

  • Race doesn't matter. If you are white, black, hispanic, asian. Fuck the cops. Strangers can be dangerous and the only difference is that badge. Think a badge is enough to keep a person from being an asshole or corrupt? This country was based on questioning authority and never just taking someone's word for it.

  • Great episode.

  • As smart as carlton is, I am suprised and shocked he couldn't understand what will was trying to say. That is true what will saying, if a person of a darker skin tone caught driving a very expensive car, and driving in a certain neighborhood, you might will get pulled over.As much as I hate racism, racism will always be here, it's still exists today. Out of all the minorities in this country , blacks and hispanics tend to get most racism.

  • Haha, yes cops are dicks to people of all races, but racial profiling is a reality. If you're white, I wouldn't expect you to know about it, because that's not something you have to deal with. I'm not being snarky or holding it against white people; that's just how it is. Our society is built on images that put darker skinned people as the most suspicious and likely law breakers, and police can and do stop people based on suspicion. Let's be honest with ourselves, not righteous.

  • Super Mario Will :L

  • I dunno about America, but over here you would definitely get stopped for driving that slow, regardless of colour. Yeah, the cops probably were racist, but that was because they thought they were criminals because they were black, not because they stopped them.

  • What happened to black shows that actually spoke to black people??? Now all we have is "Love that Girl". Ugh

  • @sambam2694 what is love that girl? I'm black btw

  • @sambam2694 didn't like love that girl at first but it's not that bad and i would rather watch that than all the trashy ass reality show that is out.

  • Yeah, I used to be like Carlton...until I went to college. I realized then that no matter the grades I had or the major I had some people would see me as only one thing. Haha, actually almost got pulled over in my college town but I parked in a strangers driveway to avoid the cops...it's sad but white people will never understand. Latinos understand though lol

  • it just sucks this is still reality

  • Why was there laughing in the back?

  • Look, to be honest I do make racial jokes, I do because they can be funny at times, but if I ever see a police men trying to pull my friend over just because he is black, there would be hell to pay. They wouldn't know SHIT about what happened in the 1920's, it's shocking, lynching them IN THE STREET! for those of you who don't know what lynching is, it's when you hang a black man by there neck from a tree and throw stones at them, police don't know SHIT!

  • @TheMarylandDude yo u better calm down.... this is the part of carlton's role since he's living in a nice and respectful place and also well educated so his part here is to not realize discrimination and police abuse since he's just focusing on the real laws

  • @DoTaNeWb1247 Dude, I apologized. I got worked up and forgot that this was a TV show, and one of my favorites growing up. But thanks for telling me about Carlton's role, I never realized that.

  • What is wrong with Carlton!? Why doesn't he get that they were pulled over because the police were being racist? He thinks it was the slowness law? Bullshit! Will was actually speaking the truth here, and he was being so stubborn and stuck up on a one-track mind that he refused to look at reality here.

  • @TheMarylandDude dude calm down. its a tv show.

  • @dynamite4life Sorry about that, got way too worked up. But "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is one of my favorite shows growing up in the 90s.

  • Even though I PRAY TO GOD I'M WRONG, right now i'm at the conclusion that as long as people exist there will be racism, because people create the cultures and religions that clash with each other and that clash turns to conflict, conflict turns to racism and pregidous. And some people do it just cause the other looks different as seen here, that's why i say people and not religion

  • I want to punch carlton everytime i see this episode

  • @sc30002001: Why?

  • @pimps1986 the dudes a dumb ass will told him keep ur hands on the wheel hi officer how u doin and then he told him to keep his answers short and sweet ,idiot goes we live next to ronald regan

  • People need to be more like Carlton and not see Racism.

  • @rrrgovernment01 and be naive?? pretend it's not still a huge problem in society?

  • @rrrgovernment01 u can't be serious right now man carlton is tryna hide the fact that he knows he is wrong there is so discrimination all over of the world from blacks to hispanic man JUST WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE

  • oh carlton....he just doesn't get it

  • There is a law about driving too slow, and I would've pulled them over if I saw two guys riding in a car with no seatbelts and Will Smith sticking his head out of a sun roof. Haha.

  • Will AKA The Next Malcom X #RealTalk

  • Most def I would stop them. If a car is just lurking around 2 mph something COULD potentially be wrong. I've seen a lot of drunk drivers creeping down the streets.

With that said, I've seen cases involving racism with black/Hispanic people driving expensive cars.

  • Carlton is a Dumbass 'cause a lot of laws are some dumb as racist "niggers" themselves!

  • carlton is diplomatic to a fault

  • vancelandow: wow your a uncle tom,a you tube message board carlton

  • hate this episode...makes White people look like shit

Funny how the white man plays the bad guy in this...

  • @ALLMIGHTYWU Not all the time. In the series Different World, a white cop playes mediator for two parties crying racism.

  • propaganda

  • "Not if I bring a map!" LOL

  • Stop living in the past, all of you. Racial discrimination is illegal now; if you feel you've been wrong, GET OFF YOUR ASS AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. No wonder everyone thinks we're lazy.

  • this episode still gets to me and I get pissed at carlton

  • you can't drive 2 mph actually. i would pull you over. this is a bad example of discrimination - if you are i the road, driving 2 mph, thats a problem.

  • poor Carlton he spent so long in is sheltered life that he couldn't see how much the real world hurts

  • @14America88 First of all, go back and read a history book, and tell me where you find that the Jewish were the slave owners. Second of all, white people are not being oppressed, and I am white. Third of all I think you need to shut your white-supremacist mouth up, and get a grip on reality. Instead of boo-hooing and making crap up about how whites are "oppressed," maybe you should look at the bigger picture of people. No matter if you're black, white, Asian, European, purple, green, we are all

  • @authorchik94 But you can't say that there are times where white people, especially males, get passed over for things if something like race or gender comes up and they raise an issue with it. It's not the fault of anyone but companies. I know I've been passed over for something as simple as full-time status at work because a woman with limited availability was protesting discrimination but refused to make her schedule more available to work full-time. Sorry...it comes with being in retail.

  • He would not stop it.

  • I'm so sad. I'm black, I'm privleged, and my parents are always telling me how hard it'll be for me anyway...sometimes I feel like just giving up...

  • @aboutashow Well don't. If you give up it will get harder and if you mean give up in an extreme way then it will make it a lot harder for the people who love you. Stick in.

  • @tenaciousd1888 oh, i'd never kill myself, and i'd never actually give up. it's just that, my dad is very successful and he's STILL hated by the people at his job. I don't want it to be the same for me. i want to know that i'll be able to excel. i'm black and i'm a girl, so my odds are probably off..

  • @aboutashow Best thing you can do then is surpass your dad, I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and say that he's an employee and not "the boss", correct me if I'm wrong. If you don't want to deal with what he's dealing with get ambitious, get educated. Find an area you want to work in, start working for someone else for awhile to get experience, then go off and start YOUR OWN business and surround yourself with employees who you know will respect you. My mom, is going through it too

  • @nwms905g Wrong, actually. My dad's the VP of a large oil/gas company, but it was so hard for him. He's made it to a very high position, but people still step on him and don't give him recognition for his work and call him a nigger to his face- people who work FOR him and with him. It's never broken him though. He's never been a victim. He always tells me to aim high, but that getting there will be harder because people might treat me badly because of my race

  • 4 dislikes? Must have forgotten a map.

  • This reminds me of when I was in Jr High. I'm a black female, and I thought all girls were bullied, verbally sexually harassed, and asked if they were pregnant at age 12. When I got older, I read about the sexual stereotype of black girls, and I found out that I was one of the few who were treated like that.... Good show.

  • these days, you'd get stopped. black, white, yellow, whatever.

  • The system does not work Carlton, you just had your first taste of reality.

  • @screechingsoul that's what i'm saying me and my whole family had a very discussion about this episode i said this "what does a map gonna help you when a white police officer and pulls you over in a nice mercedes benz or in nice a bmw driving around in a nice white neighborhood thinking that you stole it from a rich white man because you r black now little piece of paper ain't gonna help now cause that same white racial police officer is gonna throw you in jail for stealing a car even u didn't"

  • Poor Carlton was so naive.

  • in south africa they show this every day on sony entertaiment channel its awesome

  • DAMN WHEN I SAW THIS BACK THEN I WANTED TO BEAT CARLTON WITH A BASEBALL BAT WITH BARB WIRE & FLAMES

  • Carlton just didn't get the memo about racism and will was tryna give carlton a big wake up call when will said this "You just don't get it do you, No Map is gonna save you, neither is your glee club, your fancy bel-air address or who is your daddy cuz when you are driving in a nice car in a strange neighbohood NONE OF THAT MATTERS they only see one thing" what will is tryna say to carlton "that policemen saw us in that benz he thought we stoled it from a rich man cuz rasicm will never stop"

  • Cops can be assholes to anyone. White cops to blacks. Black cops to whites. White cops to whites. Black cops to blacks.

COPS are just assholes ...PERIOD! For WHATEVER arbitrary reason they harass civilians. (Look at "Barney Fife" of "Mayberry". l.o.l.)

I'm white, yet and I have been approached by cops for NO reason.

I HATE! prickhead cops...color doesn't factor in (as far as I'm concerned).

  • @ndrussiangerman1 To an extent you're right, but have they ever pointed a gun at you for nothing or shot you, or beat the crap out of you with all of their handy little weapons? Also, every cop isn't the same. Some are actually worth a damn if you can believe it, but that doesn't speak for the majority.

  • @ndrussiangerman1 You are right to an extent. However explain this to me: My friends and I are just hanging out by the mall (11 of us in total. 9 black one asian and me. (I look white but im hispanic)) We were just talking laughing having a good time when a car filled with plainclothes cops come out. They show us their badges and ask us if a drug deal is going down. After some heavy talking from me, they left. I look to my left and a fight is ending between white people.

  • @ndrussiangerman1 Bitch quit lying.you have never been harassed by the cops.

  • @sambam2694

How do you know? Where you with me everywhere I've been??

  • @ndrussiangerman1 racial profiling definitely did, and still does happen.

  • @BakezDaDon

    granted

Cops bully and harass people for WHATEVER arbitrary reason. Look at how the cops went over and above what they should re: the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

If cops perceive a weakness or vulnerability that's when they go in for the kill. Racial minorities are picked on only when cops see them as an easy target (like the peaceful protesters who won't retaliate). When people fight back, usually cops prove to be the cowards all bullies are.

  • i miss this show

  • wow now this shows that nothing happens the way you think its gonna happen, we are all the same kind of person ,yet we judge and insult each other based on our appearance, i just can't stand it

  • The map is a metaphor for a plan for your life.

  • I think another point is to show the difference in societies. Will grew up around racism. Carlton didn't. Nobody's trying to pull a race card or anything.

  • Someone needs to give this speech to GOP Nominee Herman Cain.

  • Yes the cops pull you over for going to slow, but Will does have a point. There are a lot of issues with racism as well, and the cops can claim all they want that they're doing their job, but it won't always be true. For anybody.

  • I would stop it too Carleton. This video is trying to push a race card, nothing more to see here folks.

  • @shadowedge69 no it's not, you pretend like every thing is hunky dorry and that this has never ever and doesn't happen, man get real

  • The thing that makes "racism against blacks" so famous is we can truly say that we are the only race of people that get hated on for our skin color. Racism sucks no matter what race its coming from. At the end of the day we all bleed red blood. Its a shame that everyone can't see it that way. As sad as it is, I highly doubt racism will ever come to an end. People are not born raciest. Which leads to me ask where does it all steam from. Should I say the care takers? Racism is a mentality. END IT!

  • 3 dudes got no map

  • deep.

  • There's racism in every race. I wish people would just stop hating.

  • Comment removed

  • there actually is a law for going to slow hahaha

  • @ferrariboi98 too*

  • @ferrariboi98 hellz yeah there is..i got stopped for going too slow

  • @ferrariboi98 Yes, someone will get pulled over by police no matter what race if you are going 2 miles an hour on a regular street/road because the car is a danger to others just as much, or more, as going too fast is.

  • bring a map

  • There is no such thing as a slowness limit. If they were going to slow the cops should of asked them if they need help or assistance rather than stop them like if something was wrong. PLZ STOP DISCRIMINATION!!!

  • Will Smith = Swagonpoint.

    FUCK RACISM. STAY POSITIVE. #Based.

  • I kind of wanted to smack Carlton when he said to Will, "Maybe growing up where you did has made you a little touchy." Not only was it rude, but he's completely oblivious to the fact that HE just experienced racial discrimination, in Bel-Air! You can doll racism up and cover it with ruffles, but in the end it's still racism.

  • @TheSapphireEmpress96 um yes carlton was ignorant in what just happened but you need to realize that Will came from Philly where this type of stuff happens occasionally and its all around him where Carlton lives in Bel Air in a comforted and protected lifestyle where hes oblivious to "real life situations regarding real people".....thats why in the episode where Wil gets shot, Will is able to handle it way better than Carlton even though Will is the one who protected Carlton and he ended up shot

  • @MrJtotheohnnn I understand that. My issue is that, upbringing aside, Carlton is assuming that crime ONLY happens in areas like West Philly.

  • @TheSapphireEmpress96 Well you have to understand that Carlton doesn't see race. He doesn't look at color.

  • @rrrgovernment01 Mmmm, I'm not so sure about that, because he's made derogatory comments against Black people whom he considered "street" (like Will). Most of his friends on the show were white, especially in the first two seasons, and it wasn't because there weren't other rich Blacks in Bel-Air. I think Carlton's issue is that he didn't see how race was as important of an issue in terms of getting a job or just getting by in life.

  • Thank god for life lessons like this. Where would we be without them.

  • #RealShit

  • carlton didnt understand that your address and your high society ways doesnt matter with the police because as long as your black while driving you will always be pulled over by the cops. there is no such things as being pulled over for driving too slow. carlton is very typical because i dealt with blacks like him who have money believe that their money will protect them from racism and police harassment. very naive on carlton part but its very common in the rich especially from rich blacks.

  • shows like this with a message need to come back not like we have nowadays. carlton never experienced what it was like to live in the hood let alone being poor and never went w/o & will knows all about that, & finally uncle phil knows what its like to be on both side of the fence & never forgot where he came from thats what i loved about uncle phil he always kept it real with himself & his family.

  • What cop in his right fucking mind WOULDN'T stop a car driving that slow!!!!!!??????

  • i'm glad he wasnt always naive, i cannot stand how were all afraid of differences, when in actuality difference is the result of change and change is what makes the world go round, so some of us are foolish enough to deny the inevitable, i can't stand people like that

  • Wasn't it night-time when they were pulled over? How could the cop have seen they were black?

  • @Lazyguy22 Because Carlton says after they are stop this is not our car here is somebodies else registration. The policeman said "where are you going?" Palm Springs and we are driving there b/c the owner is using his helicopter. Police man said "Can you step out of the Car"

  • 2 questions 1: What episode was this? and 2: What's discrimination?

  • @dll0990 Mistaken identity and two Hatred of different races of people. sad thing it is...

  • Man I met folk like Carlton. I just say they are naive to the way.

  • True story my wife went to get a drink for me at the gas station, I wanted to switch it out for water instead, we went inside and since there was no manager on duty they could not switch the water out, no refund or nothing so I got the guys name down call the main office and got transfer to someone who called the store to switch out my drink for water now how silly is that and at the end the lady on the phone said that was not right was it because of my skin or was it because of management??

  • "I would stop it," It always gets to me the way Carlton says that

  • Carlton was such a NEgro

  • i think nowadays you can actually get stopped if yooure driving too slow. I THINK

  • Discrimination Is A Mutha Fucka

  • @tomurmie Back in the 90's this shit had a high rate of occurrence also Carlton did in the end clearly said "I would" if your gonna make statements might as well state for both sides. This show was in not anti-white, all families could sit and watch hence why it was so popular WORLDWIDE.

  • @Babyt4 This shit STILL has a high rate of occurrence. And getting worse all the time.

  • @ninjajesus81 not all blacks break the law. Everyone breaks the law no matter what race.

  • I think one of the points of this scene,in terms of the driving 2 miles per hour,is that even if it wasn't racially motivated, you will always at least wonder, cause us black folks have been done so wrong by the police and it is hard to tell if they are just doing their job,or after us,just for being black.

  • @TheLovelylove It's a harsh reality with so much discrimination, though during the Fresh Princes air time I believe it was a lot worse.

  • @TheLovelylove Yeah, if you've been conditioned enough it is pretty hard to differentiate which is which.

  • Reality, is a bitch. Especially, when you've lived your life believing that "the system works for you". I was in a car with a few friends(3black, 2white)on our way back from a martial-arts tournement. We were stopped by police and made to perform our martial-arts on the side of the road to prove we were martial-artists. The two white guys were shocked that we were treated like this. Especially, since they were not asked to. We just said, "Comes with the colour." They just shook their heads.

  • @stepityo So true. I remember a friend of mine and myself (we're both black) were driving to 7 eleven one night when we went past a police officer. He pulled us over and said we were speeding. He claimed my friend had an expired licence (which was BS) and no insurance (which my friend gave him proof of, he was the secondary driver on the car, again BS). He also said we were going 80, then 75 in a 60...then he claimed he couldn't remember how fast we were going. We fought the ticket and won.

  • @MMArmaggedon Good for you man. This happens in the UK all the time; people have no idea how similar the racial situation in the UK is to that of North America's.

  • @stepityo

thats just sad you know you could report them for that

  • @Starmadien2019 Not trying to sound defeatest, but...who you gonna call? Friends have filed reports against police officers and got a "friendly warning" about stepping on the wrong toes, etc., etc.. As with any group; its not all police who behave like this. But, when the majority are taught to stereotype a perp based on color, age, nationality, living situations, whatever. You can't argue that the cop wasn't doing his job? Just in the way he did it! Get it on film and you have a chance!

  • @Starmadien2019

well that sucks those cops should not have been allowed to get away with that

  • It's not coloured skin. I'm coloured - I'm coloured white

  • @14America88

have a good night by the way ^,^

  • Comment removed

  • @14America88 thank you for informing me, i'll make sure to stay far away ^^" anyhoo this may SEEM to be an anti-white clip to you and alot of other national socialists but for some it is expressing what was very prominent in america between white people and black people on a large scale the 'playing field' has evened out but some people just feel a ceartain way about these things, personally i go with the second thing but we'll just have to agree to disagree i'm afraid ^^"

  • Merh, good and bad comes in all races. We could point fingers at each race or learn from their mistakes so this world can be better. C'mon people, quit the name calling and just enjoy this amazing clip :)

  • Be strong and Ignore ignorance people..... Clean outfit Will

  • If your driving 2 mph on the freeway, yeah you deserved to be stopped. You could cause an accident. You are effectively stopped on the freeway. If your lost, or looking for an exit, you don;t come to a stop, you just keep looking. I honeslty don't see how this is racist

  • @thedeerpusher It was also the whole, if you see a black guy driving a really nice car, better stop him because he stole it.

  • Stupid niggers always crying about race, maybe its because you coons always commit crimes. Look at all the crimes they commit, they're savage animals. All of you dumb ass liberals on here crying the race card, go fuck yourselves.

  • @14America88 You've got to be kidding me. Minorities "cry" about race because still to this day in 2011 there are still some who are discriminated against due to stereotypes. While it is true some Black people commit crimes, there are plenty of Whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. that end up in jail...am I correct or not? There are bad people everywhere of every color, that you've got to admit, and putting the blame on one race of people is irrational. Even most Conservatives could tell you that.

  • @songcandid Most crimes are committed by blacks, they constantly attack white people and don't even get charged with hate crimes. Yet if it was a white person attacking a black person it would be a hate crime, clearly it's white people that are the ones who are being oppressed.

  • Violence is bred from ignorance which is caused when people don't have access to the tools used to achieve positive goals and/or cannot socialize with people different from them. Violence is EVERYWHERE. Whatever point you're trying to get across isn't working. People of all races commit crimes. As far as hate crimes go, 300 years of slavery is pretty relevant, right? Time doesn't make anyone forget. Hate crimes are terrible so what we need is cooperation on everyone's part to end it.

  • @songcandid First of all slavery was not done by white people, it was done by Jews. Second of all, if the media wasn't controlled by anti-white Jews, you&#
