Whenever gay men are asked about sexuality the red flag is when they get all philosophical about human attraction. They give non-forthcoming answers, whereas straight guys that get asked about their sexuality just flat out say "I'm straight". Some say if a man becomes really defensive about it it's b/c he has something to hide, but I think it has more to do w/his comfort level & acceptance of homosexuality more than it has to do with fear of being "discovered"

She's a reporter, and at the time, she was considered the best because she would ASK the question--whatever it was. She regrets it now or so she says, but I doubt it. How do you deal with the publicists who told you that you had to hide. This is a true double standard for all the male stars but not so true for woman. How about all the gay hollywood executives told that you had to hide but yet many expects you to be their party buddies or sexual partners (casting couches--e.g. James Dean, Tab Hunters, Rock Hudson)? I still say it is only safe after you are away from the limelight to come out when no one care about you.

The message shes sending is, its ok to out people even though you barely know that person personally and the hardship they go through. Its best to leave that to thier close family and friends they trust and when the time is right and they feel comfortable , they can come out themselves, not on national television through an interview.

Its the classy thing to do, looking back and saying you have made mistakes, Not many people would be pointing out there 30 mistakes for their 30 years on the air special. Barbara said that Ricky could confirm, deny or remain ambiguous, re his sexuality, but he had remained ambiguous up to that point Barbara...I bet all she wanted was an exclusive re Ricky's sexuality...She wanted him to "come out" on her show...Barbara is a great interviewer, but I don't care much for her...She speaks in this aristocratic manner, as if she's royalty, and she LOVES talking about her accomplishments...The only thing she loves more than that is other people talking about them.

Whenever gay men are asked about sexuality the red flag is when they get all philosophical about human attraction. They give non-forthcoming answers, whereas straight guys that get asked about their sexuality just flat out say "I'm straight". Some say if a man becomes really defensive about it it's b/c he has something to hide, but I think it has more to do w/his comfort level & acceptance of homosexuality more than it has to do with fear of being "discovered"

She's a reporter, and at the time, she was considered the best because she would ASK the question--whatever it was. She regrets it now or so she says, but I doubt it. How do you deal with the publicists who told you that you had to hide. This is a true double standard for all the male stars but not so true for woman. How about all the gay hollywood executives told that you had to hide but yet many expects you to be their party buddies or sexual partners (casting couches--e.g. James Dean, Tab Hunters, Rock Hudson)? I still say it is only safe after you are away from the limelight to come out when no one care about you.
