Beautifully done, took me a frustratingly long time to perfect the jumping and shooting many years ago. You can also hang off the platform (he can't see you) and jump up and fire when he backs away, but it takes much longer. What a game though. What a game.

This thing was so hard to kill, it was crazy, the only guns I used were the shotgun and the uzis, it was fun though. TR1 is still hard, Crystal Dynamics changed a lot of stuff and made it too easy. Look at the puzzles in Legend, Underworld & Anniversary in comparsion to the ones in TR1, TR2, TR3 & TLR. Plus the old ones were creepier.

@sophawong You got two options. One is to windows virtual pc or virtual machine and install windows 95 or 98. Or get the PS one version and use a playstation Emulator.

I've gotta say, the first few Tomb Raider games were the most absorbing, fantastic experience I've ever had with a game. You become so immersed in the storyline and it's such a great memory. I used to play with my dad jumping around and I controlled the guns =)

I killed it with the pistols on order to make it more difficult but after watching this my jump technique was far simpler I think you did it the hard way if you stay behind it and keep one jump ahead of its turning you can just keep jumping in a circle with the pistols on lock, I tried it the second time with my eyes closed and it worked!

I think old Tomb Raiders with a pixelated Lara are far better. I don't like "Realistic" 3D games, unless they're ultra realistic, and that technology doesn't exist today. Maybe in 10 years the games and CGI effects for characteres will be perfect, but right now, I think they're poor. So, I think the pixelated Lara is far better than the actual Lara. Same for the good old MK games. MK3U was the last good of they. Just my humble opinion.

I love tomb raider but i do have a complaint...its a bit of the same old tomb or cave and you contsantly die because of hidden traps which are everywhere...its an amazing game but i prefer the 2/3/4 because of that reason it moves away from caves and tombs

I played it as a kid. Loved it ever since. They can make graphics look impressive but never will we see a challenging TR games like this. I still play the games, but it died with AoD. Last real challenge for me at least.

i thought the 1st and second tomb raider were the best. It was actually tomb raiding. Now its just jumping round jungles. I bought underworld when it first came out, got to the bit with the tigers and just got bored. I much prefer the puzzles in the first game

This TR is ALWAYS going to be the best. No number of remakes can make is better. Unless you take EVERYTHING from this one and just improve the graphics and don't remove ANYTHING. Be patient, I lost mine a few years back when moving house, but after a week or two of trawling through ebay, I managed to get all 5 PS1 TR's with discs and manuals in mint condition for 21 quid. Cases weren't great but I replaced those for a fiver. Less than 30 quid for all 5 in basically new condition, they're out there

That thing is not so difficult to kill. Just be carefull while you move because you can fall out. With around 500 - 1000 UZI bullets or 50 shotgun shells, you kill him.
