Wimshurst machine with insulated sectors in operation

hey there, have you tried adding another element in this model? "magnets" you could rig it up so the magnets would spin it and then you have yourself a generator. try it out and let me know the results.

Very nice machine. Can I ask how and what you use to insulate your sectors? Are they under the surface of the disk's somehow?

I've experimented with a variety of electrostatic machines. Although not the most powerful, the Wimshurst machine is probably among the most reliable.

Agreed, and I really like the control a Wimshurst machine gives...
